Austin Butler's "Caught Stealing" Sets 2025 Release, "Insidious 6" Pushed Back to August 2026
Sony Pictures Sony has given the August 29 release date originally set for 'Insidious 6″ to the Darren Aronofsky-directed "Caught Stealing", starring Austin Butler.
The next 'Insidious' entry has been pushed nearly a year, to August 21, 2026.
The next installment of the Blumhouse Productions horror property, co-produced by Screen Gems, was confirmed to be in the works in May 2024.
No further details were shared at the time.
The latest 'Insidious' film, 'The Red Door,' saw series star Patrick Wilson return and also make his feature directorial debut.
It was released July 7, 2023, and grossed $189 million worldwide against a $16 million budget.
The incoming entry is different from 'Thread: An Insidious Tale,' an in-universe series spin-off that was first announced in May 2023 and is said to star Mandy Moore and Kumail Nanjiani, with Jeremy Slater attached to write and direct.
Barring no other 'Insidious' installments releasing before this newly announced one, this would mark the sixth entry in the horror franchise and the first since 'Insidious: The Red Door,'.
Since launching in 2010 with director James Wan, the 'Insidious' franchise has collectively grossed more than $730 million globally.
While the franchise has played musical chairs over the years with distributors, moving from FilmDistrict to Focus Features to Universal to Sony, Jason Blum's Blumhouse Productions has been behind every installment, co-producing with various other production banners.
Screen Gems returns for the newly announced feature entry after joining 'Insidious: The Red Door.'
Ahead of the release of 'The Red Door,' Blum gave an interview with DiscussingFilm in which he teased a lengthy hiatus for the franchise, saying that that fifth entry 'Is going to be the last we're going to see of 'Insidious' for a while' and that 'It may not be a forever rest, but it's certainly going to be a very long rest. … There's not a plan — as there has been with every prior 'Insidious' movie — there's no current plan in place for number six.'
In the release moves, Sony also announced that an untitled Marvel film, originally set for a June 27 premiere, has been removed from the release calendar.
The decision comes after their 'Spider-Man' spinoff 'Kraven the Hunter' bombed.
It was released on December 12 and grossed $61 million worldwide against a budget north of $110 million.

Tom Holland Unveils "Spider-Man: Brand New Day" Set Photos as Production Begins
Yara Sameh Tom Holland is giving fans a brand new look at 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day.' Holland shared Sunday on Instagram two on-set photos with the caption, ''Spider-Man Brand New Day' 1.' Both pics show the actor in costume as the web-slinging hero. He is standing on top of what appears to be an armored vehicle while connected to a stunt wire. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Tom Holland (@tomholland2013) Holland's post comes just a day after Sony shared a video on social media of the new Spidey Suit for 'Brand New Day.' The footage sees Holland emerge from the shadows in his new ensemble, which more closely resembles the comic-book version than his previous duds. 'We ready?' Holland asks in the video. The new Spidey Suit has more vivid reds and blues, and features a larger spider symbol than his costumes from 'Spider-Man: Homecoming,' 'Far From Home' and 'No Way Home.' 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' hits theaters on July 31, 2026. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Spider-Man (@spidermanmovie) 'Brand New Day' marks the fourth MCU Spider-Man installment from Sony and Disney after 2021's 'Spider-Man: No Way Home.' In that film, Peter Parker's secret identity is revealed to the entire world, and the young hero must turn to Benedict Cumberbatch's Doctor Strange for help. He manages to conjure a spell that makes everyone forget Parker is Spider-Man, but not without some unintended side effects. The spell pulls other web-slingers and their respective villains into Parker's dimension, leading to the viral moment between Holland and Sony's previous Spider-Men, Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield. 