Warrenpoint mark Championship return in style while Annagh, Ards and Welders recording opening day victories
Warrenpoint Town marked their return to the Playr-Fit Championship with an impressive 3-1 win over Dundela at Milltown. The Northern Ireland Football League (NIFL) on Thursday confirmed a radical restructuring of the game here which will see the end of the Premier Intermediate League and THREE new Leagues introduced in a FIVE-TIER pyramid system plus the Championship increase from 12 teams to 16 from the 2026/27 season.
