But no one landed a bigger gamble than the shrewdie who turned a fiver into an eye-popping £51,224.
They somehow picked TEN winners in a monster accumulator that took in results at Chester, Newton Abbot, Kelso and Fontwell.
The first two results were the favourites at Chester - Ali Shuffle and Redorange - at 5-6 andf 13-8 respectively.
The market leaders ran riot at Newton Abbot for the jumps, with six of the seven races won by the favs.
Roxanne (2-5), Gwennie May Jem (5-6), Sweet Caryline (9-4) and Al Sayah (9-4) all obliged at the Devon track, while Aidan O'Brien's impressive 11-8 winner Lambourn kept the ball rolling at Chester.
Kilmore Rock won the 4pm at Kelso at 3-1 before Jack Sparrow's win in the 6.40pm at Fontwell left it all hanging on the final leg.
Abbey Heights was backed at 15-8 for the 8pm contest at Kempton but sent off 6-5 fav under Jim Crowley.
The winning punt
1.30 Chester – Ali Shuffle – 5-6
2.05 Chester – Redorange – 13-8
2.15 Newton Abbot – Roxanne – 2-5
2.45 Newton Abbot – Gwennie M – 5-6
3.05 Chester – Lambourn – 11-8
3.15 Newton Abbot – Sweet Caryline – 9-4
4.00 Kelso – Kilmore Rock – 3-1
4.20 Newton Abbot – Al Sayah – 9-4
6.40 Fontwell – Jack Sparrow – 15-8
8.00 Kempton – Abbey Heights – 15-8
Stake: £5
Returned: £51,224.32
Trained by Daniel and Claire Kubler, the seven-year-old gelding burst out the gates in a bid to make all.
The punter's heart would have been in their mouth as challengers circled Abbey Heights like sharks a furlong out.
But he stayed on well to win by just over two lengths and secure the colossal sum.
Coral's John Hill said: "With winners at four different racecourses, ten overall across the day, it was a magical start to Chester's May Meeting for one customer.
"They scooped over £51,000 from just a £5 stake.
"It was a tough day for bookmakers as the opening four favourites prevailed at Chester, while at Newton Abbot, six of the seven races were won by the favourite.
"We don't think this will be the only customer celebrating a fancy payout on a multiple bet on Wednesday."

Ruth Carr fan lands amazing £96,000 bet on day to remember for Yorkshire trainer
The Coral customer from Huddersfield put four of the trainer's runners in a £1 Lucky 15 which all won, including a 28-1 winner at Goodwood A fan of Yorkshire trainer Ruth Carr has collected £96,000 after pulling off an extraordinary accumulator bet featuring four of her horses. Stillington-based Carr sent five runners to the races on Tuesday, three to Beverley and two to Sussex for the opening day of the Glorious Goodwood Festival. Not only did four of them win, including Brazen Bolt at odds of 28-1 in the valuable Shaker Handicap, but a Coral customer from Huddersfield had included the horses in a £1 Lucky 15. Star Start got the bet under way by dead-heating in the first leg at Beverley, then Brazen Bolt scored under Warren Fentiman, before Joanna Mason rode a double for the stable on Jojo Rabbit and King Sharja at Beverley. The betting shop punter's total winnings came to £96,052.50. 'Our punter from Huddersfield is clearly a big Ruth Carr fan, and their confidence in the Yorkshire-based trainer paid dividends on Tuesday, as they scooped just over 96k after including all four winners in a Lucky 15,' said Coral's John Hill. 'Carr's biggest-priced winner came at Glorious Goodwood, with Brazen Bolt struck in the sprint handicap at odds of 28-1. It was a day to remember for the trainer, and arguably an even bigger day for the Huddersfield-based customer.' Carr said: 'Well done that person. I'm pretty sure we haven't had a four-timer before. It takes some doing. You never go down into a big sprint handicap down south at a Festival meeting full of confidence. 'But the horse had been in good form, his back form was there as well. We took a valuable 5lb off, he got a straightforward ride and the old boy got the job done.' Find out more here. Carr did not travel to Goodwood for, preferring Beverley, where she has now trained eight winners in 2025. 'It's a long way and there are 40 other horses at home to train,' she said. 'I rode out and then went to Beverley which is just up the road. 'The horses are healthy and we appear to be getting in the right races. Luck is going our way and sometimes somebody else's bad luck is your good luck and we seem to be getting plenty of the good luck at the moment.'

