Son of surfing icon 'fighting for his life' after devastating car accident in Hawaii
The son of surfing legend Shawn Briley is in the ICU in Hawaii after falling victim to a devastating car crash.
Briley says his son, Dakota, is 'fighting for his life' after a crash on the island of Oahu over the weekend.
Dakota was hit by a vehicle on the Kamehameha Highway and was pinned between two other cars in an accident on Saturday.
His brother, Ryder, posted multiple calls for thoughts and prayers while also sharing a video of Dakota being serenaded by a ukelele at his hospital bedside.
'Please continue to pray for our Dakota, he's in really rough shape and needs a miracle from god, his ribs have been crushed, his spine is severed and broken in multiple places, the back of his skull has been crushed, fractured in over 8 places, from the hip down his legs have been crushed,' Ryder said in an update.
'He needs a miracle, please pray for God to make him whole again.'
Hours later, Ryder added another post, saying, 'pray for dakota's spinal cord, pray that god knits his spinal cord back together and perform a miracle. pray that god does what the doctors can't, make him whole again lord, from head to toe heal dakota, do what only you can do, a god who does miracles.
'Continue to give him strength and comfort him. MAKE HIM WHOLE AGAIN.'
A GoFundMe organized on Dakota's behalf has raised over $44,000 at the time of publishing.
The fundraiser says that the doctors 'were able to stabilize his legs and are now working tirelessly on multiple surgeries to the rest of his body.
'For those of you who know The Briley Ohana [family], you know they are the Salt of the Earth, a family of great faith in God and have hearts of gold. They are a staple in the North Shore Community and are loved by many.
'Dakota Briley has proven to be a true warrior. He is strong, vibrant and his smile lights up a room. His brother Ryder writes "at times he appears as so solid, it's hard to handle, but I know that his stubornness [sic], strength and the fight he has in him is what is going to get him through this. We believe he will get through this. He has a lot more battles to fight through, and if anyone can do it... it's Dakota."'
Like his father, Dakota is a surfer - chasing waves like Shawn did for decades.
Shawn gained legendary status for his proficiency at the Banzai Pipeline - a surf break which can reach heights of 20 feet and has been known as one of the world's deadliest waves.

Love Island fix row as fans say ‘it's obvious' who Harrison is picking after he ‘gives away' who he's sending home
LOVE Island has found itself in a fix row as fans claim "it's obvious" who bombshell Harrison will pick, and who he's sending home. Last night's explosive episode saw the new Islander faced with choosing between Toni and Malisha, after they both found themselves single in the latest recoupling. 4 4 4 They both then went on a date with new bombshell Harrison, who would ultimately decide who will return to the villa and who will be going home. Viewers watched as the footballer sat down to meet both of the girls. After watching both dates play out, fans immediately picked up on a HUGE clue who Harrison is going to chose to couple up with, and who will be dumped from the villa. During his date with Toni, it was revealed that they both attended the same college in Florida, which fans think make it "obvious" he is going to pick her. Viewers also picked up on the fact that they had "more chemistry" than he had with Malisha, and said this "gave away" who he will choose. Plus, before going in the villa, Harrison said he found "American girls more attractive than British ones" - and Toni is from the US. Fans immediately headed to X/Twitter to share their theory, with one saying: "They set up Malisha omg sending in a guy who lives in America and likes American girls wtf #LoveIsland." "Lives in Miami? This is our guy for Toni #LoveIsland," said another. This one tweeted: "I feel like his date with Toni went a bit smoother than with Malisha and they obvs have a better connection but who knows…" Another said: "He has way more chemistry with Toni plus he loves American girls and they went too the same college - so obvious." Love Island viewers spot moment Dejon 'proves he's FAKING feelings for Meg' - did you? Meanwhile, fans were also equally unimpressed that the show had ended on a cliffhanger. This means they now have to wait until tonight to find out who Harrison chooses, and who gets dumped. Again, venting on social media, one person penned: "WTF is that ending Love Island." Another added: "Aye aye aye I wanted to see his decision on today's episode! Editors! Producers!" 4 A third shared: "I hate the way this show ends some times. Why does it end like that???" A fourth remarked: "Harrison will obviously go for Toni …we know how this goes." While a fifth chimed in: "Itv you give a whole hour of nothing and ends the episode like this?" "I REALLY HOPE HE PICKS TONI", another commented. It comes as The Sun revealed hunky footballer and model Harrison would be the latest bombshell. A source said: 'Harrison couldn't arrive in the villa at a better time as all the promising, early couples are looking fractured and it's looking likely he'll have heads swivelling.' Harrison played soccer at the University of New Hampshire but back home played in defence for Derby County's youth side. Love Island airs on ITV2 and ITVX. Tyler Perry accused of sexual assault by actor Derek Dixon in lawsuit
US film and TV giant Tyler Perry has been sued for $260m (£194m) by an actor who has accused the mogul of sexually assaulting him while working on his TV Dixon has filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles accusing Perry of using his influence in the entertainment industry to create a "coercive, sexually exploitative dynamic" while he was acting on The Oval and alleges Perry promised him a successful acting career but then subjected him to "escalating sexual harassment, assault and battery, and professional retaliation" when he didn't reciprocate Perry's "unwanted advances".Perry's lawyer denied the allegations and called the lawsuit a "scam" to make money. "This is an individual who got close to Tyler Perry for what now appears to be nothing more than setting up a scam," his attorney Matthew Boyd told the BBC. "But Tyler will not be shaken down and we are confident these fabricated claims of harassment will fail."Dixon said he met Perry in 2019 at a work event for Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta, and the pair talked over several months about an acting career. The lawsuit states Perry also allegedly made numerous sexual comments and remarks about wanting a sexual relationship, and made several advances on Dixon - which he offered Dixon a role in his show Ruthless then later in The Oval. But the lawsuit said: "Mr Perry made it clear to Dixon that if Dixon ignored Perry or failed to engage with the sexual innuendos, Dixon's character would 'die' in the next season."The case claims Perry "always held this over Mr Dixon's head, implying that [his character] 'Dale' would survive if Dixon kept Perry 'happy'".The lawsuit cites several incidents where Perry allegedly sexually assaulted Dixon. The actor accused Perry of interrogating him over his sexual interests in a trailer on the set of The Oval, before pinning him to a wall and fondling him. Dixon said he refused the advance and left the trailer. Dixon said to stop continued harassment, he elected to leave his role on The Oval and declined a job from Perry to work as a writer.

