Montreal police (SPVM) received a 911 call at 3:40 a.m. from a passerby who noticed bullet holes in a building on Jarry Street near Pascal-Gagnon Street. 'When police officers arrived on site, they located those impacts, and there were some gun shells that were found on the floor,' said Jean-Pierre Brabant, a spokesperson with Montreal police. There were no reported injuries, and there have been no arrests. Brabant notes officers remain on site to look for witnesses and examine security footage in the area.

Swimmer in Sudbury, Ont., says she doesn't feel safe in local lake after fatal incident
Jodie McConnell says she no longer feels safe swimming far from the shoreline of Lake Nepahwin in Sudbury because of the growing number of motorized boats on the small lake. On Friday, Aug.1 a boat hit a swimmer in the lake. She later died of her injuries.
