48 arrests made by DWI Task Force over 2 days in El Paso County
According to the news release by the Sheriff's Office, 48 arrests were made in a two-day span.

Police are searching for multiple shooters who killed three people and wounded eight others in a shooting at a crowded Brooklyn lounge overnight. Multiple 911 calls came in around 3:30 a.m. reporting shots fired at Taste of the City in Brooklyn's Crown Heights neighborhood, New York City Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch said in a news conference early Sunday morning. Officers arrived on scene minutes later and found 11 gunshot victims inside the lounge. Three victims, a 27-year-old man, a 35-year-old man and a male victim whose age is unknown, were pronounced dead, Tisch said. The victims, eight males and three females, range in age from 27 to 61, she said. The remaining victims were taken to area hospitals, Tisch said. Their conditions were unknown early Sunday morning, police told CNN. Detectives found at least 36 shell casings at the scene, Tisch said, along with a firearm in the vicinity – they are working to determine whether it was connected to the shooting. Police believe multiple shooters were involved in the incident, and no suspects are in custody as of Sunday morning. This is an ongoing story and will be updated.

Three people are dead and at least eight are wounded following a mass shooting at a crowded lounge in Brooklyn. Multiple gunmen opened fire overnight inside the Taste of the City Lounge on Franklin Avenue in the Canarsie section of the borough, New York City police said Sunday. The NYPD said the shooting stemmed from a dispute between people inside the lounge. At least 36 shell casings were recovered from what appeared to be multiple guns, NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch said during a news conference at the scene. The victims' include eight men and three women, the NYPD said. Their ages range from 27 to 61 years old. Three men were pronounced dead at the scene and eight people were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries, Tisch said. So far, police have not made any arrests and investigators are trying to find surveillance video of the incident. Officer discovered a gun on nearby Bedford Avenue, but it was not immediately clear if it was part of the lounge shooting.

Toni Monroe, 35, allegedly struck a 14-year-old girl 'multiple times' with a water bottle during an altercation between the student and her 15-year-old daughter on Aug. 12 at Brentwood High School in Long Island, the Suffolk County police said in a news release. Police stated that the 14-year-old student was exiting the school when she and a 15-year-old girl exchanged words at around 11 a.m. local time. Monroe, who is the mother of the 15-year-old, then allegedly struck the 14-year-old several times with a metal water bottle before a security guard broke up the altercation. A short time later, the mother was arrested in the parking lot, according to the police news release. The injured 14-year-old was transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. The injured teenager has been identified as Brentwood High School student Madison Evans, per ABC 7 New York. In footage obtained by the outlet, two teenage girls are seen in a heated exchange at the school, before an individual believed to be Monroe is heard telling one of the girls, who appears to be her daughter, 'Give me your Stanley.' She then seems to strike the other girl repeatedly with the Stanley Cup, as she is heard screaming. Evans received a bloody gash on her forehead in the alleged attack, which required 17 stitches, per ABC 7 New York 'She threw a punch, I threw a punch back and we started fighting and her mom just came in and started beating me with the cup,' Evans said, per NBC New York. 'Next thing you know, I get pushed into the school and I saw blood dripping … I saw blood all over my hands.'
