PHOTO: SPRINGWATER FIRE DEPARTMENT Springwater firefighters were called to a large wheat field fire Monday afternoon. Firefighters arrived on scene at Flos Road 6 at Crossland Road near Elmvale to find roughly 10 acres of wheat on fire. 'Firefighters worked alongside farmers to contain the fire and extinguish it,' said Springwater's Deputy Fire Chief Jeff French. The fire was brought under control within half-an-hour, he said. 'The cause of the fire is believed to have started from vehicle exhaust,' French said.
