Llanelli wait on Tier 1 Licence decision for promotion green light
"We're waiting for Tuesday and the Tier 1 licence outcome."The licence is broken down into several categories, so you've got the financial aspect, legal, structure of the club and how the club is run."It's quite complex but I'm happy we've submitted it and we'll see the outcome on Tuesday."Llanelli won the Welsh Premier title in 2008 and were runners-up on three occasions.Should Llanelli be granted a Tier 1 Licence they will return to Welsh football's top-flight for the first time since the 2012-13 season."Llanelli's a rugby town and we're fighting the battle to get football on the map," Stephens told the BBC Radio Wales Sport Phone In."It's going to be massive if we do it and we've got to stay up and stay there with the restructuring going on within the Cymru Leagues in 2026-27."We're all volunteers – none of us are employed – and we work really hard behind the scenes to get everything right structurally within the club."We're trying to make that day out – it's not just about going to watch a football match."It's getting to the ground, what are you doing when you get there, what's available and what's happening after."It's the whole experience and the build-up on social media now, which is so big."It's building that event up and carrying it on after."We do all the work off the field which allows the management, in Lee John and his players, to get on the field and try and do the business."

Two Everton players to watch out for this season
BBC Sport's TV and radio commentators have picked two Everton players who will be worth watching out for in the next few Barry Age: 22 Position: Striker Country: France Guy Mowbray: Having checked his numbers and seen a few clips online, I'm really hoping he can make a big - and quick - impact for be raw certainly, but the talent is undoubtedly there for David Moyes to work about time Everton had a strong centre-forward who can consistently deliver again. Dixie Dean, Tommy Lawton, Joe Royle, Bob Latchford, Andy Gray, Duncan Ferguson... Thierno Barry? And if he doesn't fire - how about Beto to step up as a bit of a wildcard himself?!Harrison Armstrong Age: 18 Position: Midfield Country: England Steve Bower: Given Everton's frustrations in the summer market, Blues fans are hoping one of their own has an opportunity to make an impact.I saw Harrison Armstrong start at Goodison in the FA Cup win over Peterborough in January before a productive loan spell in the Championship with Derby County. Still only 18, he offers versatility in the attacking have to be patient, but he'll be hoping to follow the likes of Ross Barkley and Anthony Gordon in taking his opportunity when it about more players to watch here

Leeds United fans: 'Premier League return is enormous'
After a goal in the 91st minute clinched the Championship title for Leeds United last season, thousands of fans lined the city streets to celebrate. As the Whites host Everton at Elland Road this evening, supporters have told the BBC what a return to the Premier League means to them. "It has been a long time coming", John Lewis, a season ticket holder at Elland Road for 44 years, said with 55-year-old has five tattoos dedicated to the club and said the sense of camaraderie between fans was "unbelievable"."It is friends what meet up but it is more of a family."Wherever we go, like to Portsmouth on a Tuesday night, you have 3,000 Leeds fans."You do not get support like that anywhere else." Mr Lewis said Leeds' return to the Premier League for the first time since 2023 would have a huge knock-on impact for the city's economy."It will definitely help Leeds in a big way," he said, highlighting money spent in pubs on a match to expand the club's ground were submitted to Leeds City Council earlier this year, which would take the capacity of Elland Road to 53, believe promotion is key to expansion, with the authority set to make a decision this autumn. "You just have to look at the infrastructure they are planning to put in place; it would be brilliant," supporter Sean Brennan said."There are around 25,000 people on a waiting list for a season ticket so they do need the expansion." Mr Brennan, 57, has been a fan of Leeds United since the 1970s and was gifted a plaque at Elland Road by his daughter for Christmas."As a Leeds fan your emotions are up and down all the time; but you have got to support them through thick and thin."I am looking forward to European nights. I know that is still a long way away, but I think we have a good chance."About 150,000 football fans descended on the city centre to celebrate Leeds United's return to the Premier League after a two-year absence earlier this open-top bus carried the players and staff through City Square. Mother-of-three Stephanie said the club's return to the top tier was inspiring for