Buckingham Palace has been praised for delivering the "best response ever" to Jamie Laing and Sophie Habboo's contentious video which seemed to lampoon Meghan Markle.
Sophie, who is expecting, was filmed apparently twerking in a video shared by Jamie on Instagram, garnering a divided response yesterday. Critics on social media accused the couple, who tied the knot in April 2023, of attempting to imitate Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's renowned "twerking" footage captured just before the Duchess of Sussex's hospital birth.
Moments after Jamie posted his video, supposedly taken inside Buckingham Palace, the official Royal Instagram handle "theroyalfamily" commented: "We see you" accompanied by eye and wink emojis. Joining in on the banter, The King's Trust chimed in with a post saying: 'All of our attendees are very well behaved' followed by watching eyes and a laughing emoji.
In reaction to theroyalfamily's message, a supporter of Jamie responded: "best response ever! This really made me laugh." Another user exclaimed: "Brilliant," whilst tagging the account, reports the Mirror.
Nevertheless, some Instagrammers criticised Jamie, currently a presenter on BBC Radio One, labelling his mockery "disrespectful". The 36 year old personality, famed for his role in Made in Chelsea from 2011 to 2020, can be seen dancing next to Sophie in what seems like the corridors of Buckingham Palace.
His dance moves mirror those fleetingly seen by Prince Harry in a clip of Meghan that went viral earlier this month.
"The Royal Baby has arrived" caption overlaid the viral clip, which amassed over 50,000 likes on Instagram. However, some users were less enthusiastic – one commented: "Disrespectful," garnering a handful of seven likes.
Another voiced their dismay with: "Diabolical behaviour." A third fan expressed their let-down, saying: "Quite disappointing. I like you guys normally."
Fellow celebrities also weighed in with their thoughts. Influencer Kerry Villers remarked on Jamie's expression: "I feel like you can see Jamie's excitement to become a dad in his face and it's pure joy."
Tele presenter Rochelle Humes, formerly of The Saturdays, recounted her own rush to capture an image inside Buckingham Palace, noting: "The speed that this happened is genuinely impressive. I just about got mine in focus for a sneaky pic."
Sophie, known from 'Made in Chelsea' fame (2017-2022), is seen beaming and swaying with her partner on the stately red-carpeted staircase with Royal portraits surrounding them. While it was a playful breach of protocol, Royal aides took it in stride.
A palace insider reported to the Daily Mail seeing the lighter side: "I'm sure it was done in a spirit of fun, and of course aligned to Jamie's wonderful support for The King's Trust Awards - even if it's not something we would greatly encourage every guest to attempt."
Yesterday, Jamie was present at a Buckingham Palace reception, rubbing shoulders with the likes of George and Amal Clooney, to spotlight The King's Trust's annual awards, celebrating some of the charity's most remarkable success stories.

Christine McGuinness has VERY cryptic response as she's grilled about love life live on Loose Women - after crashing out of Celebs Go Dating because she's 'not ready for the scrutiny'
Christine McGuinness had a very cryptic response as she was grilled about her love life live on Thursday's episode of Loose Women. The 37-year-old appeared on the ITV show to chat to the panel alongside her Situationships podcast co-host Sophie Gravia. The pair opened up to Kaye Adams, 62, Oti Mabuse, 34, Jane Moore, 63, and Nadia Sawalha, 60, about what they chat about on the podcast - relationships and dating - which then got them chatting about their own experiences. Kaye asked: 'So Christine, what is your situation?' Christine - who split from ex husband Paddy McGuinness in 2022 - said: 'I'm situationship-less. 'You'll have to keep tuning into the podcast!' Kaye probed her and added: 'You're dating, aren't you?' She responded: 'I'm just having a nice time. Do you know what, I'm busy with kids, with work, I'm very happy. 'Like I said, you'll have to tune into the podcast.' Christine has been a single lady since she split with her husband Paddy McGuinness, 51, back in 2022. The former couple, who share three kids Leo, Penelope and Felicity, tied the knot in 2011 after they started dating in 2007. Christine was due to take part in this year's Celebs Go Dating, but last month it was revealed that she had quit. But last week Christine made a shock return to Celebs Go Dating on Tuesday night in a surprise U-turn. The model decided to quit the upcoming series of the E4 programme after realising it was too soon' for her to date so publicly following her divorce from Paddy. After stepping back from filming, the star decided to make a shock appearance at the finale in London on Tuesday last week. A insider told The Sun: 'Christine's return was kept top secret from everyone, so they were all so excited to see her come back. 'The cast were really sad when she quit the show, even though they totally supported and understood her reasons, so it was great to see her come back. 