Top Pitching Performance of the Week
Abner Uribe had another great week, going four innings over four appearances and tying Brandon Woodruff for the team lead with eight strikeouts. DL Hall also did a great job from the bullpen on Sunday, relieving Quinn Priester for 3 2/3 scoreless innings to keep the Brewers in the game as the offense made the comeback.
Top Hitting Performance of the Week
Isaac Collins. Don't think I need to say much more, but I will anyway. In six games this week, the reigning NL Rookie of the Month led the team in nearly every statistical category, including 10 hits, two homers, two doubles, a triple, eight RBIs, and six runs scored. He hit .476/.577/.952, adding a steal as well. Oh, and he hit a walkoff homer Sunday afternoon to push the win streak to nine.
Injury Notes & Roster Moves
Shelby Miller, who was acquired from the D-backs at the trade deadline, made a quick one-outing rehab assignment at Triple-A Nashville before being activated this week, making his MLB debut over the weekend against the Mets. RHP Easton McGee was optioned to Triple-A Nashville, opening up a spot for the return of Miller.
RHP Logan Henderson was put on the IL on Friday ahead of his scheduled start Saturday with right elbow inflammation. His current return is TBD, but an MRI did bring good news, showing that his UCL is intact. Best-case scenario is that Henderson would resume throwing in mid-August. RHP Tobias Myers took his place in the rotation after being recalled from Nashville.
The Brewers made a couple of minor moves this week, acquiring RHP Austin Roberts from the Marlins for cash considerations. The team also signed free agent LHP Raúl Alcantara and RHP Travis MacGregor to minor league contracts over the weekend. All three have been assigned to Double-A Biloxi.

Dansby Swanson delivers as the Chicago Cubs edge the Pittsburgh Pirates 4-3
CHICAGO — Dansby Swanson hit a tiebreaking sacrifice fly in the eighth inning, and the Chicago Cubs beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 4-3 on Sunday in the rubber game of the weekend series. Pete Crow-Armstrong and Ian Happ each had two hits for Chicago, which had dropped four of five before a 3-1 victory Saturday. Next up is a big five-game series against major league-leading Milwaukee, beginning with a split doubleheader Monday at Wrigley Field. The Cubs are eight games back of the Brewers in the NL Central. Chicago had runners on second and third with one out in the eighth when Isaac Mattson (3-2) issued an intentional walk to Nico Hoerner. Swanson followed with a flyball to right, driving in Carson Kelly. Caleb Thielbar (3-3) got one out for the win, and Andrew Kittredge pitched a 1-2-3 ninth for his first save. Pittsburgh trailed 2-1 before Joey Bart lined a two-run double into the corner in left in the sixth. Ronny Simon's two-out single put runners on the corners, but Ben Brown escaped the jam when Spencer Horwitz bounced to second. Chicago tied it at 3 on Carson Kelly's bloop single in the bottom half, driving in Seiya Suzuki. The Cubs had the bases loaded with two down, but Swanson flied to right for the final out of the inning. The Pirates wasted a prime scoring opportunity in the eighth. Batting with a runner on third and one out, Bart struck out swinging against Brown. Isiah Kiner-Falefa then walked before Thielbar fanned Ronny Simon for the final out of the inning. The Pirates went 3 for 13 with runners in scoring position and left 10 on base. Pirates: RHP Paul Skenes (7-9, 2.13 ERA) starts Monday night in the opener of a three-game series against Toronto. RHP Kevin Gausman (8-9, 3.79 ERA) goes for the AL East leaders. Cubs: RHP Cade Horton (7-3, 3.07 ERA) will start Game 1 on Monday. Tennis legend gets U.S. Open wildcard, will play for $1 million mixed doubles purse
Two-time U.S. Open singles champion Venus Williams earned a wildcard into the main draw, giving fans an opportunity to see the 45-year-old legend at least one more time on the biggest of stages. Williams will be the oldest singles entrant at the tournament since Renee Richards (47) in 1981, according to the International Tennis Federation. The seven-time Grand Slam singles champion last month become the oldest player to win a WTA singles match in more than two decades when she defeated former NCAA singles champ Peyton Stearns at the Mubadala Citi DC Open. Williams also competed this week in Cincinnati, losing to Jessica Bouzas Maneiro in straight sets. 'Coming off of this match, I feel amazing,' Venus said after the 6-4, 6-4 defeat last week. 'So that means in this next period, I won't have to fix injuries. I can work on power and speed instead of trying to make sure I'm not hurt going into the tournament. I'm very excited that I can have a different focus for the U.S. Open.' The singles draws run Aug. 24-Sept. 7 at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.
