Steelers Legend Makes Surprising Aaron Rodgers Prediction: ‘Real Ugly, Real Fast'
Former Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker James Harrison has a bold prediction for quarterback Aaron Rodgers in 2025.
It's difficult to predict what version of 41-year-old quarterback Aaron Rodgers the Pittsburgh Steelers are getting in 2025. But former Steelers linebacker James Harrison doesn't have a lot of confidence that it will be a good one.

'I think they can make it work if they winning,' Harrison said on the 'Nightcap' podcast. 'If they start losing and it's looking like they ain't gonna make above .500, I think it gets real ugly, real fast. To the point of they may just be like, 'You know what, let's let this dude go midseason. For Aaron, let's just get him outta here and put one of these other quarterbacks in.''
Cutting Rodgers would be very surprising, especially after the Steelers waited several months for him to sign with them this offseason.
Parting ways with Rodgers midseason wouldn't benefit Pittsburgh financially, either. His one-year, $13.65 million contract includes $10 million guaranteed, so the four-time NFL MVP would have to make things very uncomfortable to make the team move on.

Still, the 2025 season is all about going out on a good note for Rodgers after he had a very disappointing two-year stint with the New York Jets.

In 2023, he suffered a season-ending torn Achilles on just the fourth offensive snap of the year. And then last season, he led the Jets to a 5-12 finish.
So it's safe to assume he would do whatever it takes to not be released in what he believes will be his final season in the NFL.
'Yeah, I'm pretty sure this is it,' Rodgers said. 'You know, that's why we just did a one-year deal. The Steelers didn't need to put any extra years on that or anything, so this was really about finishing with a lot of love and fun and peace for the career that I've had. I mean, I've played 20 freaking years. It's been a long run and I've enjoyed it. What better place to finish than (with) one of the cornerstone franchises of the NFL.'

PHOENIX (AP) — Agustín Ramírez hit a run-scoring single in the 10th inning, Heriberto Hernández had a tying sacrifice fly in the ninth and the Miami Marlins stretched their winning streak to six games with an 8-7 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks on Saturday. Arizona led 7-3 entering the eighth inning, but Miami's Otto Lopez hit a two-run homer off Jalen Beeks and Liam Hicks followed with a run-scoring single to pull Miami to 7-6. BOSTON (AP) — Wilyer Abreu hit a three-run homer in the first inning to jump start Boston's offense, Ceddanne Rafaela added a two-run shot in the sixth, and the Red Sox snapped a season-high six-game losing streak on Saturday with a 15-1 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays. Romy Gonzalez also had a two-run homer for the Red Sox, who halted their worst skid since September 2022.
