Mudau and Shalulile on their way out of Chloorkop? Sundowns coach responds
The trio were absent during the team's 4-0 win over Richards Bay FC in the MTN8 quarter-final on Sunday at the Lucas Moripe Stadium in Atteridgeville.
While Ribeiro trained with the squad last week, there has been speculations over Mudau and Shalilule's futures at the club. The latter is linked with a high-profile move to Esperance
'All those things are being sorted out by the club and I'm sure they will be public in proper time,' Cardoso said on Sunday.
'I understand what's happening with Lucas, Peter, or Thapelo Morena, who was not here today [Sunday] because he had a small injury. But as a coach, I would want to have the team as complete as possible, and all coaches want to receive reinforcements for the new season as quickly as possible.
'So it's not where we are, but it doesn't mean we can't cope with our responsibilities. As a coach, I have to work on solutions rather than problems.
'It's obvious that we would have loved to start the season where we ended with all the players, but no one should think that Mamelodi Sundowns will be at a level that it shouldn't be in. I'm sure the people in charge will take responsibility to organise the issues in a proper time,' Cardoso added.
Mudau is yet to agree on a new deal with Masandawana while Shalulile is looking for an exit after limited gametime last season under Cardoso.

Ouaddou puts faith in Appollis as Orlando Pirates' new era begins
Oswin Appollis dazzled on debut for Pirates in the MTN8 quarter-finals – and coach Ouaddou believes there is far more to come from the talented winger. Photo: Backpageix Image: Backpagepix Orlando Pirates' new head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou plans to develop Oswin Appollis into a standout player as he embarks on his coaching journey with the Buccaneers. The 23-year-old winger made a sensational debut last Saturday, shining brightly during the team's 1-0 victory over Polokwane City in the MTN8 quarter-finals, signalling his potential to become a pivotal figure for the club this season. Despite Appollis' exhilarating performance, which showcased his ability to influence the game, Ouaddou remains grounded in his expectations and objectives for the promising player. 'We need to discipline him,' he stated firmly. Having previously faced Appollis during his time at Marumo Gallants, Ouaddou appreciates the youngster's attributes but stresses the importance of shaping his developmental path. Now at the helm of Pirates, he aims to implement a clear tactical framework to elevate Appollis' skill set. 'I know his qualities, and I will not change him,' Ouaddou explained. 'However, I want to bring him to the highest level as both a former professional and a coach. We need to expose him to some tactical workshops.' Video Player is loading. During the match against Polokwane City, Ouaddou opted to substitute Appollis after 60 minutes to prevent overexertion, a move which reflected the coach's strategic planning for a player still finding his feet at the club. 'He can come between the lines, make runs from deep, and change sides,' Ouaddou elaborated. 'I want a dynamic player, not someone who stands on one side and waits for the ball.' The early signs are promising for Appollis, who has been lauded as a quality signing. If he continues to display the form that wowed fans in the MTN8, he stands a good chance of becoming the Buccaneers' standout performer this season – potentially even earning a call-up to the national squad ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations finals. The excitement surrounding his career trajectory adds to the anticipation among fans eager to see how Ouaddou's guidance will shape the team. Supporters have rallied behind the coach, inspired by his vision and approach – the embodiment of a revitalised Pirates. Enthusiastic crowds have flocked to matches, boosting team morale and creating an electric atmosphere that has sparked a renewed passion for the game. Players previously constrained by inconsistency have shown newfound resilience and drive, buoyed by Ouaddou's progress-oriented methods. Pirates' faithful can rest assured that this chapter under coach Ouaddou may well be the rebirth they have long awaited, as they rally together to cheer on their team and aspire for greatness once again.

Tinkler's Babina Noko and Badela's Chilli Boys plot new paths in Premiership
Babina Noko fans will hope Eric Tinkler can guide Sekhukhune United to a Top 3 finish after last term's promise. Photo: Backpagepix Image: Backpagepix As the new Betway Premiership season kicks off, Sekhukhune United and Chippa United find themselves on very different trajectories. Babina Noko, under the seasoned guidance of Eric Tinkler, are looking to push into the league's upper tier, while Chippa United, once again rebuilding, hope for overdue stability under new coach Sinethemba Badela. Both clubs face challenges — but with contrasting ambitions. 🔴⚫ Sekhukhune United Tinkler's troops target top-tier breakthrough Club owner: Simon Malatji Head Coach: Eric Tinkler Highest ever finish: Fourth in the Premiership Competitions participating in: Betway Premiership, Nedbank Cup, MTN8, Carling Knockout CupSilverware chances: Slim chances in domestic cup competitions, probably not in the running for Premiership honours Bradley Grobler of Sekhukhune United won Player of the Match after their MTN8 quaterfinal match against TS Galaxy this past weekend. Photo: BackpagePix Image: Backpagepix In the heart of Limpopo, Sekhukhune United, affectionately known as Babina Noko, host their home games at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane, a venue that continues to grow in stature. Founded in 2019 as African All-Stars, Sekhukhune's rise has been swift. In September 2020, they acquired GladAfrica Championship status from Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila, launching their professional journey. They wasted little time, earning promotion by winning the second-tier title in 2020/21. Now regulars in the top flight, Sekhukhune have set their sights higher. Since Eric Tinkler's appointment midway through last season, the team has embraced a more ambitious approach. The former Bafana Bafana midfielder brings a wealth of coaching experience and a track record of delivering results. This pre-season, Babina Noko made strategic additions to strengthen key areas in a bid to break into the Premiership's top three. The club's leadership believes the foundations are now in place to challenge the division's elite. Versatile defender Katlego Mohamme will be key to Sekhukhune's ambitions this season, bringing balance and composure to the back line. The club has become synonymous with mid-table finishes and managerial instability, yet continues to survive in the top flight. Head coach Sinethemba Badela has been tasked with lifting the club beyond last season's 11th-place finish. He takes over from Thabo September, whose short stint ended without renewal. Badela is joined by assistant Musa Nyatama, formerly in charge at Moroka Swallows. Together, they will try to break the cycle that has held Chippa back since their last top-eight finish in 2015/16. However, their task is complicated by off-season departures, including Sinoxolo Kwayiba and striker Bienvenu Eva Nga. Rebuilding a competitive squad remains a top priority. The Chilli Boys are known for taking swift action when results go south. That approach has helped them maintain their Premiership status, but also contributes to a climate of pressure for any incoming coach. Badela and Nyatama will need early results to buy time—and breathing room. There is still promise in the squad, with a few key players capable of lifting the team when in form. Much will depend on whether the new coaches can instil a consistent identity and get their signings to gel. Creative midfielder Azola Matrose will be central to Chippa United's attacking hopes as they look to climb the Premiership table. Photo: Backpagepix Image: Backpagepix
