Ever since the first movie was released in 1997, fans have been convinced that Jennifer and her co-star Sarah Michelle Gellar, 48, DO NOT get on.
At the time the two women were Hollywood's most sought after leading ladies.
Since then, there have been various rumblings of "shade" from both sides.
As the rebooted film hits theatres, with both women reprising their roles in the movie, Party of Five star Jen has opened about Sarah, admitting she hasn't talked to her in 28 years.
In a recent interview with Vulture, the actress said: "I honestly don't even know what that was or how that all came to be.
"I just think people don't want the narrative to be easy.
"Why do we always have to be against each other and out for each other?"
Revealing that she hadn't spoken to Sarah in nearly three decades, Jennifer said: "I haven't seen Sarah.
"Literally, we've not talked since I saw her at 18 years old when the first movie came out.
"That's why it's so funny to me.'
Sarah Michelle Gellar fuels secret feud rumors with popular '90s co-star as 'frosty' comment leaves fans shocked
The star said people in her circle had encouraged her to reach out, to which she said: "I'm like, 'What am I going to say? I've not seen her.'"
This isn't the first time Jennifer has addressed "the feud".
Responding to the alleged rumors of a feud between the pair and whether or not she demanded Sarah's character Helen Shivers be killed off in the original movie, Jennifer lifted the lid.
Speaking on the I've Never Said This Before podcast in December 2024, she said: "I was 18. They were not taking script notes from me.
I Know What You Did Last Summer Cast
The popular film saw many famous actors get their big break.
The cast included: Jennifer Love Hewitt as Julie James
Sarah Michelle Gellar as Helen Shivers
Ryan Phillippe as Barry Cox
Freddie Prinze Jr. as Ray Bronson
Johnny Galecki as Max Neurick
Bridgette Wilson as Elsa Shivers
Anne Heche as Melissa "Missy" Egan
Muse Watson as Ben Willis / The Fisherman
"All of us were in that experience together, you know, figuring it all out and everything.
"And I root for her and Freddie," she added.
SARAH'S 'SHADE'
Sarah recently appeared to throw "shade" on Jennifer with an Instagram post.
It came after she shared a trailer for the I Know What You Did Last Summer movie reboot.
Sarah tagged several cast mates including Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, Sam Lansky, Madelyn Cline, Gabbriette, Sarah Pidgeon, Chase Sui Wonders, and her husband Freddie Prinze Jr.
Despite Jennifer appearing in the new movie, Sarah did not tag her.
Taking to Reddit, one eagle-eyed fan noticed how Sarah shared a post and did not include Jennifer.
"This one takes us back the glory days of the late 90's," the post began.
"Apparently, Sarah Michelle Gellar uploaded the attached pic to her stories, and tagged everyone except for Jennifer Love Hewitt."
They went on: "Allegedly, there was a lowkey beef with these two back in the day.
"You don't say? I honestly wasn't aware," the Redditor said.

Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) TYSON FURY posted an incredible throwback from 2013 - when he had ripped abs and a buzz cut hairdo. The Gypsy King, 25 at the time, was a heavyweight contender on the rise only two years away from his famous victory over Wladimir Klitschko. He posted: "Throw back 2013. Timegoes so fast, live life and enjoy the now as we spend all our lives looking to the future & forgetting to live in the current time zone. "Life is short enjoy the 1s who count and dont let anything hold you back! be the best version of yourself on the daily, All praise to god in jesus name." Fury dethroned Klitschko of the WBA, IBF and WBO world titles in an iconic 2015 upset in Germany. But he dropped all the belts just two years later amid a battle with depression and substance abuse that saw him balloon to 30 STONE. Fury returned in 2018 and drew with Deontay Wilder for the WBC title - before winning the belt in their 2020 rematch. He lost the gold in May to Oleksandr Usyk - who became the first four-belt undisputed heavyweight champ. And after losing the December rematch, Fury, 36, retired a month later.
