6m ago 6:39am Fun fact: The backstage team at Eurovision only has about 35 seconds to change the set.
That's all the time they get to make sure the props are swapped out for the next performance and to get all the performers ready, mic'd up, and in the right spot.
"We call it the Formula 1 tyre change," Richard van Rouwendaal, the Dutch Eurovision stage manager told BBC.
"Each person in the crew can only do one thing. You run on stage with one light bulb or one prop. You always walk on the same line. If you go off course, you will hit somebody."
"It's a bit like ice skating."
The stage crew has about two weeks to practice before the big day.

6m ago 6:39am The Netherlands is up next, with Claude's 'C'est la vie'
There's something nice about not knowing the words to any of these songs as a mere uncultured monolingual speaker, but feeling a jolt of excitement when they say, in English, "it goes up, it goes down".
So true, Claude. It does go up and down.

7m ago 6:39am I know I'm not the only person who still dreams Finland's infamous 'Cha Cha Cha' by Käärijä at the 2023 contest (robbed!).
Finland's Erika Vikman channels the Finnish Eurovision spirit — which I can only assume is absolutely whackadoo — with 'Ich komme'.
It gets so intense towards the end that I'm just left staring at the screen as my eyes are assaulted with blasts of light and 'ICH KOMME' in big letters, which translates to 'I'm coming'.
Our overlords, Courtney Act and Tony Armstrong, also drop that we may be getting a surprise performance from Käärijä tonight?! Yes, yes, a thousand times, yes.

31m ago 6:15am If I could have access to a time machine, I would use it to take me back approximately seven minutes so I could watch Iceland's performance again.
A dash of K-pop, a sliver of Irish dancing, mixed with an electronic sea shanty, Iceland's Væb is immediately making me want to invest in some silver get-up.

37m ago 6:09am The girls are here.
Now we've got Remembering Monday with 'What the Hell Just Happened?'.
They literally look like a jazzier, more Sabrina Carpenter version of The Powerpuff Girls. In my view, that's always a sign of a winning performance.
They even cap off their performance with big smiles inside a love heart! This is canon now, as far as I'm concerned.

37m ago 6:08am The Eurovision Song Contest is always a visual treat, with many performers going all out with not only their vocals, but also their outfits, visual effects, and stage design.
Here are some of the best images so far.

52m ago 5:54am It's not Eurovision unless it literally looks like someone has placed a sheer stocking — or a schmear of Vaseline — over the camera lens.
The crowd is chuffed by Ukraine's entrant, Ziferblat with 'Bird of Pray'.
My favourite part was the screen blackouts that immediately made me believe I had a power outage, as I'm sure it did for many other watch parties out there.

56m ago 5:49am The wind machine really is working overtime for Lithuania, with Katarsis' 'Tavo akys'.
It's kind of giving an even campier version of Evanescence, which I am absolutely an advocate for.
The performance is capped with 44 'Tavo's'.
I'm not sure what Tavo means in Lithuanian, but according to Nameberry, a baby names meaning website, Tavo translates to "staff of the Goths", which is just really lovely.

1h ago 5:36am I fear this may be the best performance of the night so far, Estonia's entrant Tommy Cash with 'Espresso Macchiato' — which I will be singing for the next year.
I never knew I needed to see someone float above a background of coffee beans until now. Stunning. Gorgeous. No notes.
— Alexandra Koster
1h ago 5:32am Okay, Alice in Wonderland!
Next up is Luxembourg's entrant, Laura Thorn with 'La poupée monte le son'.
There's also a costume change, so we've really just gotten the full Eurovision experience.
— Alexandra Koster
1h ago 5:29am We start off the performances with a hot (get it?) performance from Norway's entrant, Kyle Alessandro with 'Lighter'.
Unsurprisingly, the stage is plastered with pyrotechnics. Flame on!

1h ago 5:25am As the finalists for this year's competition roll onto the stage, I can't help but think of a universe where our boy Go-Jo was up there, sprouting the multiple benefits of drinking his delicious milkshakes.
Go-Jo was eliminated in the second semi-final on Friday morning.

