MAFS star reveals she's turned to fat jabs in desperate bid to lose weight after being bodyshamed on show and by trolls

A MARRIED At First Sight star has revealed she's been subject to "shame" after opting to use fat jabs to lose weight. The E4 favourite, who featured in the Australian version of the matchmaking series, told of her "frustration" at more traditional methods which failed to have an impact on her wellbeing. 6 6 6 The auburn-haired star, 37, found fame on Married At First Sight 's most recent series, where fans were quick to call out her groom Tim Gromie's cruel conduct. MAFS fans watched in horror as school teacher Tim brutally rejected Katie Johnston just minutes after they said I Do - as he insisted she was nothing like what he "would have wanted". Having pulled a producer to the side, he exclaimed: "What the f***?" He continued: "Totally not what I wanted. "It's not good. I normally go just short, blonde. petite. "Katie is like nothing that I would normally go for." After the body-shaming on screen, restaurant CEO Katie told how she was using "scientific help" for her weight loss - because "that's what it's there for." In a piece to camera filmed outside, she told fans: "I have initially started my GLP1 journey with quite a bit of shame wrapped around it. "Because I was frustrated that I couldn't do it myself and I just didn't have the capacity to figure it out on my own. MAFS' Katie breaks down in tears in upsetiting scenes with Tim "And I utilised scientific help and that's what it's there for. "So it's anything, any meds that you use to help you control parts of yourself like for example anti anxieties, I've used anti anxieties for really bad times in my life that I couldn't cope." GLP1 is a natural hormone that helps regulate blood sugar and appetite. It also plays a role in slowing down digestion, and is often a treatment used to help Type 2 Diabetes. The star, whose show groom rudely confessed he wanted to "run away" during the experiment ultimately ended up quitting the series. Mafs couples that have stood the test of time Loved-up Tayah Victoria and Adam Aveling of series six fame had the first Mafs baby. The pair couldn't keep their hands off each other on the programme and quickly found their feet in the outside world, moving into Adam's Doncaster home. Just 18 months after meeting, the couple welcomed their daughter Beau. Season five couple Michelle Walder and Owen Jenkins also managed to make their marriage work away from the cameras and had their first child in December. Teacher Michelle, 29, has no regrets about taking part in the experiment. She told us: 'I just feel very lucky and thankful that it has worked out - and excited for everything to come.' Michelle and Owen were both sick of dating apps when they applied in 2019. Owen recalled: 'I had been out for some drinks with a friend after work. "While he was out for a cigarette I was scrolling on Instagram waiting for him to come back in. 'The MAFS advert was the last thing I saw, and I joked, 'Wouldn't it be funny if I signed up?' 'A few beers later when I was back at home I sent in the application, and the rest is history.' Another couple to make Mafs UK history is Zoe Clifton and Jenna Robinson. Despite a slight rocky start, where they clashed over Jenna's vegan lifestyle, the show's first same sex pairing are still going strong. They even have a successful podcast together called Life With a Pod. Jenna shed light on being involved in the show earlier this year when she told us: "We're not legally married, and I never felt like we were. I definitely feel the process makes you take the relationship a lot more seriously and having the help of the experts… if you can survive that process it sets a firm foundation for a long-lasting relationship." Yet Queensland native Katie has gained a legion of loyal fans since appearing on-air, who appreciate her cheery character and bubbly, positive personality. Though showing how the backlash towards fat jabs had hit a nerve, she said in her long clip: "OK I'm going to go on a little bit of a rant because I'm frustrated and that's what I do when I'm frustrated. "I'm over people being shamed for using GLP1 or any other method of weight loss. "Anything that people do is their choice and it's up to them and only you know your path and what got you into the position you are and the help that you need. "Only you know that. Sorry about my b****y state "But just be kind to yourself. She rounded off with the words: "So please don't let the narrative out there that it's so easy to lose weight and just eat well, just exercise well. "Just be more motivated, have more discipline - go away! Leave us alone. We're figuring it out. "We are giving ourselves breathing space to be able to implement new habits and learn new things and transition our life to a healthier life. "So help us on our journey and cheer us on instead of giving us a hard time, thank you." She captioned the video: "Dear THAT person, go away, we are all on our own path, you do you, " and one fan replied: "You are so right Katie and I love you either way and you will always be my fave girl x" A second put: "Love this message," as a third posted: "Screw them loves you are amazing and you are rocking it." One then added: "You just keep being You XOXO." Another surmised: "Just keep being you and good luck in your next wellbeing journey everyone needs little help now and again be kind to yourself and ignore the negativity of people xx" SHOW STORY Since her show stint which aired in the UK earlier this year, it emerged her groom Tim had been messaging another bride during their honeymoon. During the scenes, fans were convinced the tattooed star who had an extreme reluctance to talk about his own marriage was a producer "plant." Tim told their co-stars at the Dinner Party he felt he was making the most effort in their relationship, having struggled to find a connection with her - despite scenes showing the exact opposite playing out on screen. It left Katie's fellow bride Jamie furious as she defended Katie and branded Tim a 'gaslighter'. 6 6 6

