
Funeral to be held for 'bright and talented' teen who died in beach 'stabbing'
The 16-year-old from East Kilbride was found seriously injured on Irvine beach around 6.45pm on Saturday, May 17.
He received medical care at the scene but died in hospital the following day.
Following his death, Kayden's dad, Paul Moy, shared a tribute to his son on social media, saying: 'My first born son, my big boy, my best friend, my main man, my everything. Rest easy, my boy.'
The teenager was described as a 'kind and caring young man' by Duncanrig Secondary School headteacher Annette Alexander, where Kayden was a former pupil.
A service for the teenager will take place at the Linn Crematorium in Glasgow on Friday at 10am before moving on to Philipshill Cemetery in East Kilbride.
Kayden's former football team, Busby AFC, shared the details of his funeral in a Facebook post.
The football team paid tribute to the 'bright, kind and talented' teen and invited family and friends of the club community to attend and celebrate Kayden's life.
A club spokesperson said: 'His passing is felt deeply by everyone connected to our community.
'We're keeping Paul, Ashley, Danny, the boys, and everyone who loved Kayden in our thoughts and prayers as they go through this tough time.'
Three teenagers, two aged 17 and one aged 14, have been charged with Kayden's murder.

A knifeman went on a rampage at a primary school in southern China, leaving children on the floor in pools of blood. Video footage showed locals surrounding a girl lying on the road bleeding. The video, which has been shared widely online, is understood to have been filmed in Lytham, Lancashire. It shows the man wearing only the mask and a pair of black‑and‑white trainers as he walks along a row of residential homes. Lancashire Police said the incident took place at about 12.50am on July 18 in the area of Westby Street, Cleveland Road and Bannister Street, despite claims on Facebook it happened later in the month. A spokesman said: 'We are aware of a concerning video circulating on social media of a naked male wearing a face covering walking around Lytham in the early hours of the morning. 'This incident was not initially reported to police and has only been brought to our attention after it has been viewed on Facebook. 'Fylde Rural Task Force are currently conducting CCTV and house‑to‑house inquiries and would like to reassure you that we are taking this matter seriously.'