her sons."They love football; we went to the friendly two weekends ago and we saw Harry Gray come out."To see somebody really young (Gray is 16) like that, it is amazing to see and think that might be them one day."Stephanie's sons Seb and Max watched the moment the Whites won the league from home last season."We came back to school and we were all jumping and shouting," the brothers, who are 10 and seven, recalled."The atmosphere is always really good; it is always a sell-out." Terry Greenall agreed promotion would have an "enormous" impact on the city's 69-year-old has supported the club since his childhood, and has fond memories of meeting Leeds legends. "As a student I met Don Revie, Big Jack [Charlton] and John Charles."I upset John Charles because we bumped into him while playing football, and I did not recognise him," he said the return to the Premier League had been worth the wait."There have been a lot of ups and downs - but it is about time!" Leeds vs Everton preview: Free betting tips, odds and predictions for Premier League
PROMOTED Leeds and Everton wrap up the opening round of Premier League fixtures with a Monday night clash at Elland Road. SunSport betting experts have previewed the contest and selected the best bets, tips and exclusive sign-up bonuses from our leading betting partners. Find The Sun's betting publishing principles here Leeds vs Everton preview Leeds' two-year Premier League absence is finally over as they welcome David Moyes' Everton to Elland Road for Monday night's top-flight clash. It's the first time in club history that Leeds are starting a league campaign with a Monday fixture - and they'll be hoping this new experience sparks a change in fortunes against the Toffees. Leeds have managed just one win in their last 11 Premier League meetings with Everton (D4 L6) and are winless in the last five. Meanwhile, the Toffees are unbeaten in their last five Premier League trips to Elland Road - their joint-longest active unbeaten away run against any current top-flight side. But Leeds arrive in form, of sorts, having lost just one of their last 28 Championship league games (W19 D8), winning the last six in a row. They've also bolstered their squad with the arrivals of Anton Stach, Jaka Bijol, Lucas Perri, Sean Longstaff, and Gabriel Gudmundsson - not to mention former Toffee Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who joined on a free transfer. Leeds stormed to the Championship title with 100 points on the final day of the campaign, boasting the second-best defensive record in the division, conceding just 30 goals all season. And it looks like that same defensive resilience and organisation will be key again in the top flight. The early signs are positive too - Leeds registered three successive pre-season draws, including 1-1 results against AC Milan and Villarreal, and a goalless stalemate with Manchester United. As for Everton, they head into the new campaign with the wind in their sails after finally completing their long-awaited move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium. They've also been active in the transfer market, bringing in Thierno Barry, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and - most notably - Jack Grealish, who joins on a season-long loan in one of the summer's standout deals. However, not everything has gone to plan. An injury to key centre-back Jarrad Branthwaite is a major blow, and their pre-season form was equally concerning - the Toffees went winless in all six warm-up games, scoring just four goals in total. Leeds vs Everton preview betting tips and predictions Goals? Nope. That might sound negative, especially considering Leeds' last eight opening league games have produced 39 goals. But Leeds - and the other promoted clubs - may struggle for goals in the top flight. Last season's top scorer, Joel Piroe, remains untested at Premier League level, while Dominic Calvert-Lewin has managed just 17 goals across the last four top-flight campaigns. They also scored just two goals across pre-season, and none of those matches saw over 2.5 goals. It's a similar story for Everton, who were blunt in front of goal last season. While they've added attacking reinforcements, it may take time for the likes of Jack Grealish and Thierno Barry to settle. Four goals in seven pre-season games isn't exactly firing on all cylinders. Carded I'm backing Everton defender Jake O'Brien to go into the book at 7/2 on Monday night, using William Hill's enhanced Player Card market. The towering Irishman, 24, is expected to fill in at right-back due to Jarrad Branthwaite's injury - a role where he picked up three of his four Premier League bookings last season. And it could be a tough shift under the lights at Elland Road, with the pace and directness of Daniel James and Wilfried Gnonto sure to keep him busy.
