‘Fortnite' Reveals Battle Pass Skins For Season 3's ‘Star Wars: Galactic Battle'

It seemed like Fortnite was running a bit low on major Star Wars characters to put in the game, given that they have most of the staples at this point, but this is not stopping them from doing a full-on Star Wars season for Chapter 6 Season 3.
After a fair amount of leaks, we have our first official look at the five battle pass skins that will be a part of season 3, and of course there will be more to follow in the shop. We have:
And then Fortnite/Star Wars crossover skins with an OC Jedi variant and a Chewie 'team leader' type skin that may in fact be the ugliest thing I've ever seen. Or close to it. We know there will be Jar Jar Binks (including Darth Jar Jar), customizable Mandalorian armor, Mace Windu and I believe Captain Phasma.
The Galactic Battle scene, which has been previewed with the arrival of the Death Star, will also feature X-Wings and TIE Fighters as vehicles. There will be a Mos Eisley landmark on the map and Sand Crawlers filled with loot. There are some theories Fortnite may finally get customizable lightsaber pickaxes, but that is not confirmed.

As I said, they're really getting into some of the side characters now, though hell yes, I definitely want to play as General Grievous and Darth Jar Jar Binks. I am at least a touch surprised they did not line up this Star Wars season with a Cassian Andor skin, given that the show is currently airing, but I suppose it's far less mainstream than all these other movie-based skins. The shows it has touched on have been the likes of The Mandalorian and Ahsoka.
Fortnite Chapter 6 season 3 should begin about a week from now, May 2 or 3 I believe, hence the spooling up of all these previews, including which of the promised skins will be in the battle pass, and which are heading to the shop instead. These full crossover seasons tend to be pretty big, and Fortnite has already done this once with Disney with its full Marvel season, and about 60 other Marvel skins as we've seen over the years.
Is this the last batch of Star Wars skins if we've gotten all the way to Jar Jar Binks? I have no idea. Did they ever do a Qui-Gon skin? At this point we're probably heading to Admiral Ackbar and Greedo.

What the Tech: Fathers Day gift ideas vinyl

Even the most tech-savvy dads agree, sometimes old-school is just cooler. And for dads who love music, nothing says nostalgia quite like spinning a vinyl record. This Father's Day, if you're looking for a meaningful and memorable gift, vinyl might be the perfect choice. From entry-level turntables to vintage sound systems and classic albums, here's a guide to help you hit the right note. If Dad doesn't already have one, a turntable is the place to start. You can find solid options for around $100 at stores like Walmart or Target. Many of today's turntables come with modern features like Bluetooth connectivity, so he can play records and wirelessly stream the sound to any speaker in the house. Want to step it up a notch? Mid-range models from brands like House of Marley or Audio-Technica offer better sound, sleek designs, and higher-quality components. If you're buying a turntable to connect to a modern stereo or powered speakers, look for one with a built-in preamp. That will save you from needing additional equipment. If Dad is a true audiophile or had a setup back in the day, vintage gear might be the ultimate gift. Refurbished turntables and stereo receivers from the 1970s, including models from Sansui, Pioneer, and Technics, are in high demand because they sound excellent. The only downside is the cost. A full setup with vintage components and speakers can run into the thousands. But for a music lover who appreciates the sound and design of classic equipment, it might be the perfect gift. If Dad already owns a turntable, that makes your job even easier. Vinyl records are widely available. Original pressings from the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s can be found online and in record shops. Most new artists now release their albums on vinyl as well, so whether he is into classic rock, jazz, soul, or modern indie music, there are plenty of options. Check out the website Discogs for tens of thousands of new and used vinyl records. Thanks to the return of vinyl, independent record shops are thriving. Browsing through racks and flipping through bargain bins is part of the fun, and it is a great way to spend time while shopping for something special. If you cannot find what you're looking for locally, online sellers are a great option. The WhatNot app features live record auctions where you can discover hidden gems. A seller called Collect Co streams live every night on Facebook and YouTube and ships directly to your door. The store purchases record collections nationwide and sells them during live streams. Once Dad gets into vinyl again, you will have gift ideas for every occasion. Albums, accessories, storage crates, and cleaning kits all make great add-ons. And if he spends the rest of Father's Day spinning his favorite records and reliving the soundtrack of his youth, you will know you found the perfect gift. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. Shocked parent discovers how Disney World subtly checks kids for lice: ‘That's a creative way to disguise it'

