As the Spider-Man 4 set photo deluge continues Tom Holland shares first official pictures, and fans are loving the new costume
With Spider-Man: Brand New Day now filming, we finally got a full look at Tom Holland's suit with the mask, and it's sending fans into a frenzy. Thanks to Glasgow locals flooding social media with leaked set photos, we've been able to see Spider-Man's new look from every angle possible, and it's everything we were hoping for.
As many fans have noted, the new suit seems to draw inspiration both from Tobey Maguire's early 2000s suit and Andrew Garfield's version in The Amazing Spider-Man. We are particularly excited to see the raised webbing coming back to the design, as the character leaves his high-tech era behind and goes back to his humble origins as the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man.
In a brief video released over the weekend, Holland revealed a first look at Spider-Man's new suit, minus the mask, getting ahead of the leaks from set that we saw shortly afterwards.
Following the set photo deluge, he also shared an official first look at the whole suit, writing in the caption: "Spider-Man Brand New Day 1".
As filming continues, we might be able to see first look footage from some very exciting cast members, some of them announced only a few days ago. Mark Ruffalo is set to reprise his role of The Hulk, making it his first MCU appearance since She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, while Michael Mando is coming back as the Scorpion after debuting as one of the bad guys in Spider-Man: Homecoming.
Holland will also be joined by Jon Bernthal's The Punisher, following his appearance in Daredevil: Born Again, and returning characters MJ and Ned, played by Zendaya and Jacob Batalon. Stranger Things star Sadie Sink is also part of the cast, but her role is still a mystery.
An official synopsis is yet to be revealed, but we expect the story to pick up from the Spider-Man: No Way Home ending, which saw Peter Parker's existence erased. After facing colossal challenges alongside the Avengers, Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige promised recently that Brand New Day will be focused on "street-level crime as opposed to world-ending events."

While it remains to be seen when the DC Universe's Batman will be introduced in The Brave and the Bold (or perhaps sooner), movement on Robert Pattinson's reprisal of the Caped Crusader continues at a steady pace. The Batman: Part II is still set for a 2027 release, and filmmaker Matt Reeves announced at the end of June that he'd finished the script. Now the upcoming DC movie has taken another big step forward, and this comes as villain rumors for Part II are swirling. The Batman: Part II Is Getting Ready To Begin Filming As shared by Productionlist, which is part of the Film & Television Industry Alliance, The Batman: Part II has entered preproduction and is set to begin filming on January 1, 2026 at Warner Bros. Leavesden in London. Its predecessor also shot in England's capital, so it's not surprising the sequel will roll cameras at that same WB location. As described in the announcement, the Leavsden facility provides access to ' high-end soundstages and set-building facilities—ideal for Gotham's gritty transformation and sweeping practical environments.' With five months to go until The Batman: Part II's principal photography kicks off, the remainder of 2024 will be spent organizing the project's departments, including production design, art direction, stunt coordination, costume, makeup, grip, lighting, camera, VFX, and post-production planning. It's also mentioned that casting calls and crew notices will start going out in the fall. The former is especially notable, as it means we'll likely learn which new actors are coming aboard for Part II before the year is done. James Gunn Has Been Shutting Down The Batman: Part II Villain Rumors It'll be nice when that casting information starts coming in, particularly when it comes to The Batman: Part II's villains. As is often the case with superhero movies, rumors have been running rampant about which baddies are going to cause trouble for Robert Pattinson's Dark Knight this time around. The latest bout of speculation points to Tommy Elliot, a.k.a. Hush, occupying the main antagonist position. James Gunn debunked that a few days ago, saying 'Again everything you've heard is a total guess or made up.' As the co-head of DC Studios, Gunn is one of the few people who knows what's being planned for The Batman: Part II, and he read through the script in early July. But outside of calling what Matt Reeves and Mattson Tomlin penned 'great,' he's naturally not willing to share any specific details about this highly-anticipated upcoming superhero movie. The only villain we know for sure will be present in Part II is Colin Farrell's Penguin, who was the focus of the Emmy-nominated miniseries that aired on HBO last year. Even Barry Keoghan's Joker is guaranteed to appear following his shadowy cameo in The Batman's ending. During a new interview for BBC Radio's 'Scott Mills Breakfast Show,' Carey was asked if she would 'fancy' going into space like fellow music superstar Katy Perry. 'Did she go to space?' Carey asked. 'Where'd she go?' Upon learning that the 'Fireworks' singer had gone into orbit briefly, Carey had more questions. 'She's like, floating?' Carey asked, before needing to reconfirm with another question: 'And this is true?' It is indeed true, since Perry was part of a well-documented, all-female crew who traveled aboard Blue Origin's suborbital space tourism mission in April. The other women included Lauren Sánchez, Gayle King, bioastronautics research scientist Amanda Nguyen, former NASA rocket scientist and CEO of STEMBoard Aisha Bowe and Kerianne Flynn, a film producer. Carey seemed impressed by Perry's achievement. 'Wow. Alright Katy,' Carey said. 'I'm not mad at her. That's pretty amazing.' When finally brought back around to the question of whether she would want to be the next pop star to go to space, Carey had a classic and unbothered response that only she could muster: 'I think I've done enough.'
