Rs 10 lakh insurance compensation handed over to families of Yakshagana artistes in Mangaluru

MANGALURU: Over the past three years, the Yaksha Dhruva Patla Foundation, led by Patla Satish Shetty, sponsored free accident insurance for thousands of artistes from the Yakshagana, theatre, Daivaradhane, and Kambala sectors in association with the Mangaluru Postal Division. Insurance compensation of Rs 10 lakh each was handed over to the families of Yakshagana artistes Anand and Praveeth, who died in accidents. At a function held at the office of the Senior Superintendent of Post Offices in Balmatta, Patla Satish Shetty participated as the chief guest and handed over the cheques. Speaking on the occasion, he said that the Foundation implemented various welfare schemes for artistes from different fields and that many artistes and their families benefitted. He added that this would not have been possible without the dedicated efforts of all the office-bearers and members of the Foundation. He also thanked the postal department staff for not only helping in issuing the insurance policies with utmost sincerity and discipline over the last three years but also for ensuring quick settlement of claims. Presiding over the programme, Sudhakar Mallya, Senior Superintendent of Post Offices, Mangaluru Division, congratulated the Patla Foundation and Mangalore Press Club for their efforts in extending postal services as a form of public service.
