Director-cum-actor Sundar C and comedian-actor Vadivelu are all set to leave you rolling on the floor with laughter once again after almost 15 years. The duo, who once shared screen space and won many hearts with their palpable chemistry in the 2010 released Tamil language movie Nagaram Marupakkam, are back with another action comedy film, Gangers. Gangers, starring Sundar C and Vadivelu in lead roles, was initially released in the theatres on April 25, garnering an array of positive reviews. The action comedy also amasses an estimated amount of Rs. 58 lakh at the domestic box office right on its first day, reported Sacnilk. However, a month after its theatrical release, the movie embarked on the journey of a grand OTT release.
Finally, the action-comedy has reached your homes and has been streaming on Amazon Prime Video since today, May 15. Sundar's wife, Khushboo, who has been co-producing the movie under the banner of Avni Cinemas, has been constantly promoting the movie with several posts on her social media handle. A day earlier, she dropped a poster of the movie on her Instagram handle with the caption that read, 'Beat the summer heat with the ultimate #Gangers laugh riot. Coming to the film's plot, Sundar plays the role of an undercover cop posing as a PT master of a school. He embarks on a journey to expose ruthless criminals Malayarasan and Kottaiyarasan, and also uncovers a 100 crore scam by their brother Mudiyarasan. In pursuit of his main goal, Sundar's on-screen character forms a comical gang with the school staff.
Besides him, the film, directed by Sundar C himself, also stars Vadivelu, Catherine Tresa, Vani Bhojan and Bagavathi Perumal in key roles. This movie marks the reunion of the director alongside Vadivelu after they shared screen space in Sundar's first directorial movie titled Nagaram Marupakkam. Additionally, Gangers is the third collaboration between Sundar and Catherine, after Arunachalam and Anve Sivam.