One of parents' worst nightmares is their kid getting lice — but you suspect it in your little ones' head and don't want to do the checking yourself, head over to Disney World where the staff will do the work for you. One Disney parent posted in a now-viral TikTok how those who are staffed by the land of Mickey and Minnie Mouse cleverly go about checking kids' heads for the tiny, wingless insects. The mom captioned her video, 'I didn't even realize what they were doing until I rewatched the video. Literally making every moment magical even while checking for lice at bippity boppity boutique.' In the video, the staffer dressed in character as a fairy Godmother kneels behind an adorable little girl and begins parting her hair to check for any signs of the nasty insects. While doing so, the employee is chatting with the toddler, who is oblivious that her head is being inspected, about Rapunzel's hair. Something that Disney is known for offering to young guests is the ability to get a princess — or knight —makeover, which includes getting hair and makeup done at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique at Magic Kingdom The parent who posted the video isn't the only one pleasantly surprised by this service. 'You know what, I'd rather them check for lice than a surprise after vacation!' one commenter wrote. 'Hopefully no parent takes offense to this because it's not only protecting other children, it's protecting your child from getting it, too,' pointed out someone else. 'That's a sweet and creative way to disguise it,' another person agreed. 'It's not just checking for lice — it's also checking for any rashes, skin issues, cuts/broken skin. Anything that could react to whatever they're putting on ur head. It's for their safety and yours!' a commenter explained. Although Disney didn't confirm the lice checking to be true, one could assume that staff at the amusement park use this opportunity to make sure little guests' heads are clean before transforming them into a Disney princess or knight. Go on vacation, get a free lice check. Which doesn't sound like a bad idea, considering an estimated 6 to 12 million US kids between the ages of 3 and 11 years old get lice every year, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention And if your kid becomes a statistic, olive oil can actually help smother, kill and remove lice eggs from a child's head, according to Northwell Health pediatrician Dr. Lauren Adler Keep in mind that the CDC states that it 'does not have clear scientific evidence' — but if the food product does the trick, more power to it.

Fans greet K-pop stars Jimin and Jung Kook of BTS discharged from military service

YEONCHEON, South Korea -- Hundreds of fans gathered in the early morning hours to catch a glimpse of K-pop superstars Jimin and Jung Kook, the latest and final members of BTS to be discharged from South Korea's mandatory military service. The pair wore their military uniforms Wednesday, saluted and addressed fans who had assembled to see the pair after their discharge. Jung Kook thanked the journalists and fans who traveled to see him and Jimin after their discharge and acknowledged how different it was to be back in the spotlight. 'Actually, it's been so long since I've been in front of cameras, and I didn't even put on makeup, so I'm a bit embarrassed,' he said. 'I don't know what to say.' The pair enlisted in December 2023, one day after RM and V did the same. The latter were discharged on Tuesday. Supporters traveled from around the world to the public sports ground where the meet-and-greet took place. It was moved from the military base's gate for safety reasons. Color-wrapped buses bearing BTS members' faces lined the streets while red and yellow balloons floated above and a decorated food truck provided free coffee and water, adding to the festive atmosphere. Many supporters wore masks, conscious of potential backlash after the band's label discouraged attendance citing safety concerns. Despite the challenges, fans like Anaesi from Portugal said the 20-hour journey to Yeoncheon, a town near the tense border with North Korea, was worth it. 'Portugal is a small country, but inside of Portugal, BTS is a king,' she said. Anaesi, who discovered BTS on YouTube, said the group 'saved' her from depression. 'So for me BTS is my angel,' she said. She displayed a colorful upper arm tattoo featuring a golden shield emblazoned with 'ARMY' and an eagle above it, complemented by Korean text listing BTS members' names and those of her friends. V thanked fans Tuesday for their patience in waiting for him and RM's return and teased the band's reunion. "If you can just wait a little bit longer, we will return with a really amazing performance.' The seven singers of the popular K-pop band plan to reunite as a group sometime in 2025 after they finish their service. Six of the group's seven members served in the army, while Suga is fulfilling his duty as a social service agent, an alternative form of military service. He will be discharged later this month. Jin, the oldest BTS member, was discharged in June 2024. J-Hope was discharged in October. In South Korea, all able-bodied men aged 18 to 28 are required by law to perform 18-21 months of military service under a conscription system meant to deter aggression from rival North Korea. The law gives special exemptions to athletes, classical and traditional musicians, and ballet and other dancers if they have obtained top prizes in certain competitions and are assessed to have enhanced national prestige. K-pop stars and other entertainers aren't subject to such privileges. However, in 2020, BTS postponed their service until age 30 after South Korea's National Assembly revised its Military Service Act, allowing K-pop stars to delay their enlistment until age 30. There was heated public debate in 2022 over whether to offer special exemptions of mandatory military service for BTS members, until the group's management agency announced in October 2022 that all seven members would fulfill their duties.
