Bassiouny resigns as Talae El-Geish coach after two-and-a-half seasons - Egyptian Football
Abdel Hamid Bassiouny has resigned as head coach of Talae El-Geish after two-and-a-half seasons at the helm, he announced Wednesday.
The 53-year-old confirmed his departure via Facebook, thanking the club's board for accepting his resignation and expressing gratitude to the technical staff and players.
"All thanks, appreciation, and respect to the Tala'ea El Gaish board for accepting my resignation after a two-and-a-half-season spell. I wish the club continued success and progress," Bassiouny wrote.
His decision follows a 2–1 loss to Ittihad of Alexandria in the Egyptian Premier League relegation group.
Bassiouny took charge in May 2023, managing 68 matches across all competitions, with a record of 24 wins, 20 draws, and 24 defeats.
Under his leadership, the team reached the Egypt Cup final, narrowly losing to Ahly, before famously defeating them in a subsequent Cup rematch to claim a historic title.
Talae El-Geish currently sit fourth in the Relegation Round with 21 points.

Ahly announced on Monday signing Arab Contractors goalkeeper Mohamed Seha on a five-year contract starting from next season. The 24-year-old Seha would be a replacement for Ahly's goalkeeper Hamza Alaa after departing the club this summer. Desire Doue scored twice to lead PSG to their first European Cup triumph with a crushing 5-0 victory over Inter Milan on Saturday. Enrique, visibly emotional after the final whistle and wearing a T-shirt with a tribute to Xana who died of cancer aged nine in 2019, thanked the supporters who unveiled huge banners featuring images of his daughter. When the match finished he went to the stands to change into a T-shirt that showcased an illustration of Xana planting a PSG flag into the ground. "I'm very happy," Enrique said. "It was very emotional at the end with the banner from the fans for my family. But I always think about my daughter." The French side completely overwhelmed Inter from the opening whistle, drawing praise from Enrique for playing with high intensity, and he singled out Ousmane Dembele for putting in a tireless performance. Zamalek conclude league campaign with 2-0 win over Pharco - Egyptian Football
Third-placed Zamalek ended their disappointing Egyptian League season with a 2-0 victory over Pharco FC in the final matchday of the playoff stage at Cairo International Stadium on Saturday. Midfielders Mohamed Shehata and youngster Mohamed El-Sayed scored for Zamalek in each half, securing a morale-boosting result for the White Knights ahead of their Cup final on 5 June against Pyramids. Despite dominating possession in the first half, Zamalek struggled to create clear scoring opportunities.
