Her mum, Anna, has now revealed more grim details about the state Maria was found in.
She says Maria's "
hair
was shorn with a knife" before the young model was scalped.
Speaking on Ukrainian TV show Hovoryt vsia kraina, Anna said: "My impression is that it was just done like this, with a knife, and right across the face.
"It looked as if it was done with a knife from the centre of the head all the way down to the eye, and the
hair
was cut off.

"Why the hair was cut is unclear, because it wasn't done at the hospital, the nurses told me that and confirmed it.
'They wouldn't have been able to lift it like that in hospital, because there was a massive wound on the head.'
OnlyFans model Juli Luxie, 21, found dead at home in France after family didn't hear from her for two weeks
An emotional Anna added: "If you saw the stitches on the head, how the scalp [had to be] sewn back on."
Maria has had to go through nine serious operations since being found.

Three on each leg, two on her spine and a final surgery to fix her snapped shoulder blade, according to Anna.
One of Maria's legs is in such a bad state despite the operations that Anna says it is likely she'll never have any feeling there.
Despite her sickening injuries, the family are yet to get any answers around what really happened out in Dubai.
Maria alleged that all the CCTV recordings that could have shown parts of the horror ordeal have been erased to remove any evidence.

She also claimed her medical
bills
for the operations were all unusually covered by Dubai police.
It was initially believed that Maria had been kidnapped into a sex trafficking ring linked to the notorious 'Porta Potty' scene in the UAE.

These are disturbing events which are known to involve high-paying clients who degrade women, often influencers, for large sums of cash.
But an insider close to Maria has now blamed her injuries on Russia.
They claimed: "It was the Russians who tortured Maria."

According to Maria and her friends, she had missed her flight home to Thailand while staying at the
luxury
Five Jumeirah Village hotel in Dubai.
She was offered a place to stay by a 19-year-old man she had recently met at a karaoke barr before being invited to a hotel room.
She was then allegedly abused for several hours.
Police have already questioned a teen who is the son of a prominent Russian businessman and fits the suspected profile.

Artyom Papazov, 19, admitted he was at a three day party with Maria but denies having any knowledge of the alleged abuse.
Aleksandra Mertsalova, 19, daughter of a Moscow businessman, was also quizzed over the incident.
Both were released without charge.
Dubai police have also examined a theory that suggests Maria may have jumped from an eight-floor ledge from a nearby construction site.

A neurosurgeon who examined the model's injuries has categorically said her wounds were not consistent with such a fall.
They are more likely to have been caused by Maria being beaten and hit by a car, he added.
Anna has now also claimed she has been threatened online for speaking out about the case.
She said: 'I got a disappearing message on my phone. It read: 'We'll find you even in Norway'.'

What are Porta Potty parties?
PORTA potty parties are events, usually in the United Arab Emirates, where women are paid large amounts of money to sexually gratify wealthy men - in often highly degrading ways.
It's thought that the women are sometimes duped into participating on false pretences - such as the promise of a modelling contract.
At the events, men exploit the opportunity to commit depraved acts on the women.
The name supposedly comes from the fact that the deeply disturbing acts can include men treating women as human toilets.
Women, often from ex-Soviet countries, are lured in by the promise of a glamorous lifestyle and highly paid careers in the oil-rich states.
An expert
Recruiters often target attractive women with online presences, or even TV stars.
Radha Stirling, founder and CEO of Detained in Dubai, told The Sun: "It's exploitation disguised as glamour or opportunity. Women, in particular, are offered all sorts of opportunities in Dubai.
"They might be offered to come and model, to come and play music, or to expand their career in some way or another.
"But what they don't realise is that when they get there, they are essentially at the beck and call of whoever has brought them there.
"They're under their complete control, and they put themselves in such a risky position where they could end up gang raped, they could end up drugged, they could end up dead."

