Ben Stiller's actress daughter says they have discussed writing a play together

Leader Live07-07-2025
Ella, 23, who plays the lead in a new off-Broadway play called Dilaria, said that while she would like to work alongside her father, she is also wanting to 'pave my own way and have my own voice be put out there.'
She told US publication Teen Vogue: 'My dad and I talk a lot about writing together, and I think we eventually want to write a play together for the two of us, hopefully.
'I would love, love, love to work with everyone in my family, just because… growing up, that's what my dad always said — when you watch his movies, so many of the little random parts in it are family members or a family friend or something.
'And it's almost just a hidden gem Easter egg thing… you can put little parts of your own self and life into it.'
Her father has led comedy films including Zoolander, Meet The Parents and The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty.
Ella said: 'I think my dad and I are very similar in the way our brains work and the way we view art and writing and creativity.
'I feel he and I are very much cut from the same cloth.
'I feel I get a lot of my everyday stuff or mannerisms from my mom. We all, collectively, get our sense of humour from each other.
'We have a very specific way of joking in my family, which I love so much… I am surrounded by a lot of really smart people who make really smart jokes without ego.'
She added: 'I grew up with access to people. My parents, my grandparents were amazing actors and writers and that's incredible and that's an amazing privilege, but I wanted to also have my own people and pave my own way and have my own voice be put out there.
'I always want to make sure the people that I work with and who I surround myself with are people who really see me as my own person and my own artist.'
Emmy-award winning actor Ben also shares a son called Quinlin with his wife, actress Christine Taylor.

Jennifer Lopez's skirt DROPS to the floor in shock wardrobe malfunction on stage: 'I'm glad I had underwear on'

Jennifer Lopez didn't let anything like a little wardrobe malfunction upset her performance in Warsaw on Friday. The artist, 56, who has split from her record label, was in the middle of a wardrobe change when she was called back out on the stage so the crowd could sing Happy Birthday to her. The singer, who is traveling on her Up All Night: Live in 2025 tour, was wearing a gold sequined triangle bikini top and fiddling with her gold fringe skirt when she came out on stage. A backup dancer got behind her to attach it, and it seemed to work, for a couple of seconds at least. As she walked across the stage saying 'Thank you Warsaw,' the flimsy garment dropped to the floor. Lopez looked shocked for a second, but quickly recovered and took a sort of victory lap around the stage in her high waist gold lamé bottom and sparkling boots. She tried to attach it again, with the help of the dancer, as her crew broke out into the Stevie Wonder hit Happy Birthday. Wonder originally wrote the song to advocate for the establishment of a holiday honoring the late civil rights legend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The Jenny on the Block singer doubled over laughing as her helper struggled, again, to attach the hooks on the skirt. As the song concluded she grabbed the offending piece of clothing and threw it into the crowd. 'I'm glad that they reinforced that costume,' the MTV Video Music Award winner said. 'I'm glad I had underwear on,' she admitted, adding, 'I don't usually wear underwear.' She also told the person who caught the skirt, 'you can keep it. I don't want it back.' Fans who saw the video on YouTube were eager to share their good wishes and admiration for the Billboard Icon Award winner. 'Unstoppable Force ! Happy Birthday Icon, wrote one admirer, and then using some of JLo's own words to describe the situation. 'One of my favourite quote of JLo is failure isn't falling down flat on your face failure is stopping !!!' 'Fantastic, thank you for the surprise,' wrote another. JLo was set to perform in Bucharest on Sunday night and then take off for Abu Dhabi. The tour was scheduled to conclude in Almaty in Kazakhstan on August 10.

Drake leaves fans fuming as he reschedules Manchester gig at last minute

Canadian music sensation Drake is in the midst of a European tour with fellow singer PartyNextDoor - but he has angered some fans by suddenly changing concert dates Music fans have been left in despair as Drake has announced his hotly anticipated concert in Manchester this coming week has been cancelled. The 38-year-old Canadian rap star had been due to thrill fans at the Co-Op Arena on Monday night. ‌ But on Sunday, news emerged that the concert had to be abruptly cancelled - due to travel disruption. There was good news, however, as fans of Drake were told the gigs would be rescheduled. ‌ The concerts, produced by LiveNation and with Ticketmaster handling ticket sales, would be pushed back to early August, meaning fans had less than a week to change plans to see the star at the recently build music and events venue. However, some fans were still let out as they could not change plans to see the musician on his rescheduled dates. ‌ Drake is on the road with fellow Canadian singer PartyNextDoor - the stage name of Jahron Brathwaite, 32. The boys have been entertaining their fans with their $OME $PECIAL $HOWS 4 U tour. News of the change to the advertised plans was released on Sunday. Fans turning to the official Co-Op Arena website were met with a notice detailing the rescheduled concert. ‌ A notice warned: "Due to unforeseen ferry schedule and travel logistics, tomorrow's performance in Manchester on July 28th has been rescheduled." However, it continued: "The good news is that Drake will now perform in Manchester on Tuesday, August 5th, and it's set to be an unforgettable night. All tickets remain valid for the new date—we can't wait to see you there!" Further details about the headliner and his concert explained: "Five-time Grammy-award winning and multi-platinum global artist Drake announced his highly anticipated return to Europe and the UK with his $ome $pecial $hows 4 UK EU run kicking off this July. ‌ "The run will feature PARTYNEXTDOOR on all dates. Produced by Live Nation. The tour marks Drake's first return to Europe and the UK in six years, following his 2019 Assassination Vacation Tour." The change in dates has left some fans disappointed, however. One responded to the news sadly on Instagram, writing: "I'm so sad came way from New York to see the boy." ‌ Many others have taken to social media to try and sell their rescheduled tickets as they are no longer able to attend the gig following the switch up of dates. And Drake has also risked turning some fans against him due to the scheduling shambles. One bitterly hit out on X, writing: "so far drake cancelled/rescheduled 3 shows: manchester, belgium and zurich. who the f**k plans his tour dates and why is it that everytime he goes to europe he either cancels the dates or reschedules!!! people travel from other countries to his concerts!!! this is absurd!" Drake and PartyNextDoor have already played two dates in Manchester and a number of shows in London ahead of the rescheduled dates. They head to Amsterdam next before retuning to Manchester the following week. The duo will remain on the road until late September, playing to crowds in Germany, France, Italy, Sweden and more.
