Man arrested after over €630k seized after gardaí intercept vehicle in Dublin
Under Operation Tara — a garda operation which aims to disrupt, dismantle and prosecute drug trafficking networks, at all levels — garda members attached to the Garda National Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau intercepted a vehicle in Cabra.
Following the interception at 4pm, a garda search of a home in the Cabra area was also undetaken.
During the course of this operation €638,000 in cash, a money counter and money laundering paraphernalia was recovered.
One man, aged in his 30s, was arrested in relation to facilitating and enhancing money laundering activities for an organised crime group and is currently detained.
A garda spokesperson said: "Investigations are ongoing."

The seized drugs are subject to analysis by Forensic Science Ireland (FSI). Gardai said investigations are ongoing. The force added that these latest seizures form part of Operation Tara, an enhanced national anti-drugs strategy launched by Garda Commissioner Drew Harris in July 2021. The focus of Operation Tara is to disrupt, dismantle, and prosecute drug trafficking networks at all levels – international, national, and local – involved in the importation, distribution, cultivation, production, local sale, and supply of controlled drugs.

Two men (40s) charged after over €750k of cannabis seized at Drogheda growhouse
The two men will now sit before a sitting of the Dundalk District Court following the drug seizure. The two men (aged in their 40s) arrested in connection with the seziure of cannabis in Co Louth have now been charged. On Tuesday, gardaí searched a premises and found a large-scale cannabis cultivation factory. Cannabis plants with an estimated street value of more than €750,000 were seized following the search operaiton in Drogheda. The two men are expected to appear before a special sitting of Dundalk District Court later today at approximately 5pm. Two men arrested after 'large-scale cannabis cultivation factory' dismantled
Two men have been arrested after Gardaí seized cannabis plants worth over €750,000 in a 'large-scale cannabis cultivation factory'. As part of an ongoing operation targeting the sale and supply of drugs, Gardaí attached to the Dublin Crime Response Team and Drogheda searched a premises in Louth and found a large-scale cannabis cultivation factory. Cannabis plants with an estimated street value of more than €750,000 were sized. Two men, aged in their 40s, were arrested at the scene and are currently being detained at Garda Stations in the north east of the country under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996. The drugs have been sent to Forensic Science Ireland for analysis. Gardaí said investigations are ongoing. Commenting on the investigation, Assistant Commissioner Cliona Richardson said: "The discovery and dismantling of this sophisticated cannabis cultivation operation will affect the ability of those involved to cause harm in our communities.