Guy Sebastian announces 100 Times Around The Sun Australian tour to play RAC Arena Perth in May

Guy Sebastian is set to embark on his biggest Australian tour yet in celebration of his new album 100 Times Around The Sun, set for release on Friday. The ARIA Award-winning singer will return to stages across the country for an epic run of all-ages shows in support of his 10th album, which took him over four years to create. The tour will kick off in Newcastle on April 16, before stopping off in Canberra, Brisbane, Townsville, Cairns, Gold Coast, Sydney, Wollongong, Adelaide, Perth, Hobart and Melbourne. He will take to the stage at RAC Arena on May 15. Sebastian, 43, was last performed in Perth in 2021 and described his visit as the 'best show' on his last tour. 'I think it's been my biggest single show on one of my own tours I've ever done in my life,' he said from his beloved studio in Sydney. 'I've done big things like singing for Eurovision and the Pope, but I definitely will never forget the RAC show.' Fans can expect a banging set filled with his biggest hits, like Battle Scars, Before I Go and Choir alongside new tracks from 100 Times Around The Sun. The new album is a soul-filled, heartfelt record brimming with optimism, perspective and signature Sebastian power vocals. To create something he was truly proud of, Sebastian realised he had to step away from his coaching duties on The Voice and hone in on his music career. 'I had a fair bit going on just with life, personally and professionally, it took a bit of time to realise I just couldn't do it all and finish the album,' he said. 'So I kind of put the TV stuff away for a while just to give myself the headspace to be able to get creative and stay in that zone. 'I was pretty fussy, I wanted to make sure it was ready to release and be something I was really proud of. 'I feel like I've given everything I could possibly give to this album, as far as my time and my input, and the musicians that I've gathered.' Sebastian's band features a lot on the album, including singers who sing for Beyonce, Alicia Keys, Ariana Grande, a guitar player from Whitney Houston's band and has played with Jay Z. 'I was in musician heaven,' he said. With his last album, Truth, released in 2020, an emotionally deep project, his new one is more upbeat. 'I think on this album, I really honestly just wanted it to reflect joy, like I wanted it just to come back to a place of like, feel good, soul and makes me want to love people more, and makes me want to enjoy life more,' he said. 'It's about my inner circle (of family and friends), that community that has become increasingly important in my life and stopping the pursuit of trying to please everybody. Sebastian is one of Australia's most loved live performers and with more than 1.3 billion global streams, seven ARIA Awards, 82 ARIA Platimun accreditations and six number one singles under his belt. Pre-sale tickets for the tour will be available on Monday at 1pm and through Telstra on Tuesday at 1pm. General public tickets will go on sale from 12pm on Friday.

Kelly Osbourne fumed over sick Ozzy death hoax days before his passing

Black Sabbath rocker Ozzy Osbourne was the victim of a cruel death hoax that circulated online just days before his actual death at the age of 76. Osbourne's daughter Kelly issued an emotional public statement on July 13 after seeing what she reported as a fake AI video, showing her father claiming he was 'going to die.' 'It has a voice like my dad's David Attenborough or something. And it starts out saying, 'I don't need a doctor to tell me that I'm going to die. I know I'm going to die,'' Kelly said via her Instagram Stories earlier this month. 'What the f**k is wrong with you people?' Kelly asked. 'Why would you spend your time making a video like this?' Osbourne, 40, insisted that her father was 'not dying,' adding, 'Yes, he has Parkinson's, and yes, his mobility is completely different than it used to be, but he's not dying.' 'What is wrong with you?' At the same time, Kelly also refuted a statement her mother Sharon had previously made publicly, claiming that she and her husband had made a 'suicide pact' to pass away together if their health issues became too much. 'That was bulls**t my mum said to get attention one time,' Kelly insisted. Sharon had made the comments on the family's The Osbournes Podcast in October 2022, claiming she and her husband had made plans to travel to Switzerland and die together using the services of Dignitas, a physician-assisted end-of-life organisation. '[We] have drawn up plans to go to the assisted suicide flat in Switzerland if we ever have an illness that affects our brains,' she said at the time. 'If Ozzy or I ever got Alzheimer's, that's it — we'd be off.' Osbourne's death comes barely a fortnight after he played what had been billed as his 'final show' with his Black Sabbath bandmates back on July 5. In a statement issued today, the Osbourne family said he died 'surrounded by love'. 'It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning,' the statement read. 'He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time.' It was signed: 'Sharon, Jack, Kelly, Aimee and Louis.' Black Sabbath also paid tribute to their late lead singer on Instagram after the news broke, writing alongside an image of him onstage: 'Ozzy Forever.' Ozzy's daughter Kelly was involved in one sweet moment at his final show: She got engaged to her boyfriend Sid Wilson backstage as her father watched on. In footage that quickly went viral, Wilson got down on one knee to pop the question to a visibly shocked Kelly, as Ozzy watched from a seat next to the couple.