'Brand New Day' is based on the Spider-Man comic storyline of the same name. In the comic book story, Parker lands a deal with Mephisto to make the world forget he is Spider-Man and resurrect Aunt May. However, the spell essentially reboots his world and dissolves his marriage with MJ. 'Shang-Chi' helmer Destin Daniel Cretton serves as director on 'Brand New Day.' Jon Bernthal's the Punisher and Mark Ruffalo's Bruce Banner, aka the Hulk, will also appear in the movie. read more New Tourism Route To Launch in Old Cairo Ahmed El Sakka-Led Play 'Sayidati Al Jamila' to Be Staged in KSA on Dec. 6 Mandy Moore Joins Season 2 of "Dr. Death" Anthology Series Don't Miss These Movies at 44th Cairo Int'l Film Festival Today Amr Diab to Headline KSA's MDLBEAST Soundstorm 2022 Festival Arts & Culture Mai Omar Stuns in Latest Instagram Photos Arts & Culture "The Flash" to End with Season 9 Arts & Culture Ministry of Culture Organizes four day Children's Film Festival Arts & Culture Canadian PM wishes Muslims Eid-al-Adha News Israeli-Linked Hadassah Clinic in Moscow Treats Wounded Iranian IRGC Fighters Arts & Culture "Jurassic World Rebirth" Gets Streaming Date News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia Business Egyptian Pound Undervalued by 30%, Says Goldman Sachs Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Arts & Culture South Korean Actress Kang Seo-ha Dies at 31 after Cancer Battle Arts & Culture Lebanese Media: Fayrouz Collapses after Death of Ziad Rahbani Sports Get to Know 2025 WWE Evolution Results

Here's Our First Look at "Spider-Man: Brand New Day"
Yara Sameh Tom Holland's new Spider-Man suit received the briefest teaser in a short video for Marvel and Sony's upcoming 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day.' A nine-second video shows a close-up of Holland's Spidey suit with the caption 'something brand new is coming.' It was posted on August 1, which happens to be National Spider-Man Day. At the end of 'Spider-Man: No Way Home,' there's a quick shot of Holland swinging through New York City in a new suit that resembles the classic, bright red-and-blue costume from the comics. At first glance, the 'Brand New Day' teaser seems like it's similar to that costume, with its sharper colors and raised black edges. There is also a faint, black spider webbing design that's a nod to the original Marvel comics. Marvel fans will have to wait a year for 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day,' which is the next entry in the MCU. Holland will suit up and swing back into theaters on July 31, 2026. The fourth 'Spider-Man' film is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton from a screenplay by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers. Cretton previously collaborated with MCU on 2021's 'Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.' That Marvel film was praised for its crazy kung-fu action sequences and story, which seems like a great fit for Holland's wall-crawling superhero. 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' will see the return of fellow franchise stars like Zendaya, who plays Peter Parker's girlfriend M.J. Jones-Watson, and Jacob Batalon, who's his best friend Ned Leeds. There are some major additions to the cast as well, like Jon Bernthal, who plays the violent Punisher. He was last seen in Season 1 of 'Daredevil: Born Again' and is expected to return for Season 2, along with a TV special. Bernthal's 'The Bear' co-star Liza Colón-Zayas is also joining 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day,' as is 'Stranger Things' standout Sadie Sink. Their roles remain mysteries, but fans have theorized Sink could be playing the red-haired 'X-Men' character Jean Grey, who's a powerful telepath. The last time Holland suited up as Spidey was in 2021's 'No Way Home,' which saw past Spider-Men Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield cross over into the MCU. After the heroes defeated several multiversal villains, Benedict Cumberbatch's Doctor Strange casted a spell that made everyone in the world forget that Peter Parker is Spider-Man. read more New Tourism Route To Launch in Old Cairo Ahmed El Sakka-Led Play 'Sayidati Al Jamila' to Be Staged in KSA on Dec. 6 Mandy Moore Joins Season 2 of "Dr. Death" Anthology Series Don't Miss These Movies at 44th Cairo Int'l Film Festival Today Amr Diab to Headline KSA's MDLBEAST