Elle Macpherson, 61, looks decades younger as she makes glamorous appearance at launch of her new book in London

She's the Australian supermodel who rose to fame on the international fashion scene in the 1980s. And now Elle Macpherson is wowing fans as an author. The ageless 61-year-old recently appeared in London as the special guest for a 'super women' breakfast to promote her 2024 memoir, Elle: Life, Lessons & Learning to Trust Yourself. Held at the prestigious Soho Mews House, the Sydney-born fashionista cut an elegant figure in cream slacks and a matching low cut top. Elle looked much younger than her years as she paired the outfit with a stylish overcoat. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. Letting her long tresses fall over her shoulders, Elle accessorised with an elaborate silver necklace. The leggy runway star later shared a gallery of images from the event, in which she could be seen giving a talk about her 'wellness philosophy'. She also included a video of a question and answer session. Meanwhile, Elle recently opened up about using cocaine during her modelling years late last month. The supermodel spoke at length about her addiction and journey to getting sober in her memoir, Elle: Life, Lessons & Learning to Trust Yourself. In one chapter, she revealed she would frequently get black-out drunk and drink 'shots of vodka' after putting her sons Cy and Flynn to bed when they were young. She went on to confess in November on The Kyle and Jackie O Show that she used cocaine in the past for weight loss. Radio host Kyle Sandilands told her: 'I made the mistake, and I'm happy to admit it, that I thought I'd lose weight by having cocaine for ten years. 'Now, did I lose the weight? No, I didn't. I got the bloat.' In response, Elle admitted: 'I've done that!' In her memoir, Elle - who was dubbed 'The Body' at the peak of her fame - detailed the depths of her addiction before giving up alcohol and getting sober in 2003. She shared her habit of drinking shots at night while with her now ex Arpad 'Arki' Busson—the father of her children. 'My life looked amazing to everybody. On the outside I was doing a beautiful job but, deep down inside, I was really struggling,' she wrote in her book. She also explained why she controversially turned to holistic healing methods rather than chemotherapy after getting diagnosed with breast cancer in 2017. 'It wasn't like there was a one size fits all golden bullet... that you could just take and say, "Okay, this is going to guarantee upper wellness at the end of it,"' she said. 'Sometimes it's a combination; it's not either-or, maybe it's a combination of things.'

William 'scolded' at huge royal event by unimpressed Queen's telling off

During the Trooping the Colour celebrations in 2016, Prince William was told off by the Queen for a break in royal etiquette on the Buckingham Palace balcony Trooping the Colour is just around the corner, with Buckingham Palace and the R oyal Family preparing to celebrate the King's official birthday. During the event, which is a landmark event in the royal calendar, the family join together on the famous Buckingham Palace balcony to marvel in the Royal Air Force flypast. While this part of the day's celebration is often the most memorable, it is not always smooth sailing for the royals. Several years ago, back in 2016, one member of the royal family was 'scolded' by the late Queenfor an unexpected reason. Prince William seemed to irk his late grandmother while standing on the balcony during the flypast, earning him a stern word from the monarch. ‌ ‌ As Princess Charlotte, who was making her Trooping the Colour debut just after her first birthday, was being held by Kate, young Prince George was being looked after by William. Standing at the front of the balcony, George - who was just three years old at the time - peered over the ledge to wave to the thousands of people gathered around the Palace. As William crouched down to speak to his young son and explain the flypast, he was temporarily out of sight from the huge crowd of onlookers. The Queen was clearly unimpressed that the crowds would not have been able to see him, Her Majesty appeared to berate her grandson by saying: "stand up William. Don't crouch." Of course, the prince did as he was told and rose immediately, looking rather sheepish. The telling off during the fly past was not the first occasion the monarch has put her foot down with her grandson, as William explained in a Sky News documentary to mark the Queen's 90th birthday in 2016. At the time, the Prince of Wales spoke candidly about an incident in his childhood that landed him in hot water with his grandmother, as he and his cousin Peter Philips were caught misbehaving while riding a quad bike at Balmoral. ‌ He said: 'We were chasing Zara around who was on a go-kart, and Peter and I managed to herd Zara into a lamppost and the lamppost came down and nearly squashed her.' 'I remember my grandmother being the first person out at Balmoral running across the lawn in her kilt. She came charging over and gave us the most almighty b******ing, and that sort of stuck in my mind from that moment on.' As heir to the throne, William made his Trooping the Colour balcony debut before his first birthday in 1984. In 2011, newly married William took part in his first Trooping the Colour parade and rode on horseback, which he is expected to do again this year. ‌ The Trooping the Colour event, which takes place every year in June, has been held to mark the sovereign's official birthday since the accession of King George IV in 1820, except during the world wars and a national strike in 1955. In 2020, a scaled-back version of the celebration was held at Windsor Castle due to the Covid pandemic. Trooping the Colour 2025, officially known as The King's Birthday Parade, will take place on Saturday June 14, in London.
