Trump Turnberry vandalism suspect arrested in London over golf course damage
The total number of people arrested now stands at eight.
Another suspect has been arrested over damage caused to the golf course at Trump Turnberry during a vandalism attack earlier this year, police have said.
Police Scotland said a 57-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with damage to the course, in Maidens Road, Turnberry, South Ayrshire.
The force revealed he was detained in London on Tuesday June 24 after the incident was reported at around 4.40am on Saturday, March 8.
The man has not appeared in court and has been released on an undertaking to appear at court at a later date in connection with the case against him.
His arrest takes the total number of people detained in connection with the vandalism to eight.
A 27-year-old woman was also arrested on April 27 in connection with the incident and was due to appear at Ayr Sheriff Court the following day.
Pro-Palestine scrawls and slogans were etched across the four-star golfing resort, near Girvan.
As well as having red paint splattered across the front of the upmarket facility, "Gaza is not 4 sale" was also sprayed across one of the greens.
Pictures from the scene showed the white clubhouse covered in slashes of red paint and the golfing green hacked.
Palestine Action, which took responsibility for the attack, said the move was a 'direct response to the US administration's stated intent to ethnically cleanse Gaza".

Trump's comments include plans to 'clean out the whole thing'. An AI-generated video shared by the President, showed Gaza transformed into a "Middle Eastern paradise".
The video depicted beaches, skyscrapers and yachts, and featured an AI generated Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu sipping cocktails by a pool.
Trump sent a message to the two million population on his Truth Social platform, writing: 'To the People of Gaza: A beautiful Future awaits, but not if you hold Hostages. If you do, you are dead'.
The Trump administration recently signed off on the shipment of 40,000 bombs to Israel. Days after the incident Eric Trump, son of the US President, touched down at Edinburgh Airport in his dad's private Boeing 757 jet on March 13.
He met First Minister John Swinney for what was described as a 'business meeting.' Eric Trump took over the running of some of his father's businesses in 2017.
A spokesperson from Palestine Action said in a release from the group: 'Palestine Action rejects Donald Trump's treatment of Gaza as though it were his property to dispose of as he likes.
"To make that clear, we have shown him that his own property is not safe from acts of resistance. We will continue to take action against US-Israeli colonialism in the Palestinian homeland.'
A Trump Turnberry spokesman said previously: "This was a childish, criminal act. Turnberry is a national treasure and will continue to be the number one beacon of luxury and excellence in the world of golf."

Seven to appear in court after protesters clash with police at Palestine Action demonstration
Seven people have been charged following clashes with police at a demonstration in support of the soon-to-be banned group Palestine Action. A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said officers made 13 arrests for offences including assaulting an emergency worker, obstructing a constable and breaching Public Order Act conditions. Of the other individuals arrested at the Trafalgar Square march, one has been cautioned and the remainder either bailed or released under investigation. A statement from the Met Police reads: 'While the protest initially began in a peaceful manner, officers faced violence when they went into the crowd to speak to three individuals whose behaviour was arousing suspicion. 'This sequence of events repeated itself on multiple occasions, with officers being surrounded on each occasion they tried to deal with an incident.' The road at one corner of the square was completely blocked, with a line of police ready to stop the participants from leaving the area. The protest had initially been planned to take place outside the Houses of Parliament, but the location was changed early on Monday morning when Scotland Yard imposed an exclusion zone. Home Secretary Yvette Cooper said in a statement on Monday afternoon that she has decided to proscribe Palestine Action a nd will lay an order before Parliament next week which, if passed, will make membership and support for the protest group illegal. Belonging to or expressing support for a proscribed organisation, along with a number of other actions, are criminal offences carrying a maximum sentence of 14 years in prison. The decision comes after the group posted footage online showing two people inside the base at RAF Brize Norton in Oxfordshire. The clip shows one person riding an electric scooter up to an Airbus Voyager air-to-air refuelling tanker and appearing to spray paint into its jet engine. After Monday's protest, Liam Mizrahi, 25, of no fixed address, was charged with a racially aggravated public order offence, and was remanded to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Tuesday. Eleanor Simmonds, 31, also of no fixed address, was charged with assaulting an emergency worker and was bailed to appear at Croydon Magistrates' Court on July 25. Lavina Richards, 37, of Elsdale Street, Hackney was charged with two counts of assaulting an emergency worker and was remanded to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Wednesday. Bipasha Tahsin, 21, of Pinchin Street, Tower Hamlets was charged with assaulting an emergency worker. She was bailed to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court on July 8. Matthew Holbrook, 59, of Somerhill Road, Hove, Tom Jubert, 40, of Chippendale Street, Hackney, and Hafeza Choudhury, 28, of Berkeley Path, Luton, were charged with breaching Public Order Act conditions and were bailed to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court on July 21. A 31-year-old woman received a caution for assaulting an emergency worker. Palestine Action has staged a series of demonstrations in recent months, including spraying the London offices of Allianz Insurance with red paint over its alleged links to Israeli defence company Elbit, and vandalising US president Donald Trump's Turnberry golf course in South Ayrshire.

