
Yogandhra festival Held in Vijayawada with farmers participate in it
A month-long festival, Yogandhra, is being celebrated across the state, with a special event organised today (Saturday) under the auspices of Collector Lakshmisha on BRTS Road in the city. The programme saw participation from Agriculture Department Director Delhi Rao, Collector Lakshmisha, and Municipal Commissioner Dhyan Chand, who joined local farmers in performing yoga asanas.
Farmers from various parts of NTR district took part in the event, benefitting from the experience of practising yoga alongside local officials. During the gathering, Delhi Rao expressed his delight at participating with the farmers, emphasising the transformative power of yoga asanas. He noted that incorporating simple yoga techniques into daily life can lead to improved health, helping to prevent common ailments.
Rao highlighted that many today grapple with significant stress in their busy lives, leading to an increase in conditions such as hypertension and diabetes. He recommended the practice of yoga asanas, pranayama, and meditation as effective ways to combat such pressures, stating that these practices can help promote relaxation and mental clarity.
He also pointed out the significance of World Yoga Day, declared by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2015, and expressed his excitement about the participation of Modi and Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu in the upcoming International Yoga Day event scheduled for June 21 in Visakhapatnam. Rao termed the transformation of BRTS Road into a dedicated yoga road as a positive development.
Collector Lakshmisha further reiterated the goals of the Yogandhra festival, stating that the aim is for ten lakh people in NTR district and two crore individuals across the state to engage in yoga. He affirmed that yoga can strengthen both the mind and body, announcing that BRTS Road will now serve as a 'Nitya Yoga Road' where residents of Vijayawada can practise yoga daily.
Lakshmisha encouraged people to commit to 45 minutes of yoga each day, asserting that this practice will lead to enhanced health and happiness for all.

1 2 Varanasi: The city has started preparations for the International Yoga Day to be held on June 21. While several events including yoga sessions will be held across the district on the occasion, the main event be organised at the Kashi Vishwanath Dham. The series of events to mark the Yoga Week ahead of the International Yoga Day will commence on June 15. While reviewing the preparation for International Yoga Day on Saturday evening, district magistrate Satyendra Kumar sought all details of the events proposed to be organised during the Yoga Week. The Yoga Week will commence on June 15 and will conclude with the celebration of International Yoga Day on June 21. After collecting details from the officials, including regional ayurvedic officer Dr Saroj Shankar Ram, the DM instructed the concerned officials for the completion of all the necessary preparations for the grand opening of Yoga Week at Namo Ghat on June 15. Yoga sessions will also be conducted at all ghats. The main event on June 21 will be held at Kashi Vishwanath Dham, he added. During Yoga Week, he said, yoga camps will be organised in all village panchayats and urban areas. Additionally, the district basic education officer and district inspector of schools were directed to conduct yoga sessions in schools daily. The chief medical officer was instructed to organise yoga at their health and wellness centres. The youth welfare officer was asked to coordinate with the Yuvak Mangal Dal members to train them in the yoga protocol for conducting yoga in each village. Important among others, CDO Himanshu Nagpal, CMO, BSA, DIOS, BDO, and representatives from NGOs and yoga organisations were present at the meeting.

Yoga sessions, seminars, workshops in lineup of IYD event across Uttar Pradesh
Lucknow: In line with its commitment to promoting healthy lifestyle through yoga, Yogi Adityanath-led UP govt will organise large-scale yoga practice sessions at more than 4,000 locations across the state on International Yoga Day , Jun 21. Yoga Week will be observed from Jun 15 to 21, during which various programmes will be held at district, tehsil, block and village panchayat levels. These include mass yoga sessions, seminars, workshops, symposiums, speech competitions, rangoli contests, essay writing and slogan competitions to raise awareness and encourage public participation. As part of the nationwide celebration, mass yoga demonstrations will take place at 100,000 locations across the country, with 4,075 in Uttar Pradesh following the Common Yoga Protocol on Jun 21. Principal secretary AYUSH, Ranjan Kumar, said that under the direction of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath , 5,000 trained yoga instructors were prepared to promote yoga across the state who will lead yoga sessions across UP. Principals and managers of AYUSH colleges have formed various committees to ensure success of Yoga Week with yoga-related programmes in medical, vocational and other educational institutions. Yoga gaining popularity in rural, tribal areas: Parvathipuram MLA
Parvathipuram MLA Bonela Vijayachandra said on Sunday that the practice of yoga is gaining popularity in rural and tribal areas with the Yogandhra-2025 initiative of the Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu-led government, adding that simple asanas can improve health and fitness for people of all ages. He visited the yoga camps organised by the Indian Medical Association, Lions Club and other organisations in association with Parvathipuram-Manyam district administration. During his visit he told officials to conduct more yoga camps across all mandals of Parvathipuram. He said that yoga is beneficial to all age groups, including the youth who face health issues due to changing lifestyles. District Medical and Health Officer S. Bhaskara Rao, IMA President Yalla Vivek, Lions Club President B. Nagabhusanam, along with others, were present for the event. Meanwhile, Collector A. Shyam Prasad has directed officials to encourage people to enrol in the Yogandhra portal, as the programme will continue for a few more weeks. He said, 'Meritorious practitioners will be given certificates and awards on the International Yoga Day, which is on June 21.'
