'Uncontrollable' Jet2 passengers drunk on vodka dragged from plane by police
A waiting flight descended into chaos when two allegedly 'uncontrollable' and "drunk" passengers had to be removed.
On July 24, the commotion occurred onboard a Jet2 flight from Leeds Bradford Airport to Chania International Airport in Greece.
After the flight was delayed, passenger Ian Boyle said two friends became unruly after they began drinking a duty-free bottle of vodka during the wait, reports the Mirror.
Video footage shows police boarding the aircraft and escorting the two disruptive passengers off the plane. It comes after a pilot's wife says there's one thing tourists wear that airport security absolutely hates.
'The airline staff were doing their best but the drunk guy just overwhelmed them,' Ian said. "The police had to intervene because the man was so drunk he was uncontrollable.'
The men were later seen being led off the tarmac, each accompanied by several officers.
Ian continued: "Apparently, the two friends brought a duty-free bottle of vodka on board and thought it was okay to drink it while we were delayed.'
He added: "It was quite a serious altercation. There were kids on board who may never want to fly again."
The alleged incident was referred to by West Yorkshire Police. In a statement, police said: "On 24 July, police received a request for assistance following a report of a disturbance at Leeds Bradford Airport.
Officers attended and arrested two males on suspicion of affray. "Both were later bailed pending further enquiries."
A Jet2 spokesperson said: "We can confirm that two disruptive passengers have been banned from flying with us, following their appalling behaviour which led to police having to offload them.
"As a family friendly airline, we take a zero-tolerance approach to disruptive passenger behaviour.'
On Monday we previously reported, in a separate incident, that a had appeared in court after an incident where a man allegedly "shouted about a bomb" on a flight bound for Glasgow.
Abhay Devdas Nayak, 41, appeared at Paisley Sheriff Court on Monday July 28.
He was charged with assault and also with a charge under The Air Navigation Order 2016 article 240 which makes it an offence to recklessly or negligently act in a manner likely to endanger an aircraft or anyone within it.
Nayak, of Luton, made no plea and was remanded in custody while the case was committed for further examination.
He is expected to reappear in the dock within the eight days after.
Easyjet passengers were forced to tackle a man on board the EZY609 flight from London Luton on the morning of Sunday, July 27.
Footage shared on social media showed a male appearing to say on the journey that he wanted to "send a message to Donald Trump".
In the video, a passenger appeared to be saying: "I'm going to bomb the plane. Death to America. Death to Trump."
Shocked passengers were seen watching on as a man continued to scream at the top of his voice at the back of the aircraft.
One man then got out of his seat and tackled a male passenger to the ground before another pinned him to the ground and said "don't move".
It's understood some passengers were left in tears as a man was handcuffed and removed from the plane by police.

Moment drunken yobs spark emergency at 30,000 feet by refusing to stop vaping - forcing plane to turn back an hour into flight
Two drunken yobs caused a plane to return to the UK an hour into their flight as they refused to stop vaping in their seats. Police were called to Stansted Airport, where they waited for a Jet2 flight bound for Heraklion in Crete to return to London. Families were left extremely frustrated that the two men who were 'drunk as skunks' were allowed on board before take-off. Passengers said the pair started drinking alcohol after the scheduled 5.55am departure on Tuesday was delayed. Once the flight took off, pilots were forced to declare an emergency an hour into the flight and turn back to Stansted Airport. Footage shows the moment officers rushed onto the twin-jet Airbus A321 at 9.36am to cheers from passengers on he plane to detain the duo. One of the men was arrested after he was allegedly carrying cocaine and MDMA. Angry passengers let out their frustrations as one woman tells the men to 'get off!' while another shouts 'loser! before describing the pair as 'f****** b***ends!'. 'Do not get on a flight if you cannot control your drink!', another says before adding 'we love you police - thank you!'. However, one passenger was able to crack a joke as she quipped, 'nothing beats a Jet2 holiday' following the viral ad campaign starring pop star Jess Glynne. The duo, one of whom was wearing a back-to-front black baseball cap, ignored a cockpit announcement that warned that if they didn't stop vaping, the flight would have to return to the UK, one passenger revealed. The passenger said: 'On the flight the duo were so obnoxious. They began vaping, then kicked off when told to stop smoking. 'They couldn't understand or care just how dangerous it was for everyone on the plane. A source told The Sun: 'Passengers were livid. Everyone was looking forward to the start of the holiday.' They added: 'There were lots of kids on the plane and the airline should not allow these lunatics to spoil hard earned holidays.' The holidaymakers on the plane had to wait at Stansted Airport throughout the day for a service that evening that could take them on the four-hour journey to Greece. It is understood that Jet2 gave passengers a £10 voucher to be redeemed in WHSmith at Stansted. The airline has confirmed that a passenger has been handed a life ban as they described the behaviour as 'disgraceful' and 'aggressive'. A Jet2 spokesperson said: 'We can confirm that a customer has been issued with a lifetime ban following a catalogue of disgraceful and aggressive behaviour, which led to flight LS1577 from London Stansted to Crete Heraklion having to return to Stansted so that police could offload them. 'We would like to thank the police and our crew for their handling of this difficult situation. 'As a family friendly airline, we take a zero-tolerance approach to disruptive passenger behaviour and we will fully support the authorities with any subsequent investigation, including prosecutions and pursuing civil proceedings if necessary.' An Essex Police spokesman said: 'We were called at around 8.40am on Tuesday 5 August to reports of a disruptive passenger on board a flight bound for Greece. 'Officers were alerted to the flight's imminent return to Stansted Airport and detained two passengers for searches. 'A man, aged in his 20s, from High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, was taken into custody after a quantity of suspected Class A drugs was found. 'He has since been released under investigation.' The second passenger was detained by officers for a stop and search but was not arrested.