Israel's chilling 'escape' warning in phone call to Iranian general
In a call from a Mossad agent to an Iranian official, the Israeli intelligence officer gave an ultimatum in a bid to install fear among the Tehran regime, insiders have said An Israeli intelligence officer had a chilling warning during a phone call with a senior Iranian general as tensions flared in the Middle East. Israel launched its first strikes against Iran on June 13, killing top military leaders and nuclear scientists, and in the hours after the attack intelligence operatives launched a covert campaign to intimidate senior officials. According to three people familiar with the operation, the aim was to divide and destabilise Tehran's regime. It has emerged that people working for Israel's security who speak Iran's primary language, Farsi, called senior officials warning them that they would also die unless they declared that they no longer supported the regime of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the country's supreme leader. More than 20 Iranians in positions of power were contacted, it has been claimed. In a call obtained by The Washington Post, an Israeli intelligence operative warned a senior Iranian general he had 12 hours to escape with his family if he wanted to avoid death. "Listen carefully. I'm calling from a country that – I'll explain to you. Listen carefully," he said. "I'm calling from a country that, two hours ago, sent Bagheri, Salami, Shamkhani, one by one, to hell. I can advise you now, you have 12 hours to escape with your wife and child. Otherwise, you're on our list right now. All of you, one by one, are on the list that I am looking at, and you are our next targets. "We will hit you, your family, your children, everyone, with the dirt. I only called to tell you, while there's time. I will give you a reprieve. Like I said, 12 hours from this very minute that I spoke to you, you have time to escape. If not, you have no one to blame but yourself." Installing fear into the general, he added: "We're closer to you than your own neck vein. Put this in your head. May God protect you." After being given the ultimatum, the general - a member of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps - was told he had 12 hours to make a video disassociating himself from the Iranian government. After asking how he should send the video, he was told by the Mossad agent that he would receive a Telegram ID. Mossad is Israel's national intelligence agency. It's not clear whether such a video was made or sent and according to one of the sources who spoke to The Washington Post, the unidentified general is believed to be still alive and in Iran. A second person said the main goal of the operation was to deter and confuse the Tehran leadership. The conflict between Iran and Israel continued up until today, when Donald Trump called for a ceasefire - and both countries eventually appeared to agree, despite initially violating it. "CONGRATULATIONS TO EVERYONE!" Mr Trump wrote on his social media platform, Truth Social. "It has been fully agreed by and between Israel and Iran that there will be a Complete and Total CEASEFIRE (in approximately six hours from now, when Israel and Iran have wound down and completed their in progress, final missions!), for twelve hours, at which point the WAR will be considered, ENDED! "Officially, Iran will start the CEASEFIRE and, upon the 12th Hour, Israel will start the CEASEFIRE and, upon the 24th hour, an Official END to THE 12 DAY WAR will be saluted by the World. During each CEASEFIRE, the other side will remain PEACEFUL and RESPECTFUL. On the assumption that everything works as it should, which it will, I would like to congratulate both Countries, Israel and Iran, on having the Stamina, Courage, and Intelligence to end, what should be called, 'THE 12 DAY WAR'. "This is a War that could have gone on for years, and destroyed the entire Middle East, but it didn't, and never will! God bless Israel, God bless Iran, God bless the Middle East, God bless the United States of America, and GOD BLESS THE WORLD! DONALD J. TRUMP, PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA." Secretary-General António Guterres welcomed Trump's announcement of a ceasefire and urged both countries to respect it so that the fighting can stop. "The people of the two countries have already suffered too much," he tweeted. "It is my sincere hope that this ceasefire can be replicated in the other conflicts in the region." While the conflict with Iran now appears to have ended, Israel continues bombing Gaza, and over the past 12 days it has killed at least 870 Palestinians. Since the beginning of the conflict in Gaza in October 2023, more than 56,000 Palestinians have been killed by Israel - but the real death toll is expected to be much higher as this number doesn't account for people under the rubble, who are presumed dead.