Credit: Alamy The race to replace Daniel Craig as James Bond is heating up — and whilst some major stars are in the running, a few lesser-known names are also being thrown into the mix. Bookmaker Coral can now report that Scott Rose-Marsh has emerged as a contender to become the next James Bond, at least in their betting, as he is now just 6-1 (cut from 16-1) for the role. 'This gamble on Scott Rose-Marsh has caught us off guard, and after some substantial support behind him, we think he is now a serious contender, alongside Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Theo James and Jack Lowden,' said Coral's John Hill. Scott, who trained at the BRIT school, is known for his multiple appearances as Pete in Welsh network S4C's Yr Amgueddfa, and as Jerome in the BBC One series Chloe. Denis Villeneuve is on board as the franchise's next director and Amazon is looking at a 2028 release date for 26th instalment. Insiders have told Variety that the studio and producers are interested in casting a British actor under the age of 30. Many actors have been in the running for the role including Aaron Taylor Johnson, Josh O'Connor, and Regé-Jean Page. But, it's Saltburn star Jacob Elordi, Spider-Man's Tom Holland and Babygirl actor Harris Dickinson who are at the top of the wish list. Heartthrob Jacob, who has been a firm name in the mix for a while now, has given fans a hint that he may be taking over the role from Daniel Craig. The star has recently re-activated his Instagram account. As a result, fans have speculated that the star could be gearing up for some promo for a movie, with many keeping fingers crossed that that movie is James Bond. Jacob is yet to share any posts on his Instagram account, despite reactivating it. Although Jacob is Australian, it does not rule him out - especially as Aussie actor George Lazenby previously played Bond in On Her Majesty's Secret Service in 1969. 5 Jacob Elordi has recently given fans a hint that he may be taking over the role from Daniel Craig Credit: Getty 5 Scott is known for his multiple appearances as Pete in Welsh network S4C's Yr Amgueddfa Credit: S4C

'I thought sister was joking when she named baby after fish – but she's serious'
A mum-to-be was left horrified by the name her sister has chosen for her unborn son - as she's decided to name the baby after a fish, and has even bought some personalised items It's usually taboo to slate parents for their choice of baby names, but some are so outlandish it's hard not to comment. Parents have the freedom to pick any name that tickles their fancy for their newborns. Whether it's a traditional name or something more avant-garde, there's no definitive right or wrong. However, choosing an extremely odd name might attract some raised eyebrows and negative feedback. One expectant mother left her sister utterly astonished with her choice of name for her soon-to-arrive son, as the name was so extraordinary she initially thought it was a wind-up. Taking to Reddit, the woman explained how her sister has had a lifelong passion for marine life and had always dreamed of giving her offspring an ocean-inspired name. While there are many distinctive sea-related names like Ocean, Marina, Coral, and Finn, this mum-to-be has decided to name her boy after a fish – the sea bass, to be precise. The shocked sister explained: "She said she settled on the name 'Seabass', yes, the fish. I am not making this up, I truly wish I was. She's always been a playful person so I truly thought she was joking but she said she really loved it." With seven months of pregnancy behind her, the future mother has already invested in personalised name signs and a monogrammed blanket emblazoned with 'Seabass', showing she's dead serious about this quirky choice. The soon-to-be aunt shared her concerns, saying: "I told her that I really don't think this is a good choice, tried to give her other nature or ocean names, and even asked if she could use the name Sebastian." However, she was met with resistance. Her sister added: "She wasn't having it and said 'This name feels right for him'. I know he's not my child, and so I'm trying to respect her choice." The sibling acknowledged the baby isn't hers, so she's trying to respect her sister's decision. However, online commenters were equally stunned by the mother's unusual choice of name for her son. Many agreed that Seabass could be a cute nickname for someone named Sebastian, but found it odd as a given name. One commenter expressed disbelief: "Oh, good grief. We know a little guy called Sebastian who gets called Seabass by his family, but it's not like it's his actual name!" Another was at a loss for words: "I actually can't think of a way to respond to this in a nice way... I am genuinely flabbergasted." However, the poster went on to edit her post with some good news, saying: "FINAL UPDATE: She went with Sebastian!! Thank God! I was so so worried. But his nickname is Seabass haha!"
