ShowTech fair to spotlight fruits of Mardi's research
Mardi director-general Datuk Dr Mohamad Zabawi Abdul Ghani described the exhibition as the best platform for the public and industry players to witness the results of Mardi's research over the past five decades.
'We will display 188 technologies across eight clusters.
'We will also bring together 148 entrepreneurs to sell their products,' he said at a media briefing for the event yesterday, reported Bernama.
He added that this year's main highlight is the expansion of the exhibition area, which will include more interactive activities for visitors such as engaging in vegetable harvesting.
'Mardi is targeting an attendance of 500,000 visitors, including farmers, breeders, entrepreneurs, students and members of the public,' he said.
He described ShowTech 2025 as a key platform for Mardi to introduce research findings that may not have been widely known.
'For example, Mardi has developed 58 padi varieties that are planted by over 95% of farmers in Malaysia, yet Mardi's name is not displayed.
'With ShowTech, we can inform the public about Mardi's contributions,' he said.
