Global Youth at Nasser Fellowship Voice Support for Palestinian Statehood

Pasant Elzaitony
As part of the Fifth Edition of the Gamal Abdel Nasser Fellowship for International Leadership, under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and within the framework of the Egypt International Forum, the Ministry of Youth and Sports organized a seminar titled "The Palestinian Cause: Vision and Analysis."
The event was moderated by Sherif Gad, Director of Cultural Activities at the Russian Cultural Center, and featured key speakers including Dr. Saeed Abu Ali, former Palestinian Minister of Interior and Assistant Secretary-General of the Arab League and Head of the Palestine and Occupied Arab Territories Sector; Dr. Yasmine Moussa, Legal Affairs Advisor at Egypt's Ministry of Foreign Affairs; and Ms. Sahar Al-Jubouri, Head of UNRWA's Representative Office in Cairo.
The seminar was attended by 150 young men and women from 80 countries.
In his opening remarks, Sherif Gad expressed optimism for the eventual triumph of the Palestinian cause, despite the difficult current conditions.
He emphasized that the continuation of Palestinian resistance and the solidarity shown by youth from 80 different nations reaffirm that the Palestinian cause is far from forgotten.
'The Palestinian people will never disappear like the Native Americans,' he stated passionately.

Dr. Saeed Abu Ali stressed the importance of a comprehensive resolution to the conflict, criticizing both the Arab and international response to the crisis.
He condemned the delayed international efforts to halt the ongoing atrocities, pointing out that over 137 countries now recognize the State of Palestine.
Dr. Yasmine Moussa affirmed Egypt's historical and emotional connection to the Palestinian cause, stating that it has shaped the political awareness of Egyptian youth.
She presented a detailed overview of recent developments in the conflict, highlighting numerous humanitarian violations, and emphasized the significance of international law and judicial organizations in addressing these issues.
Ms. Sahar Al-Jubouri elaborated on UNRWA's mission, the challenges it faces, and the daily struggles endured by the Palestinian people from the perspective of the agency.
She underlined UNRWA's vital role in supporting every Palestinian refugee and pointed to the absence of a unified international definition of terrorism. This ambiguity, she argued, often casts Palestinian resistance in the role of the perpetrator rather than the victim.
In conclusion, Sherif Gad extended his gratitude to the Minister of Youth and Sports for organizing the Nasser Fellowship Forum, and to Dr. Hassan El-Ghazaly, Director of the Nasser International Leadership Fellowship, for the outstanding execution and coordination of the event.
