There comes a day in every parent's life when we have to admit a hard truth: it's time to sell that old baby stuff. The adorable tiny sleepers, the crib, the nursing pillow … our babies grow out of things faster than we can blink, and there's no use holding onto the infant accessories they'll never require again (even if it is nostalgic and adorable). Letting it go can be a difficult pill to swallow, but you don't need it to sit around collecting dust, either. If you're wondering where to sell used baby stuff, we've compiled a list of the places you can go to turn your old baby gear into something more valuable to you.

Think Spring! Target Just Added Tons of Gorgeous New Patio Items
Target Is Having a Can't-Miss Spring Sandal Sale for Circle Members
The thrill of selling baby stuff for cash is great in and of itself, but there are so many other reasons to use sites like the ones we've listed below to sell, buy, and trade. Shopping sustainably is where it's at, and every thrifty transaction you make keeps a product out of a landfill — and gives it a chance to shine again. For every bit of baby gear you can't wait to get rid of, there's someone who will be excited to give it a home.
Before you sell baby stuff online, be sure to ask yourself a few key questions. Is it an item that you'd personally love to get? Is it free of wear, tear, stains, pilling, odor, and rips? Are there missing parts? Is it something you'd feel confident selling to a friend or acquaintance? If your items pass the test, you're ready to get out there and start making money!
(A version of this article was originally published in July 2022.)
Target
In case you needed another reason to love Target (ahem, we didn't), their semi-annual car seat trade-in program allows parents and caregivers to exchange their old car seats for a 20% off coupon good for a brand-new car seat, car seat base, stroller or travel system, or selected baby home gear items. These trade-in events are held twice a year at participating Target stores (look here to find a location near you!). The best part is, the car seats don't have to be functional to be usable, since they're being recycled — so even damaged car seats have a place in the trade in. And not only can you combine the 20% off coupon with other offers, but it can be redeemed twice!
Since the first event in 2016, Target has recycled a whopping 3 million car seats, partnering with Waste Management to turn the used baby stuff into construction materials and products like plastic buckets and pallets. No word yet on when the second trade-in event for 2025 is, but the first was in April, so another will likely be coming along in the fall.
GoodBuy Gear
GoodBuy Gear, an online reseller of baby and children's gear, makes getting rid of your old baby stuff a breeze. It's so simple: just take a look at this list to see if you've got anything to trade, mail it in, and get a cash or store credit! Depending on what you're trading in, you can keep 10 to 85 percent commission on the items you sell, so you can stock up on new gear just by trading in old baby stuff. And if you live in NYC, you can put your zip code in to schedule a pickup or dropoff near you.
Here are a few of their brand-name items you can buy at a fraction of the cost.

ThredUp
Babies grow so fast, don't they? In fact, they grow so fast that sometimes you've got an absolutely adorable outfit (or 12!) that they only get to wear a couple of times before it's too small. But that's where ThredUp comes in. It's an online consignment and thrift store that has something for every family member, from the youngest on up — even maternity clothing. You just request a 'Clean Out Kit' that comes with a shipping label; all you've got to do is fill it up with your gently-used baby stuff, and drop it off with FedEx or USPS. Then ThredUp will take care of the selling, and you can get cash (or shopping credit, so you can buy stuff for bigger babies … or, you know, yourself).
Check out their selection of baby boy and baby girl clothes from brands like Baby Gap, Zara Baby, Guess, Janie and Jack, and so many more!
eBay
As one of the oldest and most trusted resale sites on the internet, just about everyone is familiar with eBay — but not everyone is familiar with exactly how easy it is to sell old baby stuff and make money. You just photograph your item and upload it to the site with a title, set your price (eBay will recommend a price point based on similar things that have recently sold, which makes it a no-brainer), and wait for your item to sell. Once it does, you get paid in just a few days. Cha-ching!
Of course, eBay is a fantastic place to find incredible deals on baby stuff, too, just in case you need more or different baby stuff. Here are a few of the cool things we found for sale there — but you can poke around to see what kind of treasures you can find for yourself, like strollers, toys, baby and toddler clothing, and other baby essentials!

