Tom Brady
gets candid about fatherhood, his hero, and the lessons he hopes to pass on
Despite achieving unparalleled success with the New England Patriots and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and landing a massive $375 million contract with Fox Sports after retirement, Brady often steers the conversation away from himself. When asked who he admires most, the answer has remained consistent throughout the years. 'I think my dad is my hero, because he's somebody I look up to every day,' Brady once said, holding back tears in an emotional

clip shared by Fox.
Brady's tribute to his father isn't just reserved for interviews. On Father's Day, he posted a heartfelt message on Instagram alongside photos of his parents and his children. 'Happy Father's Day to my dad who taught me everything about what it means to be a father,' he wrote. 'And to all the dads out there that who are great role models to their kids.'
In his eyes, Tom Brady Sr. wasn't just a supportive father—he was the blueprint for how to live with purpose.

'My dad has always been my biggest supporter, my best friend, and my No. 1 teacher not just in sports but in life," Brady shared. "The values he passed on to our family — hard work, integrity, compassion, and unconditional love, shaped me in every way."
Even years after stepping off the field, Brady's reflections on fatherhood continue to strike a deeply personal chord. In a 2022 interview with ESPN, he became visibly emotional while discussing how he tries to emulate his father in raising his own three children.
'When I think about being a dad, I think about him. Because of what my dad meant to me," he said. 'I know I'm not as good as dad to my kids that my dad's been to me.
'
Brady's goal is not to mold his children into future NFL stars, but to guide them in becoming compassionate, respectful, and fulfilled individuals. 'We want our kids to be happy, I want them to be respectful to people, and I want them to be kind and make the world a better place,' he emphasized.
Although Brady famously used his sixth-round draft snub as motivation to fuel his historic NFL journey, he hopes his kids won't inherit the same all-consuming drive. 'What I really want for them is to find something they love like I have,' he said. 'But I have taken it to an extreme too… there are imbalances in my life and I hope they don't take things as far as I've taken them.'
He concluded with a candid truth many parents can relate to: 'I want them to find great success in whatever they do but there's a torment in me that I don't wish upon them.'
Brady may have retired from football, but in fatherhood, his most meaningful legacy is still unfolding.

WATCH: R Ashwin drops a sitter in TNPL as Chepauk Super Gillies beat Dindigul Dragons by 8 runs
R Ashwin (right) and Varun Chakravarthy plays for Dindigul Dragons in the TNPL. (TNPL | X) Dindigul Dragons skipper R Ashwin dropped a sitter during their match against Chepauk Super Gillies in the ongoing Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) on Monday. On the last ball of the 19th over, Chepauk's N Sunil Krishna looked to go downtown but mistimed it completely. The ball went straight to Ashwin at long-off, but he spilled it. The captain was in disbelief—so was the bowler, Sandeep Warrier. View this post on Instagram A post shared by FanCode (@fancode) However, it was a stunning finish to the match as Chepauk Super Gillies defeated Dindigul Dragons by 8 runs. The victory kept the Chepauk side on top of the points table, whereas Ashwin's Dindigul Dragons are fifth with two wins and as many losses in four outings. "Lack of experience. We would have won it comfortably, but I feel the lack of experience cost us the game," Dragons captain R Ashwin said after the match. "Finishing a game is a different skill, and it was about the inexperience of our batters. CSG bowled well and held their nerves. I won't say it was a failure—it was a learning for us." It was indeed a thrilling end, as TD Lokesh Raj picked up a five-wicket haul inside two overs to win it for the Super Gillies. "I have been on the losing side a lot in situations like these. Happy to be on the winning side this time," said Baba Aparajith, captain of Chepauk Super Gillies. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Giao dịch CFD với công nghệ và tốc độ tốt hơn IC Markets Đăng ký Undo Aparajith showered praise on Lokesh and said: "It is difficult for bowlers to come in and start bowling from the 18th over. Hats off to him for taking a five-wicket haul. Even in the match against Nellai, I used him in the death overs. In situations like these, the true talent of players comes out." Lokesh was adjudged Player of the Match for his five-wicket haul. "They had the upper hand. Apar anna (Baba Aparajith) trusted me and asked me to bowl only wide yorkers. It just came out in the heat of the moment. The advantage of our team is that we have 6–7 bowlers. Thanks to Apar anna for trusting me," he said.
