Former Arsenal footballer Thomas Partey to appear in court charged with rape
The 32-year-old is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Tuesday.
Partey's lawyer Jenny Wiltshire previously said he 'denies all the charges against him', adding he welcomed 'the opportunity to finally clear his name'.
The Ghanaian international was charged four days after leaving the North London club when his contract expired at the end of June.
Partey, of Hertfordshire, is accused of two counts of rape against one woman and three counts of rape against another.
The sexual assault allegation relates to a third woman, according to the CPS.
The Metropolitan Police said it first received reports of an allegation of rape in February 2022.
Partey joined Arsenal from Atletico Madrid in 2020 in a transfer worth around £45 million.
The defensive midfielder signed for the Spanish club in 2012 and made 188 appearances, as well as going out on loan to Mallorca and Leganes.
He played 35 games for the north London club in the Premier League last season, scoring four goals.
Partey has also made more than 50 appearances for Ghana – including at the World Cup and the Africa Cup of Nations.
An Arsenal spokesperson previously said: 'The player's contract ended on June 30. Due to ongoing legal proceedings the club is unable to comment on the case.'

Ter Stegen, 33, recently had surgery on a reoccurring back problem, having missed the majority of last season with a serious knee injury. Amid their financial troubles and difficulties registering summer additions such as Marcus Rashford, Barca had intended to register new goalkeeper Joan Garcia as a short-term replacement for Ter Stegen under La Liga's injury exception rule. It allows clubs to use 80 per cent of the injured player's wages to register a new signing. But the rule only applies to players who'll be out for at least four months. Rather matter-of-factly, Ter Stegen stated following his operation that he'd be out for 'three months', also quashing talk of a move away during the summer transfer window. That caused a stir at Barcelona, reportedly prompting some board members to call for the German to be stripped of the armband. Barca released their own statement regarding Ter Stegen's surgery and didn't mention a timeframe for his recovery. In a fresh twist to what's becoming a bitter saga, the goalkeeper is said to have refused to sign a consent form which would've allowed Barcelona to send his injury details to the La Liga Medical Committee. That's prompted the Spanish champions to turn the matter over to their legal department. According to Mundo Deportivo, Barca have opened disciplinary proceedings against Ter Stegen, as they believe that his non-compliance is detrimental to Hansi Flick's team. The 33-year-old could therefore face internal sanctions if the club's lawyers confirm that action can be taken. Ter Stegen is, however, within his rights to withhold sharing his personal medical information with third parties, including governing bodies. Barcelona argue that the Germany international's stance is in conflict with his contractual obligations. It's added in the report that when club chiefs attempted to arrange a face-to-face meeting to discuss the situation, Ter Stegen refused. Barca were presented with a similar opportunity last season, as they were able to register Dani Olmo following a long-term injury to Andreas Christensen, who signed the consent form. What's more is that multiple Barcelona players have voiced their support for Ter Stegen, insisting that he should remain as captain after winning a dressing-room vote last season. When asked if his team-mate should keep the armband, vice-captain Raphinha replied: "In my opinion, yes. "But in the end, it's not something that's up to us. Since I arrived, he's always helped me. I remember clearly, he was already one of the captains, and in football there are hierarchies that must be respected. "But ultimately, it's not our decision. We just have to listen to what we're told. Even if he's no longer the captain, he'll still be one to us - and a very special person." Speaking to RAC1 during Barca's pre-season tour of Asia, Gavi insisted: "Marc is a club legend and must be respected for the way he is. When he comes back from injury, we'll see and the coach will decide. What is clear is that he is a club legend and he must be respected." Pau Cabarsi also told Cadena SER: "Ter Stegen is our captain and we're happy with him. He's always helped me when I started with the first team. We're happy he's with us. "We've encouraged him, and he's encouraged us as a group this preseason. He's the captain, we respect him, and we're very happy with him. For now, Ter Stegen is our captain, and we see him as the captain he is. "He's been here for many years and knows this subject a lot, so he can help us a lot in every aspect because he's also been around a little longer than us. Sky Sports launch new Premier League show with I'm A Celeb star signed up as presenter
One Show presenter Roman Kemp has been signed up by Sky Sports to present a new Premier League preview show on Friday evenings this season. SunSport has learned that Kemp will front a new show, Premier League Friday, to be broadcast on 5pm on Sky Sports News. 2 The first programme will air next Friday before the opening Premier League game of the season, Liverpool 's visit to Bournemouth, which will be broadcast live on Sky Sports. Kemp is a big Arsenal fan and has played in the celebrity charity match Soccer Aid, but has not worked in football broadcasting before. The former Capital One DJ, son of Spandau Ballet's Martin Kemp, will be joined on the Sky Sports News show by rotating panel of pundits and reporters to discuss the top talking points in football and preview the weekend's games. Sky's move to hire Kemp is their latest attempt to attract younger viewers to their programmes. The broadcaster have had a turbulent summer, with seven senior staff made redundant in June including presenters Melissa Reddy and Rob Wotton. Wotton said a tearful goodbye after 30 years at the end of May as he was applauded by the studio team. And Reddy blasted the abuse she had received on social media during her five years in the job. The other presenters to be let go were Teddy Draper and Jasper Taylor, along with senior reporters Jeremy Langdon and Melissa Reddy and Fadumo Olow. Sky Sports News are also launching a new weekday magazine programme next week, The Premier League Show, which will air on Monday to Thursday from 5pm to 7pm. Presenting duties will be shared and rotated between Julian Warren and Emma Paton, with each episode also featuring a reporter and pundit to discuss the day's biggest Premier League stories. Emma Paton is Sky Sports' leading darts presenter while also regularly hosting Sky Sports News. Julian Warren, meanwhile took charge of hosting Soccer Saturday last week. But he was left less than impressed when the vidiprinter made three errors in one match.

CHARLIE PATINO has advised Arsenal Boy Wonder Max Dowman to stay grounded and humble ahead of a potential Premier League debut.