It isn't hard to sell used baby stuff online, and the payout makes it worthwhile, whether you're taking the cash or just replacing old things with new-to-you treasures. Once you start, you'll be obsessed with what you can sell — and what you can find.

The Best Things We Ate In July: Date Chutney, A Great Vinegar And More

Welcome to The Best Things We Ate, a monthly column from Forbes Vetted where our home and kitchen editors recall the most memorable snacks, drinks and pantry staples they tried and loved over the past month. July may have flown by in a flurry of barbecues and double-booked weekends, but amid the frenzy, we were scoping out the standout snacks, pantry staples and desserts that helped us savor the month to the fullest. These little food moments anchored us (and cooled us down), and now, we're sharing the best of what we ate with you. The best things we ate in July include snacks, condiments and sweet treats. ILLUSTRATION: FORBES / PHOTO: RETAILERS We taste a lot of things in any given month, of course, but these items stood out. Some were new-to-us gems, others were longtime staples we found ourselves using even more for whatever reason. Either way, they made our meals easier, more delicious or just plain better. From a seasonal vinegar that brightened up our salads to cold brew that kept us going through sweltering days, here's everything we couldn't stop eating (or drinking) this July: There's already a lot to love about Mediterranean olive oil brand Kosterina, from its cold-pressed olive oils and crushed fruit vinegars to its innovative extra-virgin olive oil skincare products. This summer, though, our singular obsession has been the company's seasonal cucumber lemon balsamic vinegar. Crafted from Meyer lemons, fresh cucumber and white wine vinegar, it has a wonderfully sweet finish (despite having no added sugar). And its fragrant balance of flavors tastes just as good drizzled on summer salads as it is swirled into cocktails. Summer dinner parties and barbecues are one of the best times to impress guests with unique sauces and condiments. We suggest keeping Brooklyn Delhi on your radar: The brand excels at producing unique, Indian-inspired condiments designed to elevate everyday dishes. Their Date Tamarind Chutney is our current favorite; it's just as good in an Indian curry as it is in a grilled cheese, thanks to a combination of brown sugar and tangy tamarind. We recommend serving it on a cheese board with a mild brie or Asiago, and reveling in your guests' inevitable oohs and ahhs. Wildgrain is known for shipping frozen artisanal baked goods directly to your door, requiring virtually no effort before your home is filled with the welcoming smells of fresh pastries and breads. Recently, the brand expanded its offerings to include several gluten-free options—and we're glad to report that these options do not disappoint. From tender loaves of bread with a just-right crumb to fresh pasta, Wildgrain's gluten-free offerings are good enough to satisfy wheat lovers and avoiders alike. (We particularly loved their chocolate chip cookies.) What's more, a subscription comes with free gluten-free cookies for life (really—subscribers get an extra pack of 6 gluten-free cookies in each shipment). Cold brew needs no introduction—it's the go-to summer caffeine fix for those who prefer a fuss-free, heat-free brew. But despite its popularity, it can be polarizing, often leaving a tangy or acidic aftertaste. That's why we loved this bottled, ready-to-drink option so much: It offers a smooth, full-bodied flavor that's bold yet balanced. The subtle hint of vanilla isn't sweet, but still feels like a treat, and it's just as satisfying black as it is with added flavors or creamers. Bonus: The coffee is organic and partially sourced from female-led farm cooperatives. Pickles are everywhere this summer—from viral pickle martini recipes to a Sonic and Grillo's collaboration featuring a Picklerita Slush drink (yes, really). So we weren't too surprised to spot these dill pickle almonds at our local grocery store, nor were we surprised that we ended up bringing them home. Turns out, they make an excellent snack: The flavor is unmistakably pickle-forward, with savory dill, garlic and vinegar notes that are seriously addictive. They're also surprisingly wholesome, made with a mix of sprouted almonds and pumpkin seeds that deliver protein, healthy fats and beneficial vitamins in every serving. Dairy-free alternatives are often more disappointing than satisfying, especially when it comes to ice cream. But Jeni's is the exception. The Texas Sheet Cake flavor is made with a coconut base that has a surprisingly dairy-like creaminess rather than being icy or thin. And this flavor in particular is addictively indulgent, with fair trade cocoa, dollops of semisweet fudge and generous chunks of chocolate cake. It's enough to make you want to schedule a date night with yourself. Right now, this is our go-to spice blend for dippable olive oil; it really comes in handy this time of year. We've used it to add extra flavor to tuna and tomato salads, season meat or fish before it hits the grill and zhuzh up just about anything that needs a savory boost. The blend combines garlic, pepper, rosemary, paprika and other herbs for a versatile flavor we've found ourselves reaching for multiple times a week.

