Bayern Munich's Adam Aznou scheduled for Everton medical this weekend

Yahoo3 days ago
Everton should be able to wrap up a purchase of Bayern Munich fullback Adam Aznou soon. Sport Bild reports that the 19-year-old has indeed lodged a transfer request with his Bundesliga club. Earlier this week, Kicker confirmed that Bayern's previous negotiations with Getafe CF had produced nothing but a busted deal,
Fabrizio Romano now reports that the German and English club have reached full agreement on the transfer. Romano confirms numbers originating in a report from The Athletic earlier today. Bayern shall receive a base-transfer-fee for their young talent. An additional €3m in bonuses have beeb tacked on.
Aznou, per Romano, will undergo his Everton medical this weekend. Aznou was recalled by Bayern Munich early from his recent loan stint with Real Valladolid in order to participate in the recent club World Cup. The teenager nevertheless wasn't able to take advantage of the opportunity accorded to him.
Aznou logged only eight minutes as a substitute in Bayern's opening group stage fixture.

Ofoborh finds new club as he signs for League Two rivals

Former Swindon Town midfielder Nnamdi Ofoborh has joined their League Two rivals Barnet on the eve of their season beginning. Ofoborh spent a little over a season with Swindon, initially signing in March 2024 and playing every game before the end of that campaign and then being a mainstay, especially under Ian Holloway, during 2024/25. The midfielder was one of five out-of-contract players to be offered a new deal back in May, but, along with goalkeeper Jack Bycroft, he waited too long to make a decision, and it was taken off the table. But after a summer in which he was hoping to secure a move to League One and spent time training with Cambridge United, he has become the second player who left Town last summer to secure a new team by joining Barnet. The Bees just won the National League under Dean Brennan, who was a managerial target for Swindon last summer before Mark Kennedy was appointed, and will be hoping to push on again, having made a number of exciting additions, including Romoney Crichlow and Dennis Adeniran. Ofoborh joins the North West London club one day before their season begins in the Carabao Cup preliminary round against Newport County at The Hive. He will also be back at the Nigel Eady County Ground very soon, as Swindon host Barnet on August 19. He told club media on his arrival: 'It has been a long summer and there has been a lot of talk about people going places, and I got the opportunity to speak with the gaffer [Brennan] and I liked what he was saying and the project. 'I knew a few of the boys already, so it was pretty much an easy decision for me.' Read more: Loan move in progress for young Swindon defender Wright's absence from Eastleigh friendly explained Holloway expects Smith to play Championship football with Swindon Holloway said in June that he wanted to keep Ofoborh, but had to move to other targets after he did not give an answer prior to his deadline. He said: 'Some of the ones I wanted to keep did not stay. I gave them opportunities to stay, but they took too long for me, and then I said 'No'. 'I thought I made it clear, I think they are disappointed as they thought they had more time, but I know what I said, and I meant it. 'I am sorry for that, I wish them all the best, but I have had to move on. I want people who want to be here for real, not just because they couldn't find anything else that was slightly better."

Newcastle yet to receive Isak offer

Newcastle have not yet received a bid for their top scorer Alexander Isak, says manager Eddie Howe. The Sweden striker is exploring his options for a potential summer move and has not travelled on the team's pre-season tour of Asia, although Newcastle initially said he has a "minor thigh injury". A source has told BBC Sport that Liverpool are still interested in the 25-year-old, despite signing Hugo Ekitike for an initial £69m. The Magpies had maintained that Isak is not for sale and although Howe admits he is not in "full control" of the player's future, he says that no offer has been submitted yet. "He is still our player. He's contracted to us," Howe said at a news conference in Seoul. "We, to a degree, control what is next for him. I would love to believe all possibilities are still available to us. "My wish is that he stays, but that's not in my full control. We have not received a formal offer for Alex, from any club." Isak joined Newcastle from Real Sociedad in 2022 in a deal worth about £60m and still has three years left on his contract. He has scored 62 goals in 109 appearances for the Magpies, including 27 in all competitions last season.