'Christine may not have found love on the show, but she seemed really happy and in a great place. 'Leaving the show was the right decision for her but she loved being back in the mix without the pressure of having to actually date on camera.' MailOnline contacted Channel 4 for comment. Christine announced the news that she had left the show back in May. She had already flown to Ibiza to begin filming the series with the rest of the cast but told fans she was 'returning home to her family' after having a change of heart. Revealing the news on Instagram, she said: 'I joined Celebs Go Dating with great intentions but have realised that dating on a public platform and the attention is brings is just too soon for me.' Christine announced she will no longer be appearing on the upcoming series of Celebs Go Dating after quitting the process Christine also said that she may appear in the future, adding: 'They've said the door is always open for me which I'm so grateful but for now I'm returning home to my family.' In July 2022 they revealed that they had split, after 11 years of marriage. The former couple still live together and co-parent their kids. Beaming Heather Locklear, 63, shows off her smooth complexion as she collects pet dog Mister from the groomers after split from fiancé
Heather Locklear showed off her smooth visage as she stepped out in Calabasas on Wednesday following her reported recent split from fiancé Chris Heisser. The American actress, 63, appeared to be in good spirits as she picked up her beloved pet pooch Mister from the groomers. Heather looked relaxed in a black tank top which she teamed with flared Nike sports trousers and flip flops. The Melrose Place star looked remarkably healthy after getting sober following an meltdown in 2018 that saw her arrested twice, placed on a psychiatric hold and her home declared a 'hazard' by local first responders. Heather is understood to be single after splitting from fiancé of many years in May. Heather and Chris, both 63, went to high school together in the 1970s and dated then. They reconnected in 2017 and got engaged in 2020 after a brief breakup in 2019. Heather Locklear showed off her smooth visage as she stepped out in Calabasas on Wednesday following her reported recent split from fiancé Chris Heisser 'Heather and Chris are no longer together,' a source told Us Weekly. 'Heather is single and she's ready to date again.' Another source added, 'She hasn't seen Chris since the New Year but wishes him all the best.' Reportedly nothing dramatic happened between the two long time friends, they just drifted apart like many couples do, the insider claimed. The last time he appeared on her Instagram page was in 2023. has reached out to Heather's representative for comment. Us Weekly 's first source called the demise of their engagement a 'slow fizzle.' 'They are not spending as much time with each other. It's minimal, the source continued. 'She's focusing on herself. She is sober and doing really well.' And the Melrose Place star is wasting any time moping around about the breakup. 'Heather's main focus is her sobriety, gardening, cooking, and spending quality time with her daughter Ava and her friends,' the source shared. The timing of the TJ Hooker actress' breakup is interesting because her ex-husband Tommy Lee also just split from his wife, Brittany Furlan. Heather was playing Sammy Jo on the wildly popular nighttime drama Dynasty, while Tommy was the drummer for one of the hottest bands of the 1980s, Mötley Crüe. They met at an REO Speedwagon concert in the 1980s, and when Tommy spotted Heather in the crowd, he was smitten. 'He took her hand and said, "Hi, I'm Tommy, nice to touch you." He got her phone number from his accountant's brother, a dentist who knew Locklear's dentist,' Rolling Stone reported. 'But the first time he called her up, he almost blew it. He told her, "Hey, check it out, you're on channel 2."' Locklear pointed out that it wasn't her on channel 2 – it was Heather Thomas, an actress she is frequently mistaken for. They had a whirlwind relationship and got engaged just a few months into their relationship when Heather popped the question to Tommy. They got married on May 10, 1986, at The Biltmore in Santa Barbara. They split in 1993 reportedly due to Tommy's infidelity. Heather went on to marry Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora while Tommy moved on with Pamela Anderson. In an interesting turn of events, Tommy, 62, recently split with his wife Brittany Furlan, 38. Sources close to Lee and Furla, told TMZ Thursday that the heavy metal staple and comic/influencer have not lived together the past two weeks. Furlan is unhappy with the Mötley Crüe member's drinking and has made numerous attempts to try to guide him to sobriety to no avail, insiders told the outlet. Other indicators surfaced via social media, as Lee posted a clip Thursday in which he said he was in the studio, creating a new track titled Stupid Girl. He captioned the post: 'Everything has its place and time and this one hits it right on the head Stupid girl!' Tasha Ghouri cheekily joins Jamie Laing and Sophie Habboo in breaking Buckingham Palace rules as she poses on the Grand Staircase after THAT eyebrow-raising video
