Wildlife lovers can feed and swim with green sea turtles at the Cayman Turtle Centre, marvel at endangered blue iguanas at the Queen Elizabeth II Botanic Park or search for sea stars at Starfish Point. Families will love the sandbar at Stingray City — widely considered one of the top tourist attractions on the island — where you can wade into waist-deep aquamarine water as wild stingrays circle below and feed from your hand.

There are other aquatic exploits too, from a nocturnal bioluminescent tour to paddleboarding, kayaking, windsurfing and sailing around the island. And with daytime temperatures hovering around 25 C in winter and 30 C in summer, a refreshing dip in the Caribbean is always a welcome treat.

Stretching only 35 km long and roughly 13 km wide, the island is easy to explore, allowing you to fit several excursions in one day. The roads appear straightforward, but we chose to use the transportation service Majestic Tours to avoid the confusion of driving on the opposite side of the road.

The white sand beach at Rum Point, which got its name from the barrels of rum that would wash ashore from shipwrecks, was another highlight of our trip. While there are plenty of water sports and activities to enjoy (personal watercraft rentals, beach volleyball and scuba diving), a laid-back, slower pace of island life prevails here.

After finding our own little area underneath some palm trees on the water's edge, we went for a dip in the warm Caribbean Sea. As I looked out over the calm, turquoise water, with a refreshing Mudslide in hand (the beach club's restaurant is known for them), I understood why so many locals had recommended it to us.

The New York Mets have a new home run king. Pete Alonso hit a two-run blast off of Atlanta Braves starter Spencer Strider on Tuesday to extend New York's lead to 5-1 in the bottom of the third inning. The home run was the 253rd of his career, moving him past a tie with franchise great Darryl Strawberry for the most in Mets history. Strawberry went on to tally 335 home runs in a career that also spanned stints with the Dodgers, Giants and Yankees. But his 252 with the Mets previously stood as the franchise record. Alonso, 30, re-signed with the Mets on a two-year, $54 million contract in the offseason and will presumably have plenty of opportunities to add to his now franchise-record home run tally.

"You're A Loser": Yet Another Republican Was Booed By A Crowd At Their Town Hall After Following Trump's Agenda
Another Republican lawmaker has faced a cacophony of boos and jeers when coming face-to-face with the general public to defend President Donald Trump's legislative agenda. Rep. Doug LaMalfa (R-Calif.) felt the wrath of constituents over the huge tax and spending bill, the trade war, and the crackdown on immigration when speaking during a town hall in Chico, California, on Monday. Related: Tensions ran so high that LaMalfa, who was reportedly holding his first in-person forum in close to eight years, was repeatedly called a 'liar' when doing his utmost to justify the president's policies. LaMalfa joins a growing cast of GOP politicians who have been given a raucous reception when meeting voters. Earlier this month, Rep. Mike Flood (R-Neb.) was heckled relentlessly when confronted over Medicaid cuts, the Jeffrey Epstein scandal, and ICE detentions. LaMalfa, who represents a large rural area of Northern California, held the town hall despite GOP top brass ordering an end to in-person events because of the rise of so-called 'professional protesters.'