Gregg Wallace gushes over ‘beautiful' wife on romantic anniversary picnic as MasterChef makes controversial return
GREGG Wallace called himself a "very lucky man" as he celebrated his ninth wedding anniversary today with "beautiful" wife Anna. The axed MasterChef star, 60, returned to Hever Castle, Kent, with Anne-Marie, 38, for a romantic picnic on the same day the latest series of the BBC cooking show controversially returned to screens featuring both of its fired hosts. 4 Gregg Wallace celebrated his wedding anniversary today with wife Anne-Marie Credit: Instagram 4 They enjoyed a picnic at Hever Castle Credit: Instagram Series 21 was filmed before a report into Wallace's behaviour upheld 45 historical allegations of misconduct over a 17 year period. As part of the investigation Wallace's co-star John Torode was alleged to have used a racist term, though he maintains he did not. Today, Wallace, who is now marketing himself as a personal trainer, was all smiles as he filmed himself and Anna by the side of a lake. He said: "Hello, it's our wedding anniversary. How many years, Anna?" She replied: "Nine." The couple then giggled as they struggled to recall if they'd been together for 12 or 13 years. Wallace continued: "The theme is willow, so we've got a picnic basket and we're at Hever Castle because it's here we got married. "Look at this scene for a picnic. Beautiful setting, beautiful wife. I'm a very lucky man." One follower commented: "Happy faces for a happy anniversary - I bet it was a lovely picnic too." Another said: "Lovely location for a wedding anniversary picnic." Shamed Gregg Wallace says 'I'm no groper, sex pest or flasher,' as tearful star refuses to accept blame for BBC sacking A third posted: "Lovely location for a wedding anniversary picnic." Those who tuned into MasterChef today on BBC iPlayer noticed the show had been edited to minimise the amount of banter between hosts Torode and Wallace. As the six amateur cooks made their first dishes for the pair, viewers noted how their usual breezy interactions were virtually non-existent. Prior to the show airing, contestant Sarah Shafi, from Leeds, revealed how she was allegedly offered the opportunity to be edited out of the series after claiming it shouldn't be broadcast. Ms Shafi, 57, told the Guardian: 'I didn't say edit me out. 'I said: 'Axe the show, don't air the show. I'm asking you not to air the show.' Prominent figures have been abusing their power. "What message does that send out to women?" MasterChef facts MASTERCHEF has been a staple BBC series for years - but what are the key details? MasterChef launched on BBC One back in 1990 It ran until 2001, then was revived in 2005 as MasterChef Goes Large John Torode joined the revamped series in 2005, where he teamed up with Gregg Wallace as hosts Controversial moments? In March 2018, Gregg refused to judge Zaleha Kadir Olpin's stewed chicken rendang dish as he claimed it was 'not crispy enough and could not be eaten.' Ms Sharif alleged there was an "enabling environment" and a pattern of "institutions not being accountable". She also claimed there was a "heated conversation" when she tried to voice her opinions with a producer. Once the corporation confirmed the season was going ahead, Ms Sharif agreed to be edited out. The Sun contacted a representative for MasterChef for comment. 4 MasterChef returned today with Gregg Wallace and John Torode 4 Six new amateur chefs entered the MasterChef kitchen on tonight's episode Credit: BBC THE AXE FALLS Wallace was the first of the two hosts to be sacked back on July 10, with the BBC citing that they doubted his ability to change 'learned behaviour' as a reason for his axing. The report concluded that Gregg, who was diagnosed as autistic midway through the investigation, "struggled to distinguish the boundaries between appropriate and inappropriate behaviour in the workplace.' The findings also referenced reputational damage to the Corporation in light of comments Wallace has made about it since he was taken off air. Wallace has hosted MasterChef alongside Torode since 2005 and has also fronted other BBC programmes including Inside the Factory and Supermarket Secrets. In late 2024, it was reported that the BBC had been made aware of complaints dating back to 2017, while it was claimed that a letter had been sent to the broadcaster in 2022 stating that women had been made to feel 'uncomfortable' in his presence. However, he has been cleared of the most serious allegations, including those made by high profile names including Kirsty Wark and Penny Lancaster. GREGG BACKS CO-STAR In an explosive sit down interview with The Sun, Wallace said that he was not a 'groper, a sex pest or a flasher'. He also backed Torode, insisting: 'He is not a racist.'

Freakier Friday's twice the fun and a ball of confusion
I have to admit that I've never seen the original Freaky Friday. But after viewing this sequel, I wonder could it possibly be any better? Freakier Friday is great fun and will leave all but the truly cynical with a smile on their face. Lindsay Lohan was a teenager first time around, but time has marched on and now her character, Anna Coleman, is herself a mother/lone parent of a teenager, Harper, played by Julia Butters. Returning co-star Jamie Lee Curtis once again plays Anna's mother, Tess, who swapped bodies with her daughter in the original movie. Of course, this time around she's also grandmother to Harper. All three generations of girls get on, until their relationship comes under stress when Anna falls for Eric (Manny Jacinto), the father of Harper's new British classmate Lily (Sophia Hammons), and they decide to get hitched. Problem is, Harper and Lily cannot stand each other. But that's the driving force that brings them together in a bid to stop the wedding from going ahead. So far, so ho-hum. But what starts as a bog-standard teen tale takes a turn for the hilarious when the two girls wake up to find they've switched bodies with Harper's mother and granny. That means Anna now resides in Harper's head and - much to her horror - Lily has swapped bodies with Tess, who's now the oldest teenager in town. You can pretty much predict what happens next, as the two teens cause havoc in the adult world, while Anna and Tess try to come to terms with being teenagers again. Given that they've been here before (and are both pretty good at this acting business), Lohan and a particularly lively Curtis throw themselves ito their new roles, but the up-and-coming Julia Butlers and Sophia Hammons are just as impressive with their alter egos. It gets confusinmg every now and then, which only makes it funnier. No one gets badly hurt and it all works out in the end - but that's not the point. It really is all about the intergenerational journey here, and the many laughs along the way. Like teenagers, parents and grandparents, Freakier Friday is to be enjoyed rather than judged.

