3 injured in fiery crash in Sandusky County: OSHP
BALLVILLE TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WJW) – The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating after a fiery crash in Sandusky County left three people injured on Wednesday.
The crash happened on South River Road, south of Buckland Avenue in Ballville Township just after 5 p.m.
According to state troopers, a 2003 Chevy Silverado was heading north on South River Road when the driver 'failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway' and went left-of-center, side-swiping a 2007 Chevy Silverado heading south.

The driver, a 24-year-old Findlay woman, then reportedly went off the west side of the road, hitting two traffic signs before getting back on. She then went off the east side of the road and hit two trees, causing the pickup truck to catch fire, OSHP said.
According to state troopers, the driver of the other vehicle, a 23-year-old Helena man, was able to pull her from the pickup before it became completely engulfed in flames.
The 2003 Silverado driver suffered from serious injuries in the crash. She was taken to Saint Vincent's Medical Center and investigators said she's in stable condition.

A passenger in the 2003 Silverado, identified as a 25-year-old Fremont man, was able to escape the fiery vehicle on his own. He was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Neither of them were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash, OSHP reported.
The 2007 Silverado driver suffered from minor injuries, state troopers said. He was reportedly wearing a seat belt.
According to the state patrol, alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation at this time.

Deputy tracks down car, identity theft suspect
(EL PASO COUNTY, Colo.) — A woman was arrested after she was allegedly found in possession of the keys to a stolen car, financial documents, as well as methamphetamine. According to the El Paso County Sheriff's Office (EPSO), shortly after 1:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 10, deputies were conducting a patrol check at the Econo Lodge on Panamint Court, near the intersection of Peterson Road and Highway 24, when they spotted a black Chevrolet Silverado displaying a fake temporary license plate. Further investigation revealed the Chevrolet was reported stolen in March 2025. EPSO said no one was in the car at the time. A search of the Silverado resulted in the discovery of numerous pieces of mail, checks, and other documents bearing the name 'Brandy Cheeks.' Additionally, several checks were found made out to various individuals and businesses, along with multiple blank checks. Deputies contacted the hotel's staff and subsequently located 33-year-old Brandy Cheek in one of the hotel rooms. Cheek was allegedly found in possession of the keys to the stolen Chevy and about .57 grams of meth. She also had an active felony warrant for identity theft. Cheek was arrested and booked into the El Paso County Jail on multiple charges: Felony warrant for identity theft Forgery New charges of identity theft Second degree motor vehicle theft Unlawful possession of a controlled substance Cheek has since been released on bond and is due in El Paso County Court on June 20. Michelin-star chef called his assault victim from jail for help with bond: Court documents
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (WJW) — A Michelin-star chef is facing more charges after he reportedly tried to contact the woman he is accused of assaulting to help him get out of jail, court documents reveal. Jacob Bickelhaupt, 41, left a voicemail for the victim on June 4, telling her to call his public defender and say she didn't want a no-contact order that had been filed against him, according to a criminal affidavit obtained by FOX 8 News. He disappeared in 1991. Investigators now dig for clues in his family's old backyard 'I have nowhere to stay, nowhere to sleep. … I need your help,' Bickelhaupt reportedly said in one voicemail, asking her to help him post bond, which at the time was $90,000. Twenty minutes later he called again. 'Here is the deal, I know there is a lot going on, and you're in really bad shape. I'm going to be here for a very long time if you so choose, maybe a year,' he said. 'I'm not trying to sound inconsiderate right now. I really don't have a lot of time. I love you. Please call that number.' The number he called, according to the affidavit, was not the victim's own line, but a joint number for Bickelhaupt's high-end West Palm Beach restaurant, Konro. A business partner reported the calls to authorities, according to Palm Beach Sherriff's Office. With the discovery of the phone calls, witness tampering and contempt charges were added to Bickelhaupt's aggravated battery and battery charges. His bond now sits at $99,000, according to the sheriff's office. Man arrested in murder of missing father found dead in East Cleveland The West Palm Beach Police Department was originally called to Saint Mary's Medical Center on June 2, when a patient's story wasn't sitting right with the medical team. According to police, a patient told staff she had been in a car accident, but the story was inconsistent. The victim's injuries were so severe, with bruising and swelling to her face and upper body, she was rushed into an emergency brain bleed surgery. The victim reportedly told police the assault lasted two hours, leading in part to Bickelhaupt's arrest. The victim was recovering in an intensive care unit when Bickelhaupt attempted to reach out to her from jail, according to police.