Referee knocked over following MASS BRAWL in FA Cup qualifier after floodlights cut out for bizarre reason
A referee was knocked over following a mass brawl in an FA Cup qualifier on Wednesday night. The incident occurred during a match between Ashford Town Middlesex and Eastbourne as the home side advanced to the next round courtesy of a 3-2 win after extra-time. But the encounter was plunged into darkness just after 10:30pm, when the floodlights at Ashford's Robert Parker Stadium switched off. That was due to them not being allowed to run any later because of restrictions imposed by Heathrow Airport - which is just under a mile away. While no light could be seen on the pitch, red mist descended among the players as a full-scale brawl ensued between them which resulted in the referee being felled. Fans could then be heard shouting as they attempted to identify who was responsible for harming the match official. Speaking to talkSPORT on Wednesday morning, broadcaster Ian Abrahams, who attended the match, said: 'It was one of the most bizarre games we've been at. 'The reason why the lights went out is quite a bizarre story. 'These are brand new lights that have been put up at Ashford Town – a club right next to Heathrow Airport. There are three or four clubs in and around the perimeter fence of Heathrow Airport, and Ashford Town is one of them. 'So you're right by the runway and all night planes are literally taking off 30 seconds apart. 'These brand new lights have gone up, but because it's a residential area and it's near the airport, they have to agree that the lights won't be on after 10:30 at night.' He then proceeded to explain how the fight came about, which the referee became inadvertently involved in. Abrahams added: 'The minute the lights went off, there was a free for all in terms of a brawl amongst the players and what seemed like the staff. 'And the referee – I don't know what he was doing – but he was walking right by the players. 'And as some of the Eastbourne Town players moved away to try and sort of avoid being involved in the brawl, they knocked the referee over. 'But he goes down in his stormers and then seems to grab his ankle like he's been tackled – it was just hilarious!'

Jet2 plane forced to turn back to UK as 'two men spark emergency at 30,000ft'
Our community members are treated to special offers, promotions and adverts from us and our partners. You can check out at any time. More info Intoxicated Jet2 passengers were removed from a flight for vaping, causing the plane to return to the UK just one hour into its journey. The passengers, who departed from London Stansted with Jet2, argued with the cabin crew and disregarded instructions from the cockpit to cease smoking. The two troublemakers caused an emergency at 30,000ft by vaping in their seats. One of the passengers was later allegedly found in possession of cocaine and MDMA. The pair consumed alcohol after the scheduled 5.55am departure was delayed, leading to an emergency being declared one hour into Jet2's Flight 1577 to Heraklion in Crete on Tuesday morning. A source informed The Sun: "Passengers were livid. Everyone was looking forward to the start of the holiday. The worst scenario is having to turn around and return to the UK after an hour into the flight. "But there was also anger that the two men were allowed on board, clearly drunk. It's ridiculous that they could be so boozed-up so early. The flight was meant to go before 6am but was delayed for over an hour," reports Birmingham Live. "That clearly gave these thugs more time to knock back the hard stuff. There were lots of kids on the plane and the airline should not allow these lunatics to spoil hard earned holidays." A passenger added: "On the flight the duo were so obnoxious. They began vaping, then kicked off when told to stop smoking. They couldn't understand or care just how dangerous it was for everyone on the plane. "The pilots were told what was going on and a cockpit announcement warned that if the pair didn't stop vaping the flight would have to return to the UK. The drunk pair ignored the threat and continued being rude to the crew, so we had to return to Stansted. Everyone was distraught and families were a little frightened. It is very unnerving. "When the police boarded the plane on landing there were cheers for the officers, and abuse for the yobs. I hope they get the book thrown at them. They should be locked up and banned from flying in future." One passenger fumed: "The guys were so obviously drunk before boarding. They should not have been on the plane. The whole thing could have been avoided if Jet2 had done their job. "Everyone was furious. Some passengers were only going to Crete for a few days and it took a big chunk out of their holiday. It was such a frustrating experience." Jet2 stated: "We can confirm that a customer has been issued with a lifetime ban following a catalogue of disgraceful and aggressive behaviour, which led to flight LS1577 from London Stansted to Crete Heraklion having to return to Stansted so that police could offload them. "We would like to thank the police and our crew for their handling of this difficult situation. "As a family friendly airline, we take a zero-tolerance approach to disruptive passenger behaviour and we will fully support the authorities with any subsequent investigation, including prosecutions and pursuing civil proceedings if necessary."
