Responding to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi 's claim that this party has an "atom bomb" of evidence to prove poll irregularities, the BJP on Friday took a swipe at him, asking him to "flow like water" instead of considering to "explode like a bomb".The ruling party also slammed Gandhi for using "undemocratic and undignified" language to target the Election Commission."If they will explode a bomb, we will save the Constitution," it said.The response comes after the Congress leader claimed that his party has "open and shut" evidence of alleged poll irregularities by the Election Commission. Likening the proof to an atom bomb, Gandhi said that the poll panel will have no place to hide when it explodes.Replying to reporters' query on the Congress leader's remarks, BJP leader Sambit Patra said, "Will Rahul Gandhi explode like a bomb? What do you think? Their job is to explode. They have no other work to do."He said the Opposition party speaks of such things because they have no faith in democracy."Think what kind of language this is: I (Gandhi) will explode on the Election Commission!" Patra told reporters at the BJP headquarters."You say 'I will go to Supreme Court against the Election Commission' or 'I will protest against it in a democratic manner', but 'exploding like a bomb'? The language (of Gandhi) itself is undemocratic and indignified," Patra said.The BJP leader said the language Gandhi used shows that "these people want to explode like bombs"."We are those who have faith in democracy. If they explode an atom bomb, we will save the Constitution," Patra added.

Kolkata man dies by suicide, family claims NRC fear; no such mention in note
A 59-year-old man died by suicide in Kolkata over an alleged fear of the National Register of Citizens (NRC), sparking a war of words between the Trinamool Congress (TMC) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over the proposed Kumar Saha, a non-teaching staff member at a private school, was found hanging in his room on Sunday by family members who had to force open the door. According to his family, Saha had grown increasingly anxious and depressed in recent days, terrified by the fear of being served an NRC notice and possibly deported to Bangladesh, from where he had migrated in victim had been living in Kolkata with his wife, son, and daughter-in-law for over 30 years. Rape accused engineer moves Supreme Court over Rajasthan HC's ‘erroneous' travel order
A software engineer, accused of raping a woman on a false pretext of marriage, has moved the Supreme Court challenging an order of the Rajasthan High Court which directed his wife to be present in the country if he wished to travel abroad for a job. The plea, filed by advocate Ashwani Dubey, called the HC order erroneous and a violation of Article 21.(HT_PRINT) The petitioner in his plea said the high court, in a clear violation of the "procedural impropriety" and without hearing or impleading his wife, who is currently employed in the US, and ignoring that she is not a part of the criminal case, directed her to remain in India. The petition, filed through advocate Ashwani Dubey, submitted that the said impugned direction passed by the high court was "erroneous" and violative of the fundamental rights under Article 21 of the Constitution. The matter is listed for hearing on August 8. The counsel argued that the direction suffered from procedural irregularity and legal perversity, having been passed without affording a hearing to the person affected. "He will be going for a specific period and he undertakes a specific oath before this Court that he shall make himself available for trial as and when directed, therefore, there is no question of delay in trial and also there is no question of his absconding," the plea said. The engineer was booked for rape at the Christianganj Police Station of Ajmer. It was alleged that the man entered into an intimate relationship with the complainant, promising her that he would marry her. Under apprehension of arrest, the engineer moved an anticipatory bail application, which was allowed. He then moved an application before the trial court to allow him to go abroad to the USA for employment. The trial court dismissed the application, which was assailed before the high court, which allowed him to go abroad but imposed a condition that his wife must remain in India.
