Virat Kohli's sister gives befitting reply to fan questioning her strained relationship with the cricketer and his wife Anushka Sharma: ‘Don't need validation'
On Tuesday, when Virat Kohli's team Royal Challengers Bengaluru won the IPL trophy for the first time in 18 years, many took to their social media handles to praise the cricketer. Among those celebrating the moment was his sister Bhawna Kohli Dhingra. Followng her brother's much-awaited victory, Bhawna took to her Instagram handle to share a long note to congratulate her brother. The post attracted several reactions from fans with many praising the cricketer. However, one of the comments questioned Bhawna's alleged strained relationship with her brother Virat and sister-in-law Anushka Sharma.
A user commented, 'Why he never mention you in any speech or even don't like your post. Not even Anushka. Lol.' Replying to this, Bhawna wrote, 'May God give you the patience to understand love can exist in many ways which is not necessarily shown to world but it's still there like the love for almighty. Hope you have enough love in your life, no insecurities, only true bonds which don't need any validation. God Bless you.'
However, Bhawna Kohli Dhingra later deleted the comment. But, it had already caught the attention of Virat Kohli's fans, who widely circulated the screenshot of the now-deleted comment.
On June 3, Bhawna took to her Instagram handle to share a series of photos of her brother Virat Kohli from the Ahmedabad stadium, where RCB lifted the IPL trophy for the first time since its debut in 2007.
She captioned the post, 'This night this moment where we celebrate this dream which made us cry which made us laugh but the wait that you did is far too long each and every second of the moment needs to be experienced with stillness and a strange calmness that it's actually done.'
A post shared by Bhawna Kohli Dhingra (@bhawna_kohli_dhingra)
Bhawna added, 'All of us can't express the humility and thankfulness towards almighty and millions of fans who were right behind RCB through thick and thin this win is everybody's personal win .Your tears were felt in the eyes of everyone who loves you ,we cried with you because you my little Veeru are gods chosen one who brings so much joy and inspiration in everyone ,blessed to witness this and someone in heaven is smiling in his usual smile looking at his son making him proud.'
Post RCB's win, a parade was arranged from Bengaluru's Vidhana Soudha to Chinnaswamy Stadium. However, what was supposed to be a moment of celebration turned to tragedy after 11 people lost their lives and 47 sustained severe injuries due to a stampede.
A post shared by Virat Kohli (@virat.kohli)
Expressing grief, Virat Kohli re-posted RCB's official post regarding the incident. The statement read: 'We are deeply anguished by the unfortunate incidents that have come to light through media reports regarding public gatherings all over Bengaluru in anticipation of the team's arrival this afternoon. The safety and well-being of everyone is of utmost importance to us.'
It further read, 'RCB mourns the tragic loss of lives and extend our heartfelt condolences to the affected families. Immediately upon being made aware of the situation, we promptly amended our program, and followed, the guidance and advice of the local administration. We urge all our supporters to please stay safe.'

Scott Boland in dark about his spot in Australia's playing XI for WTC final
London [UK], June 6 (ANI): Australia's seasoned quick Scott Boland is still in the dark about his potential appearance in the World Test Championship final against South Africa on Tuesday at the Lord's, a venue where he would 'love' to play. With match figures of 5/105, the 36-year-old was one of Australia's premier pacers when they lifted their maiden WTC mace at The Oval in 2023 against India. He boosted his credentials against India by scalping 21 wickets in three appearances as Australia celebrated its first Border-Gavaskar Trophy triumph in a decade. Despite his exploits, Boland has found himself in a neck-to-neck battle with IPL-winning seamer Josh Hazlewood for one spot in the defending champions' pace setup against the Proteas. With less than a week left for the enticing contest, Boland has yet to receive the green light from the selectors about his spot in the playing XI. 'I haven't had any chats with them (selectors). My goal coming into the last two months is just to get myself and my body in the position where I can put my hand up and be ready to go if it (selection) goes my way,' Boland said in London on Thursday, as quoted from ICC. 'I probably felt like back into the Shield season (Australian domestic red-ball competition), my knee was sort of not wearing away but wasn't going how I wanted it to go and didn't feel like I was bowling how I wanted, but now I feel like I'm in a really good spot that I can bowl how I want to bowl. It's pulling up really well, so that's all I can do, and I just want to make that decision (for selectors) as hard as possible,' he added. Boland snuck his first training session with Australia on Wednesday while Hazlewood linked up with the team in London after his title-winning campaign with Royal Challengers Bengaluru on Thursday. The 36-year-old is aware of the carnage that a fully fit Hazlewood can inflict on the opposition. However, he pushed his case by citing his recent stellar performances for Australia in the Test format. 'I feel like I had a couple of really strong games (during the Border-Gavaskar series), but Josh is obviously a world-class bowler. He's one of the best bowlers in the world, coming off a really good IPL, so I'm sure he'll be doing the same thing here (to push his case for selection). Obviously, we all want to play, but there's probably not room for all of us,' Boland said. If Boland earns a spot in Australia's playing XI, he will make his first appearance at the iconic Lord's. For him, it will be a 'pretty special' moment to bowl at the 'Home of Cricket'. 'I'd love to play at Lord's. I think everyone's looking forward to getting there for training in a few days' time and then getting to the game, as it's a pretty special place for cricket,' he added. (ANI)
