GOF Nabs Trio, Seizes 75,400 Kg Of Crude Palm Oil

IPOH, July 17 (Bernama) -- The General Operations Force (GOF) North Brigade detained three men suspected of attempting to misappropriate 75,400 kg of crude palm oil during Op Taring Palma in Taiping yesterday.
Its commander SAC Shahrum Hashim said the three-hour operation also led to the seizure of two tanker lorries, one bonded lorry and three mobile phones, with an estimated total value of RM975,200.
He said the team detected a suspicious tanker lorry in the area and trailed it to the side of Jalan Taiping-Bagan Serai.

The incident was reported yesterday after the child was brought unconscious to the hospital by his parents. Despite CPR efforts, the boy was pronounced dead at 9.14 am. IPOH, July 24 (Bernama) -- Authorities seized RM21.25 million worth of illegally processed electronic waste (e-waste) during a raid on an unlicensed factory in Mukim Bagan Sena, near Kulim in Kedah on Wednesday. The joint operation, codenamed 'Op Hazard', was led by the Northern Brigade of the General Operations Force (GOF) and the Kedah Department of Environment (DOE), following intelligence on illegal e-waste activities at the site. In a statement today, GOF Northern Brigade commander SAC Shahrum Hashim said the factory was operating without a valid licence and was found with compressed e-waste blocks, metal processing equipment and various toxic waste materials.

KOTA BHARU: The General Operations Force (GOF) seized smuggled cigarettes and subsidised controlled goods worth RM155,000 during raids on a premises and a house in Kampung Kedai Buluh. The operation, conducted on July 21, was part of Op Taring Wawasan Kelantan. GOF Southeast Brigade Commander Datuk Nik Ros Azhan Nik Ab Hamid said the raid followed intelligence reports and public tip-offs. The team discovered 61,620 sticks of untaxed cigarettes, 1,088 kg of cooking oil, 1,500 kg of wheat flour, 763 kg of white rice, and 400 kg of glutinous rice. 'The caretaker of the premises, a 27-year-old man, was detained for further investigation. Documents related to the goods were found to be dubious and non-compliant with licensing conditions,' he said. The seized items were handed over to the Kota Bharu District Police Headquarters, the Kelantan Paddy and Rice Regulatory Division, and Kota Bharu KPDN for further action. The case is being investigated under multiple laws, including the Customs Act 1967 and the Control of Supplies Act 1961. - Bernama
