Oregon football QB target Bryson Beaver has standout week at Elite 11 Finals
If college football teams didn't know who Bryson Beaver was a week ago, they likely are pretty aware now.
The 4-star quarterback and Oregon Ducks target had one of the best weeks of all players at the Elite 11 Finals in Los Angeles over the past few days, being named as the No. 3 performer on the week from On3. Texas Longhorns quarterback Dia Bell took home the Elite 11 Finals MVP award, with Texas A&M Aggies QB Helaman Casuga being named the second-best passer.
Beaver was named a standout player on Day 1 of the camp, and he followed that by turning some heads on the final day as well. According to On3's Charles Power, Beaver was dynamic in the throwing session to end the day, saying that he "cemented his status as the fastest-rising quarterback in the 2026 cycle."
"He flashed arguable the strongest arm of all finalists during drill work in Day 1 and made a handful of the more impressive throws we saw in his pro day workout on Day 2," Powers wrote. "Beaver capped things off with perhaps the best 7-on-7 sessions on Thursday, hitting 19 of 26 passes for five touchdowns, in impressive fashion."
It's been quite an eventful 10 days for Beaver, capped off with this head-turning performance at Elite 11. Rated a three-star commit to the Boise State Broncos a week ago, Beaver has since seen his rating rise to a four-star after being offered by the Ducks. He has taken a couple of visits to SEC schools after receiving offers from the Ole Miss Rebels and Alabama Crimson Tide. He also scheduled an official visit to Oregon for this coming weekend, and is now predicted to land with the Ducks according to a new Crystal Ball prediction from 247Sports' Blair Angulo.
As Beaver continues to perform at a high level throughout the rest of the offseason, interest is going to grow. However, the Ducks appear to be in a great spot to land a commitment from him in the near future.

Standing at 6-foot-5, 200 pounds, Washington is rated by 247Sports as the No. 18 player and No. 2 safety in the 2026 class. Washington is Oregon's second safety committed in the 2026 class, joining 4-star Xavier Lherisse. Washington was in Eugene last weekend for his official visit, and he had rave reviews after leaving Eugene. He was one of six 5-star players in town during the first weekend of June, joining the likes of S Joey O'Brien, EDGE Ricahed Wesley, WR Calvin Russell, CB Brandon Arrington, and LB Tyler Atkinson. Oregon had the No. 33-ranked class in the 2026 cycle before the addition of Washington, but they jumped up to No. 22 after adding the second 5-star recruit to their class. Need a break? The Alabama commit dominated his Pro Day, throwing precise passes on nearly all of his scripted plays. Power praised Thomalla for his footwork and ability to push the ball downfield. 247Sports ranks Thomalla as the eighth-best quarterback following the conclusion of the second day of the recruiting period. Advertisement Thomalla's standout performance comes on the same week he decommitted from Iowa State and pledged his allegiance to Alabama. On Tuesday, just weeks after taking his official visit to Iowa State, Thomalla decommitted from the Big 12 power. On the same day, he committed to the University of Alabama. Alabama was the last of 12 teams to offer Thomalla but unquestionably had enough of an impact to sway his decision. The four-star quarterback in the 2026 class earned MaxPreps Nebraska Player of the Year honors last year, throwing for 3,663 yards, 47 touchdowns, and three picks. Barring another decommitment, he will join a Crimson Tide roster flush with blue-chip quarterback talent. This season, head coach Kalen DeBoer will welcome five-star passer Keelon Russell, while former five-star prospect Ty Simpson will likely start the season under center. On3 Recruits deemed Thomalla a top ten performer, while others had him slip into the top five. Any doubters of Thomalla are likely to change their tune about his continued performance on Thursday. Thomalla shined during 7on7 drills, going 14-of-21 with four touchdowns and an interception. For reference, Washington Huskies commit Derek Zammit also tossed four touchdowns, but it came on 24 pass attempts, with two resulting in interceptions. Worth noting, Briggs Cherry (Louisville Cardinals), Jonas Williams (USC Trojans), Travis Burgess (North Carolina Tar Heels), Helaman Casuga (Texas A&M Aggies), and Troy Huhn (Penn State Nittany Lions) all tossed five or more touchdowns. The four-star passer in the class of 2026 made headlines this week after decommitting from the Iowa State Cyclones and pivoting to Alabama. The hard commitment from Thomalla comes with superstar five-star Keelon Russell joining Alabama this fall. He will compete with former blue-chip prospect Ty Simpson. Meanwhile, Thomalla dominated at Millard South High School in Omaha, Nebraska, last season, accumulating 3,664 passing yards, 47 touchdowns, and three interceptions.