Tasha Ghouri has joined Jamie Laing and Sophie Habboo in breaking Buckingham Palace rules on Wednesday as she shared photos from the King's Trust Awards. Former Made In Chelsea stars Jamie, 36, and Sophie, 30, raised eyebrows when they cheekily filmed themselves on the Grand Staircase at the Palace, which has been traversed by Kings and Queens, Princes and Princesses. The married couple - who are expecting their first baby together - filmed themselves recreating Harry and Meghan's famous 'Baby Mama' dance in the heart of the royal residence. The cheeky video came as a breach of Palace rules as guests were asked not to use their cameras inside Buckingham Palace during the star-studded King's Trust event. And now, Love Island star Tasha, 26, has joined in with the apparent rule-breaking antics as she too took to Instagram to share photographs of herself on the historic staircase. Leaning on the banister, Tasha beamed as she looked up at the historic artwork while posing for photos as she ascended the incredible staircase. The Strictly star didn't mention the rule break in her caption but simply gushed over meeting King Charles at the charity event. She penned: 'A lovely day yesterday with His Majesty, King Charles and had the honour of meeting the individuals who have achieved incredible things being a part of the @kingstrust programme! Today we celebrate you all!' On Wednesday, Jamie and Sophie had revealed they bent the rules by cheekily filming on the royal staircase - prompting a surprising response from officials. The couple recreated Harry and Meghan's by now infamous 'Baby Mama' dance, but it is unclear whether it was a dig at the former royals. Four years ago, they sparked huge debate after the Duchess of Sussex posted a video on Instagram of them doing the viral craze four years ago in the delivery suite shortly before she gave birth to their daughter, Princess Lilibet. Seemingly channeling the couple with their own video, Jamie wrote: 'They said we couldn't film in Buckingham Palace.' While the moment was most definitely a breach in protocol and could have sparked a royal meltdown, palace aides fortunately found the funny side. Its official Instagram account 'theroyalfamily' replied to the post, saying: 'We see you' accompanied by a pair of eyes and a wink emojis. Guests were asked not to photograph on the Grand Staircase, which was built for Queen Victoria, and breaking the rule, Tasha leaned on the banister looking up at the historic artwork The King's Trust entered the conversation in the spirit of the occasion, saying: 'All of our attendees are very well behaved' with the same look and a laughing emoji. However, p resenter Fearne Cotton, who was also a guest, said: 'You also had your pap camera out with a flash. Think of what the flash has done to those priceless paintings.' Proof that no offence was taken, a palace aide told the Mail: 'I'm sure it was done in a spirit of fun, and of course aligned to Jamie's wonderful support for The King's Trust Awards - even if it's not something we would greatly encourage every guest to attempt.' Referring to 'theroyalfamily' account's official response, they added most definitely with tongue-in-cheek: 'Proof that from time to time the Royal Family account has a sense of humour too. 'As for Jamie, may we recommend a visit to the Tower of London. Hashtag Winkyfacelolz.' The King's Trust was set up by King Charles when he was Prince of Wales in 1976 to help disadvantaged young people get back into education, work and training. It has since gone on to help more than one million young people and is considered one of the biggest and most effective charities of its kind in the country. It comes after MailOnline exclusively revealed that Tasha is in a new romance with a CBBC presenter. While the moment was most definitely a breach in protocol and could have sparked a royal meltdown, palace aides fortunately found the funny side The reality star fell victim to the Strictly curse in January, splitting from long-term partner Andrew Le Page, 30, just weeks after she finished runner-up on the show. But now, four months after their breakup, Tasha has moved on with YouTuber Cam Whitnall, 29, who stars in CBBC series One Zoo Three and BBC show OZT Goes Wild alongside his brothers Ty and Aaron. Cam, whose family run Hertfordshire Zoo, is the managing director of a non-profit charity, The Big Cat Sanctuary, which rescues wild cats and protects species at risk of extinction. The influencer boasts an enormous following on both YouTube and TikTok thanks to his insightful videos showing a range of animals in their natural habitats. MailOnline understands the new couple have bonded over their love for animals after Tasha rescued her dog, Luna, who she previously shared with Andrew, from Spanish charity Alora Dog Rescue and Homeward Bound. Tasha has been single since January when she joined dating app Raya shortly after her split from Andrew, who she had been in a relationship with for over two years. The couple met on Love Island in 2022 and went onto purchase a house together which they were renovating before going their separate ways.
