Sarawak and Sabah gears up for its annual festivals with mega parties and the grand success of 'Kosert Meletop TVS'
KUCHING: With the theme ' Nang Champiyen, Nang Legend ', the city of Miri lit up in a night of glitz and glamour as the Konsert MeleTOP TVS rocked the Miri Indoor Stadium with thousands of fans and top Malaysian stars including Dayang Nurfaizah, Stacy, Mimifly, Dolla, and many more.
Making it even more special, this marked the first time the MeleTOP mega concert ventured beyond the Klang Valley, with Miri being the debut location in Borneo.
Brought to you by two of the nation's entertainment giants, Astro and TVS, the two-hour concert was a lively celebration broadcast live on TVS (Channel 122 on Astro, MYTV, Unifi TV), Astro Ria, Astro GO and Sooka. The event was also graced by the presence of the Mayor of Miri, Adam Yii Siew Sang.
The evening kicked off with a beautiful cultural and musical fusion performance by Sada Borneo and Dion Das, followed by an electrifying set from powerhouses Mimifly and Stacy, who lit up the stage with tracks like 'Abracadabra', 'Menyala' and 'Angkat.'
Rising young star Wani Kayrie captivated the crowd alongside Noki, setting the stage ablaze with 'Original Sabahan' and 'Not Like Us', igniting Borneo pride on home soil.
A major highlight of the night was the presentation of the 'Anugerah Khas Borneo MeleTOP' to Sarawak's beloved songstress Dayang Nurfaizah, awarded by TVS Chairperson, Dato' Norhyati Ismail and Acting CEO of TVS, En. Mohamad Sardon Zainal.
The award stands as TVS' highest recognition of a Sarawak-born talent who has proudly carried the name of the state and Borneo into the national music spotlight.
Dayang continued her special night with a heartfelt solo performance of 'Seandainya Masih Ada Cinta', and brought the house down with a soul-stirring duet of 'Haram' with Hael Husaini — it was a truly unforgettable collaboration.
Also making special appearances were Hairee Francis, Marsha Milan and Nadeera Zaini — the golden-voiced singer currently making waves after her stellar success at AJL39.
The evening reached one of its musical highlights with a high-energy finale from Dolla, who had the audience on their feet with a glamorous and dynamic performance.
Keeping the crowd engaged from start to finish were popular MeleTOP hosts Nabil Ahmad, Hawa Rizwana and Sherry Alhadad, joined by TVS hosts Cheryl Toh, Fattah Bolh and Ghaz Zawawi, ensuring every moment was filled with excitement and joy.
What's Next: Konsert Berkat Gawai-Kaamatan – 21 May 2025
The celebration does not stop here! Riding the wave of this phenomenal momentum, TVS is set to deliver another must-see mega concert — Konsert Berkat Gawai-Kaamatan!
In conjunction with the two major cultural festivals of the Borneo communities, the concert will take place on 21 May 2025, at 7:30 PM, once again at the Miri Indoor Stadium. Headlined by Malaysia's queen of rock, Ella, the star-studded lineup also includes Bob Yusof, Ramles Walter, Dabra Sia, Velvet Aduk, Roxy Ixzy, SMDX, and a special guest appearance from Kalimantan's Marina Jara.
Free tickets to the concert were snapped up quickly during the early release, but fans still have the opportunity to grab them on the TVS website (tvsarawak.my) or directly at the venue entrance — while stocks last!
The public, especially those in and around Miri, are warmly invited to join in what promises to be another colorful night of culture and music.
Miri – Now A Strategic Destination for Celebration & Entertainment
According to Mohamad Sardon Zainal, 'Miri is the gateway to northern Sarawak, located close to Brunei, Sabah and Kalimantan. As we celebrate Miri's 20th anniversary as a city, this is the perfect time to bring people and cultures together on a grand scale.'
Free Concert, World-Class Experience
Combining national music icons with local talents from Sabah and Sarawak, concerts like these do more than entertain as they build cultural bridges and create golden opportunities for emerging talents. With free access, these events have opened the doors for more attendees, including tourists from Brunei and Kalimantan, to enjoy top-tier entertainment right here in Borneo.
