Paul Simon and Sabrina Carpenter shared in an awesome duet to open the SNL 50 anniversary show
Sunday night's 50th anniversary of Saturday Night Live got started on the right note.
Stone-cold legend Paul Simon, a regular SNL musical guest and close friend of showrunner Lorne Michaels, opened the show with a duet of his Simon and Garfunkel song 'Homeward Bound' with pop sensation Sabrina Carpenter.
The two exchanged some quick banter to introduce the show before going right into the iconic song. This was a very cool way to start the anniversary program, and the two artists matched well with each other.
Simon is such an important figure in SNL's history, so it was great to see him and Carpenter kick things off on Sunday in Studio 8H.

Sabrina Carpenter Summer 2.0 Commences With New Single ‘Manchild': Stream It Now
Sabrina Carpenter's new song 'Manchild' is here, kicking off what could very well be another summer of dominance for the pop star. Following the success of hits such as 'Espresso,' 'Please Please Please' and 'Taste' on the charts last year, the pop star returned Thursday night (June 5) with a track that pokes fun at an incapable male partner. Carpenter first teased 'Manchild' a couple of days prior to its release, posting roadside billboards along Interstate 69 that read 'Hey men!' and 'I swear they choose me, I'm not choosing them.' Carpenter revealed that 'Manchild' will be accompanied by a music video dropping Friday at 10 a.m. ET. In a teaser, the musician abruptly falls out of a moving car as it barrels down a dusty road, seemingly pushed out of the vehicle by its male driver. 'STUPID, SLOW, USELESS — BUT THERE'S A CUTER WORD FOR IT, I KNOW,' reads fine print at the bottom of the frame. 'Manchild' marks Carpenter's first new music since '15 Minutes,' 'Couldn't Make It Any Harder,' 'Busy Woman' and 'Bad Reviews' dropped in February as bonus songs on her Short n' Sweet deluxe album. The original LP dropped last August at the high point of a breakthrough summer for the star, spending four weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. Carpenter has since been touring in support of the album, kicking off her Short n' Sweet arena tour in September with a North American leg. This spring, she traveled across Europe on a run of dates that will pick back up with two performances at London's Hyde Park in July. Listen to 'Manchild' below. Sabrina Carpenter to Follow ‘Short n' Sweet' With New Album ‘Man's Best Friend': Here's When It Arrives
Sabrina Carpenter's break between her last album and next LP was short and sweet, with the pop star announcing Wednesday (June 11) that she has another full-length titled Man's Best Friend coming out this summer. Sharing the news on Instagram, Carpenter unveiled the project's sensual cover art — a photo of the Grammy winner down on her knees in black stilettos, held in place by a man gripping a fistful of her hair — and revealed that it will arrive Aug. 29. 'i can't wait for it to be yours x,' she added in her caption. The country-tinged track — co-written and produced alongside Carpenter's Short n' Sweet collaborators Jack Antonoff and Amy Allen — finds the Girl Meets World alum playfully calling out incompetent men. 'Manchild, why you always come a-running to me?/ F–k my life, won't you let an innocent woman be?' she sings on the song. 'Never heard of self-care/ Half your brain just ain't there.' Man's Best Friend comes close on the heels of Carpenter's breakthrough album Short n' Sweet, which dropped last August and propelled the singer to superstar status through Billboard Hot 100 top 10 singles 'Espresso' and 'Taste.' The LP marked her first-ever No. 1 entry on the Billboard 200, where it reigned at the top for four weeks, and spawned her first Hot 100 No. 1, 'Please Please Please.' Nicki Minaj Joins Lil Wayne At No. 1
Lil Wayne and Nicki Minaj's 'Banned from NO' remix hits No. 1 on iTunes ahead of Tha Carter VI's ... More Billboard debut, replacing Sabrina Carpenter's 'Manchild.' ATLANTA, GA - JUNE 17: Nicki Minaj and Lil Wayne perform during surprise appearances duing the Hot 107.9 Birthday Bash at Philips Arena on June 17, 2017 in Atlanta, Georgia. (Photo by) In just a few days, Lil Wayne's new album Tha Carter VI will debut on the Billboard charts. The set dropped on Friday, June 6, and its first full tracking period is about to wrap. The hip-hop superstar didn't push any proper singles from the effort, but one tune has quickly broken out and been identified by fans as the standout cut from the full-length—thanks to an inventive remix that quickly became a bestseller. Wayne recruited his longtime friend Nicki Minaj for a remix of the track 'Banned from NO,' one of the many compositions featured on Tha Carter VI. The track may now become an official single, spurred by what appears to be a strong commercial reception. As of this writing, the 'Banned from NO' remix sits at No. 1 on the iTunes Top Songs chart, making it the bestselling track in America on one of the most important platforms in the music industry. 'Banned from NO' replaces Sabrina Carpenter's 'Manchild' at No. 1 on the iTunes Top Songs tally. The pop singer's latest single had been leading the charge since it arrived several days ago, but it now falls several spaces, making room for tracks by Alex Warren, Chappell Roan and Oliver Anthony Music. 'Banned from NO' will likely appear on various Billboard rankings alongside Tha Carter VI next week. Whether it will be credited to just Wayne or to both Wayne and Minaj remains to be seen. Billboard only gives credit to featured artists on remixes when the updated version becomes the most consumed. If sales and streams of the Minaj-enhanced edition overtake Wayne's original solo cut, then both artists will earn a new win. While the solo edition came first and holds a several-day head start, the addition of Minaj could turn the tune into a major smash for her as well. Another big track from Tha Carter VI is 'Sharks,' a collaboration featuring Jelly Roll and Big Sean. On Friday, when Tha Carter VI was brand new, fans focused their purchasing power on 'Sharks,' sending it toward the top of the iTunes tally. Tha Carter VI is expected to launch atop many of Billboard's hip-hop rankings and will likely open in second place on the Billboard 200, just behind I'm the Problem by Morgan Wallen.
