Recently, the Philadelphia Eagles suffered one of their most notable injury setbacks of the offseason. Landon Dickerson, the starting offensive lineman, went down with a knee injury.
As the Eagles participated in an open practice last week, Dickerson went down for a bit, which silenced the excited crowd. While Dickerson was able to get up and walk off the field, he couldn't do it without assistance.
After making his way back to the sideline, Dickerson was carted back to the locker room. The sight of the cart made it seem as if the injury was potentially season-ending. However, there is a lot of optimism coming from the Eagles' organization regarding Dickerson's recent ailment.
The Latest on Dickerson
On Wednesday, it was revealed that Dickerson underwent surgery.

Knee surgeries typically take players out of the mix for months—if not the entire season—but in Dickerson's case, he seemingly had a minor procedure done.
The Eagles have yet to reveal an official diagnosis outside of a "meniscus injury."

Many reports have suggested the Eagles are optimistic Dickerson could potentially be ready for the first week of the season against the Dallas Cowboys. They have roughly three weeks to figure it out.

His injury concerns in college were a question mark while entering the pros, but he's managed to stay healthy enough to become one of the Eagles' top players on the offensive end of the ball.

Dickerson became a full-time starter for the Eagles rather quickly. In 2022, he notched his first Pro Bowl honor, thriving with the Eagles' NFC Championship-winning team. Since that season, Dickerson has been a Pro Bowl regular, earning two more nods. He was a starting blocker on the Eagles' Super Bowl LIX squad.
The Eagles are going to rush Dickerson back in the mix, as long-term health will be a priority for the 26-year-old. Still, there's hope he could be back a lot earlier than initially expected.

Eagles vs. Browns: Takeaways from 1st half as Philadelphia holds a 13-12 lead

The defending Super Bowl champions have returned to Lincoln Financial Field for the second week in a row against an AFC North opponent. This time, the retooled Cleveland Browns are the opponent after two days of joint practice sessions. Philadelphia sat the bulk of their starters, but had every player involved in the cornerback competition dressed, and vying for a key role. It was an exciting first half that saw rookie safety Andrew Makuba on the receiving end of two turnovers, while a second-year wide receiver continues to flash. We're looking at takeaways and observations from the first half as the Eagles hold a 13-9 lead over the Browns. Dillon Gabriel With Shedeur Sanders out, the third-round pick got his opportunity to perform in a meaningful game, and the former Oklahoma and Oregon star quarterback didn't disappoint. Gabriel had an ugly interception returned 75 yards for a touchdown, but was otherwise solid. Gabriel finished the first half 13-18 passing, for 143 yards passing (7.9 avg) 0 touchdowns, and one interception with a 72.2 rating and two sacks. Eagles QBs Dorian Thompson-Robinson got the start, but it was rookie Kyle McCord who tossed his first career touchdown pass. McCord is 2-2 passing for 15 yards and the score. Thompson-Robinson was 3-4 passing for eight yards and one sack. Ainias Smith Smith's roster spot isn't guaranteed, and the 2024 late-round pick has a score in back-to-back games. Eagles defense Azeez Ojulari has started to heat up and logged a first-half sack while being a disruptor. Overall, the Eagles' defense allowed 11 first downs, 194 yards, and 6-8 on third downs. Jeremiah Trotter Jr. had five first-half tackles. Eagles CB competition Kelee Ringo and Adoree' Jackson got the start, while Jakorian Bennett saw his first action as an Eagle before suffering an injury. Gabriel was efficient, and Jamari Thrash had four catches for 43 yards in the first half. Jihaad Campbell The rookie had three first-half tackles and his first career sack on Dillon Gabriel. Eagles offensive line Even with Myles Garrett out, Cleveland has a dominant defensive line, and the difference in talent was significant with the Eagles' stars all sitting out. WATCH: Texans' Mario Edwards Jr. records first sack of 2025 preseason

A new season, the same results from the Houston Texans' front seven. Is it just a preseason play? Yes. Does that matter to the H-Town faithful? Not even a little. Mario Edwards Jr. recorded the first sack of the Texans' preseason against Carolina Panthers starter Bryce Young in the first quarter. Pressure from Will Anderson off the edge forced the former No. 1 overall pick to move inside, where Edwards wasted little time to make the play. Here's a look at the highlight below. Houston's defensive line should once again be the team's strength, headlined by Pro Bowl defensive ends Will Anderson Jr. and Danielle Hunter. Last season, the Texans broke their franchise record with 46 sacks. They hope to hit over 60 this fall.
