4-star QB Bryson Beaver announces commitment to Oregon Ducks

USA Today25-06-2025
The Oregon Ducks have their quarterback in the class of 2026.
On Wednesday, 4-star QB Bryson Beaver officially announced that he would be joining the Ducks this cycle, a commitment that comes less than a month after his decommitment from the Boise State Broncos.
Beaver is a fast-rising prospect who has seen his recruitment blow up over the last month. Since receiving an offer from Oregon on June 11, Beaver has watched as several other offers poured in from the likes of Alabama, Ole Miss, Colorado, LSU, and Auburn. He has also taken a handful of visits to SEC country, turned heads at the Elite 11 Finals, and ended up in Eugene for an official visit as well.
Now his recruitment comes full circle with a commitment to the Ducks, taking over as their lone QB in the 2026 class.
Beaver received a recruiting bump this week on 247Sports, jumping up from the No. 71-ranked QB in the class to No. 17, while also moving from a 3-star player to a 4-star.
The Ducks were originally after players like 5-star QB Jared Curtis and 5-star QB Ryder Lyons. Still, they've done a great job of pivoting and identifying a fast-rising prospect midway through the cycle and getting him as a member of the program.

Oregon Ducks to play Gonzaga Bulldogs in neutral-site basketball game

The Oregon Ducks men's basketball team is finally scheduling a game that fans have wanted to see for quite some time in Eugene. In 2025, Oregon will face off against the Gonzaga Bulldogs on December 21st at the Moda Center in Portland, Oregon. CBS Sports' Jon Rothstein was the first to report the news. The Pacific Northwest matchup hasn't occurred since 2019, when Gonzaga came away with a 73-72 overtime victory in the Bad Boy Mowers Battle 4 Atlantis tournament. The Ducks lead the all-time series 19-4 over the Bulldogs, with the majority of the games dating back over 50 years. The meeting will feature two of the best coaches in the country in Oregon's Dana Altman and Gonzaga's Mark Few, with Altman having 780 career wins to Few's 742. They rank 16th and 22nd, respectively, in head coaching wins in college basketball history. This will be a coveted ticket at the Moda Center, giving fans an early Christmas present with two Pacific Northwest teams facing off. Oregon suspends receiver Jurrion Dickey

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) — Oregon coach Dan Lanning announced Tuesday that wide receiver Jurrion Dickey has been suspended indefinitely. Dickey, a former five-star recruit, has played in 15 games in two years with the Ducks, but has only had two catches for 14 yards. Lanning did not specify the reasons for Dickey's suspension, but said the team has two team rules, 'be respectful, be on time.' 'There's some pieces of that where I felt like he needed a break from us and we needed a break from that so we could focus on what's in front of us right now," Lanning said. 'Wishing him nothing but the best, as far as success and want to see him get back to where he can be a contributor somewhere; that might be here. That might be somewhere else.' The Ducks were ranked No. 7 in the preseason AP Top 25 Poll. The team was already thin at wide receiver with the loss of Evan Stewart, the Ducks' top returner who injured his knee in the offseason and could miss the season. Florida State transfer Malik Benson, senior Gary Bryant Jr. and redshirt juniors Kyler Kasper and Justius Lowe are expected to help fill the void. ___ Get poll alerts and updates on the AP Top 25 throughout the season.
