Mark Wright bursts into tears over nephew's rare heart condition 'It just hurts'
EXCLUSIVE Former TOWIE star Mark Wright was left in tears as he spoke about his young nephew Presley's health battle, after the tot was diagnosed with a rare heart condition
Mark Wright was overcome with emotion as he opened up about his nephew Presley's health battle, breaking down in tears during a moving speech.
The former TOWIE star, 37, was speaking at a special event for The Brompton Fountain, a charity supporting children with serious heart and lung conditions, when he became tearful talking about his young nephew's journey.
Presley, the son of Mark's sister Jessica Wright and her husband William Lee-Kemp, was diagnosed with a rare heart condition that has deeply affected the entire family.
Jessica, best known for her appearances on The Only Way Is Essex, welcomed her first child with William in May 2022.
The couple described the birth of their son as their dreams coming true, with Jessica calling her newborn 'everything and more'.
However, their happiness was shattered when they discovered Presley was suffering from a Bicuspid Aortic Valve — a condition where the aortic valve has only two leaflets instead of the usual three.
Left untreated, it can lead to severe complications, including heart failure and infection.
Presley now has regular hospital check-ups every 12 weeks, where doctors monitor his heart with scans and ECGs to determine when he will need open-heart surgery.
At the charity event, an emotional Mark struggled to contain his feelings after watching a short film featuring Presley and the vital work The Brompton Fountain carries out.
'When it's that close to home, it just…sorry, it just hurts,' said Mark, his voice breaking as he addressed the crowd.
'Although I don't tell her often, my sister is an extraordinary woman. I am biased, of course, but I think we can all agree that her and her husband Will's strength, honesty and the love they show their son is nothing short of remarkable.
'And to my nephew, you're the bravest little boy I know,' he added, turning his back to the stage to compose himself as the room — including his supportive wife Michelle Keegan — erupted in applause.
The heartfelt moment showed just how much the family is pulling together for little Presley during this incredibly tough time.
In February, Jessica revealed how Presley was rushed to the hospital. She opened up Presley first displayed symptoms of a mystery illness a week prior to the hospital dash when he refused food and was vomiting throughout the night, leading him to sleep in Jess and her husband Edward's bed, something which she says is out of character for her son.
However, as his sickness developed into a "horrific cough and temperature", Jess made the decision to present Presley at their local accident and emergency department."

Shameless James Argent dances with pal Megan McKenna at her wedding after assault arrest
SHAMELESS James Argent danced with his pal Megan McKenna at her lavish wedding this weekend after his assault arrest. Towie alum James, 37, beamed from ear-to-ear and busted a move alongside his former co-star Megan, 32, following her nuptials with footballer Oliver Burke, 28. 7 7 Posting a video to Instagram from the festivities, he wrote in his caption: "Congratulations to the beautiful Bride, My dear friend @meganmckenna who got married to the lovely @oliverjburke yesterday. "I can't tell you how much it meant to me, That you wanted me there on your special Wedding day. "We danced together just like old times in Nu Bar Loughton when we were kids. "We always supported each other in those TOWIE days & remained friends ever since. "You've blossomed into an amazing woman. You're a fantastic mum & you're going to make a great wife! "And your a much better singer than me haha. Love ya." The post comes shortly after Nicoline, 32, released a bombshell statement revealing shocking details about James' attack on her. James turned on model Nicoline while they were at their home in Spain last month. He was arrested and spent several hours in police cells before admitting a charge of domestic violence in court. Nicoline later spoke out in a statement, confessing: 'My fractures on my body have finally healed but I'm wounded inside.' Recalling the traumatic experience, she said: 'I was brutally thrown out of our new home in the middle of the night wearing only my pyjamas. 'I opened the door to let him in and only minutes after I found myself laying down on the stairs outside our house. My clothes and belongings were being thrown out from the balcony down on me. I was injured.' Nicoline also placed the blame for Argent's violence with constant clashes over his ex-girlfriend Lydia Bright. Shortly before the attack, she posted a story questioning whether it was acceptable for someone to remain close to their ex while in a new relationship. And Nicoline claimed she and Argent often clashed over Lydia's involvement in their romance. She said: "I felt there were too many people in our relationship: me, my boyfriend and his ex. 'Three's a crowd', they say. "I asked so many times if we could be just the two of us, but the answer was a strong NO. "I experienced what I can only describe as targeted emotional distress which he allowed to continue.' Nicoline continued: "After being together for one year my boyfriend finally promised me that he would have boundaries. "He would put a stop to all that had been going on for months. "But he didn't. Instead he broke the promise and her controlling behaviour continued. The rest is history." Violence has no excuse - no matter how much love preceded it." Argent was handed a six month suspended sentence and a two-year restraining order banning him from contacting Nicoline. Love Island 2025: What time does ITV show start tonight and who won the 2024 series?
Love Island 2025: What time does ITV show start tonight and who won the 2024 series? Love Island 2025 is set to return this summer and will be the 12th series of the hit ITV2 dating show so here's everything you need to know about the upcoming season Summer has arrived heralding the start once more of the nation's intense fixation with Love Island. This year, 2025, commemorates a decade since ITV breathed new life into Love Island, following its initial celebrity-centred series in 2005 and 2006. Blossoming into an unforeseen global sensation, the show has been responsible for introducing a number of now-familiar faces to British households. Notable contestants like Molly-Mae Hague, Tommy Fury, Chris Hughes, Maura Higgins, Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu, and Curtis Pritchard have all found significant success post-villa. The premise remains as straightforward as ever: a collection of singles gather in a villa looking to pair up, fall in love, and potentially clinch the £50,000 cash prize, reports the Manchester Evening News. Maya Jama is returning to host the 12th series (Image: ITV ) Article continues below Former ITV Love Island winners have a hilarious way of dealing with split rumours READ MORE: Last series saw Mimii Ngulube and Josh Oyinsan crowned winners by public vote, though they split in October, much to the dismay of fans. "A lot of you have been wondering about Josh and I and why we haven't been making appearances. "I know it's a big disappointment for a lot of you as it is for me too. Your support for us hasn't gone unnoticed and I will forever be grateful for it," expressed Mimi at the time. The previous season wasn't without its drama – it saw the surprise arrival of The Only Way Is Essex star Joey Essex in the villa, leaving viewers and fellow islanders alike stunned. Mimii Ngulube and Josh Oyinsan won series 11 of Love Island last summer (Image: ITV/REX/Shutterstock ) The inclusion of a celebrity participant sparked debate over whether this gave him an unfair edge in the game, although he was sent packing just before the final showdown. In a double-dose of romantic escapades this year, Love Island returns for its second stint following the All Stars edition that graced our screens in January. After a whirlwind 36 days on the earlier show, former contestants Casey O'Gorman and Gabby Allen — who were familiar faces from series nine and three respectively — emerged as victors, though they have regrettably parted ways since their win. Maya Jama is at the helm yet again this season, having stepped into Laura Whitmore's shoes as the host in 2023, after Whitmore's three-year tenure fronting the popular series. This year commemorates a decade since ITV breathed new life into Love Island (Image: ITV ) In the run-up to the latest season's premiere, Kyle Ashman made headlines by bowing out of the villa for 'personal reasons', despite his earlier announcement as part of the cast. An ITV representative confirmed: "For personal reasons, Kyle will not be entering the 'Love Island' villa as planned." Article continues below Tune in for the next chapter of Love Island at 9pm on Monday, June 9 on ITV2 and ITVX and will air Sunday to Friday going forward.
