MotD's Mark Chapman to also host some of Sky's live Premier League coverage
But Sky Sports has announced the 51-year-old, who has presented some of its Carabao Cup matches, is also going to host its Premier League coverage, along with Cates and David Jones.
It means Chapman and Cates will have to juggle their commitments to both broadcasters – Chapman is first up in the MOTD hot-seat this coming Saturday evening.
But Sky's chief sports officer Jonathan Licht believes the cross-channel pollination will be a hit.
'We're delighted that Mark's joining us alongside Kelly and Dave,' Licht said as he launched Sky's coverage plans for the new season, which will see the broadcaster show a minimum of 215 live Premier League matches.
'Clearly we have more games this season, we needed more presenters. I'm not going to go into all the details of how many games Mark will do, but Mark will work across the Carabao Cup and Premier League.
'He will work weekends, yes, and we'll work with him and Kelly. We're delighted that Kelly is working on Match of the Day next season as well.
'We'll work with both of those to work through our schedule and we've got control of the calendar in terms of the picking of the matches. We're all adults and we'll see how it goes.
'It's clearly new territory, but we're looking forward to having everybody on board.'
Sky Sports have also rebranded 'Super Sunday' to 'Supersized Super Sunday', as when one or more matches are moved to a Sunday due to European competitions, they will all be shown live with a multi-view option available.
Sunday's coverage will end with a new analysis show, 'Extra Time', hosted by former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher.

"It's just going to hit them at moments during games, at the end of games, after victories, after defeats. They'll recognise they've got their team-mate, their colleague, someone they loved, not with them any more. It's incredibly sad, and obviously what we've just seen there from Mo Salah was really special." Moments earlier, Salah had clinched victory for Liverpool with a stoppage-time goal. However, victory wasn't always assured for the reigning Premier League champions. Liverpool went in 1-0 up at the break, with Hugo Ekitike scoring on his Premier League debut, and Cody Gakpo doubled the lead early in the second half. The lead didn't last, though, with Antoine Semenyo scoring twice for the visitors. It looked as though victory would elude victory, only for super-sub Federico Chiesa to volley home from around the penalty spot. The goal was the Italian's first in the Premier League, and just the third he has scored for Liverpool since joining from Juventus. "I said on commentary that it was a weird decision. Taking [Florian] Wirtz off and Chiesa on," commentator Jamie Carragher said. "But that's a magical moment for him. A last minute winner in front of the Kop. I thought he mis-hit it but he actually got really good contact on it. It doesn't go in with any great pace." Former Liverpool defender Stephen Warnock was covering the game for BBC Radio 5 Live and he had praise for Salah's clincher. "So often we see him come off the right flank onto his left foot but this time it comes from the opposite side," he said. "He backs the defenders off into the penalty area, cuts inside on his right foot and another pass into that far corner. A quite brilliant finish." Liverpool have got their Premier League title defence off to a winning start in thrilling fashion as they scored late to beat Bournemouth at Anfield. It looked to be a comfortable night for the Reds as they opened up a two-goal lead in the second half, but then found themselves level with the Cherries late in the game. It took an unlikely hero in Federico Chiesa to put them back ahead in the dying moments, before a more familiar goal-scorer netted a fourth. Hugo Ekitike opened his Premier League account for the Reds as he put them ahead on 37 minutes, continuing his fine start to life at Liverpool after netting in the Community Shield last weekend. The Frenchman turned provider after the break as he teed up Cody Gakpo and the Dutchman coolly curled in an effort into the bottom corner, just four minutes into the second half. It was a similar story just over 10 minutes later as Semenyo was the man to finish off a counter-attack again, stunning Anfield by putting Bournemouth level. The Reds were concerningly open through the middle of the pitch as the Cherries broke, with Ibrahima Konate unable to stop Semenyo on the edge of the penalty box and he fired beyond Alisson. Arne Slot's men were desperately pushing for a winner and eventually found it through substitute Chiesa who volleyed home a loose clearance inside the area on 88 minutes to delight the home fans. Mo Salah then rounded off the scoring in injury time, showing great fight and energy so late in the day to end the drama. It was an emotional evening at Anfield as tributes were paid to Diogo Jota before kick-off after his tragic death last month. Mohamed Salah in tears as Liverpool fans sing Diogo Jota's name at Anfield
Mohamed Salah wiped away tears as he listened to Liverpool fans sing songs in tribute to Diogo Jota after the team's victory over Bournemouth at Anfield. Liverpool won 4-2 in the opening match of the Premier League season, with goals from Hugo Ekitike, Cody Gakpo, Federico Chiesa and Salah getting their title defence off to a winning start. Jota died in a car crash along with brother Andre Silva in Spain on 3 July after a suspected tyre blowout. The tragedy occurred only 11 days after Jota, a 28-year-old father of three, had married his long-term partner Rute Cardoso. Jota 's family were in attendance at Anfield on Friday night as Liverpool fans sang a rousing rendition of You'll Never Walk Alone, before a minute's silence was impeccably observed. A loud rendition of Jota's song was accompanied by banners commemorating the late forward, one of them in the Bournemouth end, in a gesture by the visiting fans. Mosaics were formed by fans in the Kenny Dalglish Stand and the Kop as Liverpool paid their own tribute. Chants of Jota's name continued to ring around the stadium as the game got underway, all players wearing black armbands, with fans singing his now immortalised 'Number 20' anthem. And afterwards, Salah stood in front of the Kop soaking in the moment as supporters sang Jota's name. "We know that this will be a very emotional occasion, given it is the first league game we have played since we lost Diogo and Andre,' Arne Slot had said in his pre-match programme notes. "As I have said previously, the tributes that have been paid throughout the football world, and especially within the LFC community, have been truly special, and I know that tonight we will come together to honour them once more.' Reds captain Virgil van Dijk added in his notes: 'It will be a very emotional occasion for everybody associated with the club, and especially for Diogo's wife, Rute, their children and his family, who will be in attendance this evening. 'They remain, of course, the most important people in all of this, and it is important that we as a club – players, staff, supporters – are there for them always, and that they know that they will always be loved and welcomed here at Anfield.' Liverpool retired Jota's No 20 shirt earlier this summer, with the Portuguese forward listed under 'Forever' on their website's squad list.