Freakier Friday review: Mean girls Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan run riot, but body-swap sequel lacks magic
Take 2003, for example, when a body-swap family comedy called Freaky Friday did the rounds and this reviewer was seemingly oblivious. It starred Jamie Lee Curtis and pre-meltdown Lindsay Lohan. It took $160m at the box office, and was part of a franchise based on Mary Rodgers's 1972 novel that numbered a raft of variously received films, musicals and TV specials. Bolstered by the advent of Disney+, the 2003 film has discovered a new audience, and since we're in the age where any movie can be exhumed to have a few more dollars shaken out of it, a sequel was put in motion, reuniting the original star duo. (Lohan is said to have got the call in the autumn of 2022 while filming the notorious Irish Wish on these shores.) Nisha Ganatra's film – written by Jordan Weiss – assumes a level of familiarity with events 22 years ago. We're given a multi-generational family that is light on menfolk. When not working as a manager to a popstar, Anna (Lohan) battles with 15-year-old daughter Harper (Julia Butters) as mothers and their daughters tend to. Looking on and ever-ready with a self-help mantra is psychologist grandmother Tess (Curtis), who is trying to break into the podcast therapy game. Harper's life of sun-kissed surfing before high-school classes has one sizeable fly in the ointment. Anna has embarked on a relationship with a handsome restaurateur from UK-land, Eric (Manny Jacinto). This would be fine except that Eric's daughter is the insufferable Lily (Sophia Hammons), an aspiring fashion designer who longs for London and is Harper's arch-nemesis in the school corridor. Some unnameable hocus-pocus is inserted into the story Worse still, Anna and Eric soon become an item and wedding bells loom on the horizon. The only thing the two teenagers can agree on is that this simply won't do. While the adults in the room hope and believe that the bickering will stop in time, the two brats aren't having any of it. Now comes Freakier Friday's narrative hinge, the shazam moment that gives the whole thing its plot device. Some unnameable hocus-pocus is inserted into the story at this point to enact the body-swapping spell, thereby throwing up all kinds of muddles, mishaps and realisations. Bargain-price mystic Madame Jen (good work by Vanessa Bayer) ambushes the ladies at a party and quickly drags Anna and Tess, and then Harper and Lily, into a palm-reading session. A supernatural force invades the tabletop, placing a curse on the four women. (If you think that's lame, it was a magical fortune cookie in Mark Waters's 2003 instalment). When they wake up, everything is wrongways. Tess is Lily and vice versa. Anna and Harper have also traded bodies. Who is who takes a while to bed in with the viewer. Everyone keeps their accents, so we only have behaviour to go by. Are the characters well established enough in the opening act that they beam unmistakably through a different actor? Is said actor able to channel them? Freaky Friday had a simpler task, you quickly appreciate – a straight swap between Anna and Tess, so that each character experienced life in the other's shoes. This time, things are indeed freakier, and the four-way jumble we're asked to get on board with is initially a tough ask. What just about manages to rescue things is the indomitable Curtis, for whom nothing seems too far a task. So as Lily and Harper (now Curtis and Lohan, remember) get over the horror of being stuck in 'decaying' bodies, they decide to use the newfound guises to sabotage the upcoming nuptials. Makeovers occur inevitably, as do frightening realisations about the ageing process, with Curtis mugging and blundering superbly. Anna and Tess, meanwhile, milk their newfound youthfulness, horsing down junk food and getting into trouble at school. All this is perfectly fine tomfoolery that harks back to a different, more innocent era in Hollywood family entertainment (think Tom Hanks in Big, or another Lohan outing, The Parent Trap). Things are funniest when squirts of lemon juice cut through the sugary glitter and the mean girls are let run riot (a school-yard food fight in the opening act is a prime example). Is there enough to ensure a place in the memory 22 years hence? Not this one, anyway. 3 stars
