'Corona Capital is not just a festival — it's a bridge between cultures, emotions, and generations,' Memo Parra, director of international events at OCESA, tells Billboard Español. 'Since 2010, it has evolved into one of the most important festivals in the world, attracting thousands of fans from every corner of the globe to Mexico.'
Parra emphasized that, with an attendance of 255,000 people per edition and a team of over 5,000 making it possible, Corona Capital is 'living proof of the power of music to bring us together.'
Close to 70 artists and bands make up the 2025 lineup, including Aurora, Damiano David, James, Of Monsters and Men, AFI, Jerry Cantrell, Jehnny Beth, TV On The Radio, 4 Non Blondes, Circa Waves, Mogwai, Shermanology, Jordan Rakei, Kadavar and The Struts, among others.
But the participation of Deftones will undoubtedly be one of the standout moments. The last time the Sacramento, California-based rock band performed in Mexico City was in 2014. In an interview with Billboard Español published in February, vocalist Chino Moreno said that they were in talks for what could be their big return to the country.
Another highly anticipated act is Queens of the Stone Age, who had to cancel its 2024 shows — including one at the Corona Capital festival — due to health issues affecting singer and guitarist Josh Homme.
'What truly sets Corona Capital apart is its musical curation: a carefully crafted selection that has made music the backbone of the festival,' Parra adds, highlighting that people come not only to see their favorite artists, but also to 'discover new sounds and be surprised.'
Corona Capital will take place in the context of the centennial celebration of the beer Corona, the festival's sponsor. Leading up to the event in November, celebrations will be held in several cities across the country under the name Corona Capital Sessions.
The presale for Banamex cardholders will take place on Friday (June 6), with the general sale beginning the following day.
In its 15 years of existence, Corona Capital has solidified itself as the most important international music festival in Mexico, and one of the few in Latin America featuring major English-speaking bands. In the past, it has hosted renowned acts such as Paul McCartney, Jack White, The Cure, Muse, Blur, Nine Inch Nails, Portishead, Interpol, Billie Eilish, Pixies and Richard Ashcroft.
'More than 500 international artists have taken the stage, performing for a curious, open-minded, and passionate crowd that has helped us build a space where inclusion, social impact, and Mexican cultural traditions are celebrated and shared with the world,' Parra says.

PEACEMAKER Star John Cena Explains His Last Minute Call From James Gunn to Cameo in SUPERMAN — GeekTyrant
John Cena is at the forefront of DC's resurgence under the guidance of James Gunn. He plays Peacemaker, who we first saw in Gunn's The Suicide Squad . Peacemaker has returned for a series that follows the anti-hero as he 'returns home after recovering from his encounter with Bloodsport - only to discover that his freedom comes at a price.' But ahead of his return in the second season of his show later this month, we got to see him for a brief cameo in Gunn's DC summer blockbuster Superman . Cena opened up about the cameo in a recent video, which you can check out below, and he said of the experience: "I was called in at the final hour as we were preparing for Peacemaker season 2. I did the costume fittings for the new Peacemaker season 2 wardrobe. They were filming Superman at the time, and James [Gunn] asked me if I wanted to be involved, and my answer was, 'Heck yes!'. So I got to go on a talk show and talk some smack about Superman." When asked why he thinks Superman is iconic, Cena responded: "Well, I think everything from the branding to the idea of a true virtuous superhero, you have to start the story of good and evil somewhere, and I think Superman is building block one of that." Superman is still playing in theaters, and Peacemaker season 2 premieres on HBO on August 21st.

Cops called as Denise Richards shows up at ex's home amid restraining order
The cops were called on Denise Richards Sunday when the reality star allegedly showed up at the home of her estranged husband, Aaron Phypers, despite a restraining order the reality star has taken out amid their divorce battle. A divorce lawyer for the 'Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' alum, 54, told TMZ that Richards only arrived at the Calabasas home Sunday 'after confirming that Mr. Phypers was not present,' and did so 'to retrieve her dogs after learning that Mr. Phypers had put down one of her other dogs without her knowledge or permission.' Phypers, who denies Richards' recent claims of longstanding physical abuse, told the outlet that everything the 'Wild Things' star claimed was 'absolutely false. 'Denise's actions are willfully intentional in the slander and destruction of what is left of a family,' continued the 52-year-old 'frequency medicine' practitioner. 'This is after Denise chose to carry on an adulterous affair — after being caught not once, not twice, but three times.' Photos published by the outlet show the OnlyFans star speaking to a trio of deputies outside the home, which is owned by Phypers, his parents and brother. One image shows Phypers speaking to one of the officers, while another shows him hugging his elderly mother. Phypers, who wed Richards in 2018, filed for divorce July 7, three days after he said they separated. Richards has claimed he 'would frequently violently choke' her and subject her to other forms of physical abuse, including leaving her with a black eye in 2022. She was granted a restraining order against Phypers, which lasts until their scheduled court appearance on Aug. 8, and orders him to stay 100 yards from Richards, her home, car and place of business. Richards last week accused Phypers of disseminating her texts and illegally leaking her nude photos. 'Mr. Phypers has continued to harass Ms. Richards since being served with the Temporary Restraining Order by, among other things, disseminating private information from Ms. Richards' cell phone and laptop, which he stole,' her lawyer alleged in a statement to multiple outlets in late July. 'These actions continue to disturb Ms. Richards' peace. … Ms. Richards will not be responding to Mr. Phypers' false allegations in a public forum and will be addressing Mr. Phypers' abuse in Court.'