Soundstorm 2022 Festival Arts & Culture Mai Omar Stuns in Latest Instagram Photos Arts & Culture "The Flash" to End with Season 9 Arts & Culture Ministry of Culture Organizes four day Children's Film Festival Arts & Culture Canadian PM wishes Muslims Eid-al-Adha News Israeli-Linked Hadassah Clinic in Moscow Treats Wounded Iranian IRGC Fighters Arts & Culture "Jurassic World Rebirth" Gets Streaming Date News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia Business Egyptian Pound Undervalued by 30%, Says Goldman Sachs Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Arts & Culture South Korean Actress Kang Seo-ha Dies at 31 after Cancer Battle Arts & Culture Lebanese Media: Fayrouz Collapses after Death of Ziad Rahbani Sports Get to Know 2025 WWE Evolution Results

"The Medium" Video Game Film Adaptation in Works
Yara Sameh Coin Operated, the horror-centric banner founded by It and Annabelle writer-producer Gary Dauberman, has secured the screen rights to "The Medium," the award-winning video game created by European developer Bloober Team. Dauberman and Mia Maniscalco, his president at Coin Operated, will produce the adaptation through the banner. A search for a writer and a director for the project is underway. Set in the post-communist era of Poland in the 1990s and taking place mostly in a fictional abandoned hotel in Krakow, the game tells of a woman named Marianna, imbued with psychic abilities, who is called to unravel the mystery of the death of an innocent child. The game was praised for its visuals and its dystopian surrealist style, inspired by the works of painter Zdzisław Beksiński. It also earned praise for its original soundtrack, created by Arkadiusz Reikowski and Akira Yamaoka. Bloober, run by CEO Piotr Babieno, has published a mix of original and franchise games, from "Observer: System Redux" to the award-winning "Silent Hill 2". 'With its compelling story and incredibly cinematic visuals, The Medium is a natural for a feature film adaptation,' said Dauberman in a statement. Dauberman previously worked on adapting horror video game "Until Dawn," directed by David F. Sandberg, which Screen Gems released earlier this spring. 'When I talked to Piotr about it, we immediately connected on our mutual love of horror and his vision for where the genre is headed. I have no doubt anything Bloober develops is going to push horror forward in unique and terrifying ways, and I'm excited to be working alongside them,' continued Dauberman. Stated Babieno, 'Adapting games into films often involves balancing many interests, but with The Medium, I have a deep sense that Gary is the perfect partner for us. From our very first conversation, I felt we were completely in sync. And every conversation since has only reinforced that feeling.' Dauberman is the triple threat filmmaker behind some of the biggest horror franchises of the past decade, including "It," "Annabelle," and "The Nun." His company is currently developing a modern era reboot of "Urban Legend," based on Screen Gems' 1990s slasher movie of the same name, with Shanrah Wakefield set to write the script; Human Remains, a new horror film from writer Zachary Donohue; and Ushers, based on Joe Hill's short story for Screen Gems being adapted by Zak Olkewicz. read more New Tourism Route To Launch in Old Cairo Ahmed El Sakka-Led Play 'Sayidati Al Jamila' to Be Staged in KSA on Dec. 6 Mandy Moore Joins Season 2 of "Dr. Death" Anthology Series Don't Miss These Movies at 44th Cairo Int'l Film Festival Today Amr Diab to Headline KSA's MDLBEAST Soundstorm 2022 Festival Arts & Culture Mai Omar Stuns in Latest Instagram Photos Arts & Culture "The Flash" to End with Season 9 Arts & Culture Ministry of Culture Organizes four day Children's Film Festival Arts & Culture Canadian PM wishes Muslims Eid-al-Adha News Israeli-Linked Hadassah Clinic in Moscow Treats Wounded Iranian IRGC Fighters Arts & Culture "Jurassic World Rebirth" Gets Streaming Date News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia Business Egyptian Pound Undervalued by 30%, Says Goldman Sachs Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Arts & Culture South Korean Actress Kang Seo-ha Dies at 31 after Cancer Battle Arts & Culture Lebanese Media: Fayrouz Collapses after Death of Ziad Rahbani Sports Get to Know 2025 WWE Evolution Results