Ballard Designs Launches Dorm Collection For 2025: Stylish Essentials For College And Beyond

According to Statista, in 2024, American consumers planned to spend a total of about $12.2 billion on back-to-college dorm or apartment furnishings, but considering designer dorm rooms are only on the rise, that number will likely increase in 2025. So, it's no surprise that Ballard Designs has gotten into this category, quietly launching a dorm line in March 2025. The response to the launch has been overwhelmingly positive, thanks to the brand's colorful aesthetic aligning perfectly with today's popular dorm design trends, according to Patrick Farrell, Ballard's Vice President of Merchandising, 'Dorm, as a category, has been on our radar for many years,' he tells me. 'We love color and prints so combined that with Ballard's strength in beautiful bedrooms to create unique stories, perfect for the back-to-school timeframe. Our goal was to make it easy for customers to help their daughters get college-ready by move-in day and we accomplished the goal!' Ballard currently offers 202 items in the dorm category—some products that were previously available, as well as some new ones. For College And Beyond What sets Ballard's dorm line apart is its exceptional quality—designed to last well beyond the freshman and sophomore years. From headboards to decor, these pieces are a higher investment than typical dorm products, but they offer long-term value that transitions seamlessly from the college years to the first apartment and beyond. 'All our Dorm items are made to the Ballard quality standard and are designed for many years of use,' says Farrell. This also builds customer loyalty for Ballard. 'We hope that our Dorm customer loves her room so much she takes pieces with her and builds on them over time into her first apartment and future home,' he explains. The Dorm category on the website is also smartly curated. In addition to items specifically designed for dorm rooms, the line includes furniture pieces ideal for smaller spaces, such as secretary desks, bookcases, and nightstands. There's also essentials like towels and bedding, as well as useful accessories like rechargeable lamps. Headboards One of the most notable launches is the collection of headboards, designed in collaboration with the stylish dorm bedding brand Room 422. Ballard's headboards are made from foam, which means they attach to the wall without creating any damage. That also makes them a fantastic choice for any future rental home. There are five styles available—Emily, Caroline, Molly, Isabel, and Hailey—each in multiple colors and patterns. These are also top sellers, reveals Farrell. 'The foam headboards are extremely popular and we are hearing of uses beyond the dorm, for guest rooms, rental properties, apartment living and more.' Pillows Pillows are another hallmark of the line. 'Our Caitlin Oversized Pillow is the Ballard version of a backrest pillow and does multiple duty as a comfy bed pillow, a bolster, a wedge, and a study rest.' Another option is the Lexie Appliqué Monogram Pillow, which is available in five colors. In true Southern style, it can be personalized with a monogram, name, or initials. Hannah Dorm Bedskirt Trying to find extra storage in a dorm room can be incredibly challenging, so many students opt to loft their beds. However, this isn't the most aesthetic choice. So, the Hannah Paneled Dorm Bedskirt is designed to cover up the under-bed mess on elevated platform beds. It's also made to coordinate with the Caitlin and Lexie pillows. 'All three work together in the same family and provide a layered look that is both beautiful and functional.'
