OPEN// FM reiterates Egypt's support of territorial unity of Palestinian lands
He underlined the importance of restoring all legitimate rights of the Palestinians, including their right to self determination and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The top diplomat gave the remarks during a meeting with Secretary General of the Central Committee of the Palestinian Fatah movement Jibril Rajoub to discuss developments in the West Bank and Gaza.
During the talks, Abdelatty reviewed the latest developments of ceasefire negotiations in Gaza and the delivery of humanitarian aid to the enclave.
He underscored the international community's responsibility to halt the catastrophic deterioration of the humanitarian situation in Gaza and to end Israel's ongoing aggression against the coastal enclave.
Abdelatty highlighted Egypt's preparations to host an international conference on early recovery and reconstruction in Gaza in cooperation with the United Nations and the Palestinian government once a ceasefire agreement is reached.
This initiative aligns with Egypt's steadfast support of the Palestinian people and its commitment to providing comprehensive humanitarian and relief assistance to Palestinians in Gaza, he said.
Abdelatty listened to Rajoub's assessment of the situation in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, as well as his views on the prospects for implementing the two-state solution.
Rajoub praised Egypt's support of Palestinians at all levels, especially its mediation efforts to reach a ceasefire agreement in Gaza and facilitate the entry of humanitarian aid. (MENA)

Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty held a series of high-level diplomatic calls this week aimed at reducing regional tensions, the Foreign Ministry stated Wednesday. Abdelatty spoke with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, US Special Envoy for the Middle East Steve Witkoff, and International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director General Rafael Grossi. The discussions focused on advancing peaceful solutions to regional crises, including the need to resume stalled talks over Iran's nuclear programme. Abdelatty stressed that there is no military solution to the ongoing disputes and underscored the importance of de-escalation and diplomacy, particularly between Iran and Israel. The calls come amid renewed uncertainty around nuclear negotiations. On Monday, Iran stated it had 'no specific date' set for a meeting with the US regarding its nuclear programme, following its conflict with Israel that derailed previous talks. 'For now, no specific date, time or location has been determined,' Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei said of a possible meeting between Araghchi and Witkoff. On Saturday, Iran said it was reviewing conditions for resuming talks, while insisting on its right to enrich uranium. Tehran began enriching uranium to 60 percent in 2021—well above the 3.67 percent limit set by the 2015 nuclear deal, but below the 90 percent needed for weapons-grade material. On Gaza Abdelatty also discussed Gaza with Witkoff, reiterating Egypt's push for a comprehensive ceasefire and a captive-prisoner exchange to allow for urgent humanitarian aid access to the war-devastated enclave. On Sunday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said his government was working toward a 60-day ceasefire in the Strip. Egypt is currently hosting delegations from Egypt, Qatar, and Israel for two days of talks in Cairo, focused on delivering aid and advancing ceasefire efforts. Indirect negotiations between Israel and Hamas resumed last week in Doha, though core disagreements persist. Abdelatty reaffirmed Egypt's rejection of proposals to establish a 'humanitarian city' in southern Gaza or make any demographic changes to the occupied Palestinian territories. He also presented Cairo's proposal to host an international conference on early recovery and reconstruction, aligned with the Arab-Islamic plan for rebuilding Gaza after a ceasefire is secured. Witkoff praised Egypt's role under President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi in promoting regional security and described Egypt as a key US strategic partner. UAE launches largest water supply project from Egypt to southern Gaza
The UAE has announced it will launch the largest water supply project from Egypt's Rafah border to the Gaza Strip, coming as part of its ''Operation Chivalrous Knight III' to provide urgent aid to Gaza, according to a press release. It is slated to provide up to 15 liters of desalinated water per person daily, benefiting up to 600,000 people in need within Gaza. The war on Gaza has destroyed up to 80 percent of its water infrastructure, according to the press release. The press release added that the campaign officially revealed, during a press conference held at the Coastal Municipalities Water Utility (CMWU) headquarters in Deir al-Balah, that construction has begun on the 315 mm water transmission line spanning 6.7 kilometers. The media director for Operation Chivalrous Knight III in Gaza, Sharif al-Nayrab, said in a statement, 'This new water pipeline is more than a rapid response to the urgent thirst crisis in Gaza; it is a continuation of the UAE's unwavering commitment to supporting the Palestinian people, particularly in the face of the humanitarian disaster caused by war.' He added that the UAE has spearheaded numerous relief efforts for Gaza, including, 'building desalination stations and delivering water tankers to drilling wells and maintaining water networks'. The Deputy Director-General of the Coastal Municipalities Water Utility for Technical Affairs, Omar Shatat, hailed the UAE's tireless humanitarian work since the war on Gaza broke out. A civil society representative in Gaza, Khalil Abu Shammala, also praised the UAE and its vital role in relief efforts, especially through 'Operation Chivalrous Knight III', according to the press release.