Eric Dane enjoys a date night with a lookalike of estranged wife Rebecca Gayheart after opening up about his ALS battle
Eric Dane was seen enjoying a dinner with a lookalike of his estranged wife Rebecca Gayheart after opening up about his battle with ALS. The Greys Anatomy star, 52, revealed in April that he's battling amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, which progressively weakens muscles and affects physical function. There is no cure for the condition. Eric has been married to actress Rebecca, 53, since 2005 but she filed for divorce in 2018 and the pair have been separated ever since. Rebecca withdrew her divorce petition in March ahead of Eric announcing his diagnosis and has said they co-parent well together as a family. But he was spotted out on a date with a mystery woman who bore a striking resemblance to Rebecca on Tuesday. The pair were seen kissing goodbye as he was picked up by a driver following a dinner date at Chateau Marmont in West Hollywood. Eric gave an update on his battle with ALS this week, telling Good Morning America on Tuesday: ' I'm fighting as much as I can. There's so much about it that's out of my control.' Eric is currently taking medication to slow the symptoms and he's also participating in a pioneering research study. 'I will fly to Germany and eat the head off a rattlesnake if [doctors] told me that that would help,' Dane stressed. 'I'll assume the risk.' The SAG Award winner was joined by his neurologist Dr. Merit Cudkowicz, who admitted: 'It's a hard diagnosis to hear, but I want [patients] to hear that there's hope. I never want anyone to hear that there's nothing to do because there's a lot to do.' 'That's what I got from Merit when I met her. There was a sense of hope I didn't get from other doctors that I met with,' Eric noted, adding prior doctors were just 'there to monitor my decline and that's not very helpful.' There are currently 5K people diagnosed with ALS annually, according to the CDC. 'But those numbers are going up moderately fast,' the Chief of Neurology at Mass General warned. 'It's really predicted by, like, 2040 [that] the numbers of people with ALS in the world will be increased by about 40%.' Dr. Merit listed off some of the ALS risk factors including plastics, bacteria in lakes, head trauma in sports, pesticides, military service, and 'there's many more we don't know about.' 'There's people all over the world working on this,' the Harvard Medical School professor encouraged. 'Between artificial intelligence and other imaging technology - to really be able to to subtype people - that's what gets me excited. That's all coming in the next, I think, one to two years, if not faster.' Back in 2014, the viral ice-bucket challenge raised $200million for ALS research 'in the US alone and it was spent quickly.' 'I'm very hopeful, yeah, I don't think this is the end of my story. I'm pretty resilient,' Eric beamed. 'I just don't feel, like in my heart, [that] this is the end of me.' Eric first experienced weakness in his right hand one year ago, but he 'thought maybe I'd been texting too much or my hand was fatigued' until a hand specialist eventually referred him to a neurologist. 'I have one functioning arm. My left side is functioning. My right side, [which is my dominant side], has completely stopped working,' the San Francisco-born silver fox revealed Monday. '[My left arm] is going. I feel like maybe a couple, a few more months and I won't have my left hand either. Sobering. I'm worried about my legs.' Luckily, Eric has the love and support of his wife Rebecca, who dismissed her divorce petition in March following seven years of estrangement, as well as their 15-year-old daughter Billie and 13-year-old daughter Georgia. 'I talk to her every day,' Eric emotionally said of the 53-year-old Jawbreaker alum. 'We have managed to become better friends and better parents. And she is probably my biggest champion and my most stalwart supporter. And I lean on her.' On average, ALS patients live two to five years following their first symptoms, but FDA-approved medications and physical/speech therapies might slow down the progression of the disorder.
