Inside Manhattan's sizzling birthday hotspots... from a beach with imported Hamptons sand to a bar with delectable custom dinner menus
After years of planning parties, attending the chicest events and helping others pull off their big moments, I finally decided it was time to put together the ultimate NYC birthday itinerary.
The day kicked off in style at The Beach at Dream Downtown, a new personal go-to when I want to feel like I'm on vacation without ever leaving Manhattan.
I grabbed a chaise lounge by the sparkling glass bottom pool (yes, that's a thing) and spent the early afternoon in the sun with a few close friends.
What sets this spot apart? The beach isn't just a vibe, it's real Montauk sand, imported from the Hamptons to bring that breezy coastal feel right into the heart of the city.
With private cabanas, a full-service bar, and that signature New York edge, it's like Miami met Montauk and moved to Chelsea - and I loved it.
The refreshing poolside menu (shoutout to Tao Group Hospitality) delivered everything from indulgent bar snacks to some seriously good handcrafted cocktails.
The star of the show was the $18 Dubai Chocolate Shake with a rich blend of dark chocolate, vanilla ice cream, pistachio and kataifi. It's the ultimate rooftop indulgence for those who like their desserts as extra as their views.
Between bites of crispy fries and sips of spicy margaritas, I had a full 'main character' moment — and honestly, you should too.
After poolside bliss, it was time to gather the crew (all 25 of them) for dinner at Alessa Cucina in Midtown.
Finding a place that can accommodate that many people in NYC without losing charm or quality is rare, but Alessa fully delivered.
We were tucked away in a perfect semi-private space, which made the night feel intimate, chic, and exclusive without ever feeling stuffy.
Alessa Cucina delivered on every level with tender, house-made meatballs that melted in your mouth and a custom event menu that brought a personal, elevated touch to the evening. Proof that good food and thoughtful details make all the difference
The staff? Incredible. The vibe? Immaculate. And don't get me started on the food!
From the Housemade meatballs to the burrata-topped pizzas, every bite felt elevated yet comforting.
The team even created a custom prefixed menu just for my birthday, which is that kind of detail that makes a dinner feel really personal.
It's the kind of place that works just as well for a romantic date night as it does for a big celebration.
But the night didn't stop there because no NYC birthday is complete without a little dancing, some shoulder rubbing with NYC's whose who, and a lot of views.
The Highlight Room's outdoor terrace served up unbeatable skyline views as the sun set over NYC the perfect backdrop to close out the night in style
We wrapped the evening at The Highlight Room on the Lower East Side. With sweeping views of the Manhattan skyline and a soundtrack that kept us on our feet until well past midnight, it was the cherry on top of an already unforgettable day.
Whether you're living in New York or just visiting, Highlight Room is a must, even if it's just for a post-work cocktail. The rooftop vibe is unmatched, and the energy is the perfect mix of downtown cool and high-end sophistication.
Planning the perfect birthday in NYC doesn't have to be overwhelming it just takes a little creativity, the right venues, and, of course, the best people. This year reminded me that you don't need to leave the city to feel like you're somewhere magical.

Barron Trump has not been by dad Donald's side in MONTHS sparking speculation about his whereabouts
Barron Trump has not attended an official White House event or appeared alongside his father Donald Trump in months. The 19-year-old NYU student was last seen by his dad's side at his inauguration on January 20, where he seemed cool and confident as he put on a show for the cameras. But since then, Barron hasn't stepped out with the 79-year-old president - and his noticeable absence has prompted speculation over his whereabouts. Daily Mail has contacted the White House for comment. Despite not being seen out with his dad, Barron has been photographed in and around Manhattan. In April, he was pictured showing off a shaggier, more relaxed mane as he strode with purpose to university classes. The towering NYU's Stern School of Business freshman - who stands at 6ft7 - also sported a loose sweater, jeans, and Adidas sneakers. Barron reportedly commutes to college from the Trump Tower apartment, home to his father and doting 54-year-old mother Melania. To get him to class, a motorcade of black SUVs drives him 20 minutes to Tisch Hall, Stern's undergrad building. While Barron hasn't been by his father's side, Trumps older children, Donald Jr Trump, 47, Ivanka Trump, 43, and Eric Trump, 41, have showed their support. Earlier this week, the president was joined by his sons Donald Jr and Eric, daughter-in-law Lara Trump, and grandchildren Chloe and Spencer, for the opening ceremony of Trump International Golf Links near Aberdeen, Scotland. His family members joined him for the trip to Scotland - that was part vacation, part work - as he stayed at his Trump Turnberry golf course. 'This has been an unbelievable development,' Trump said before the ribbon cutting. He also heaped praise on Eric, who designed the course, who in return said it was his dad's 'passion project.' Eric has appeared by his dad's side for numerous events, including the Super Bowl in New Orleans in February. At the Super Bowl, Eric was also joined by his sister, Ivanka, with the family pictured before the Philadelphia Eagles beat Kansas City Chiefs. In March, he attended Trump's address to a joint session of Congress in the House Chamber of the US Capitol in Washington, D.C., and in June, he appeared with his dad at the mixed martial art rematch of Merab Dvalishvili and Sean O'Malley in New Jersey. Eric's sister Ivanka was also in attendance for the UFC 316 event in New Jersey, and was accompanied by her husband Jared Kushner. In April, Ivanka's children Arabella Rose, 13, and her son Theodore, nine, hung out with Trump on the South Lawn of the White House at an event celebrating the Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles NFL football team. While Barron hasn't been by his dad's side at official events, that hasn't stopped the president from talking about him. In May, Trump revealed that his youngest son will be attending at least some of the FIFA World Cup matches next year. 'These events will attract millions of passionate fans around the world, including my son. I have a son that loves soccer – Barron,' Trump said. He then joked with the room: 'Nobody's ever heard of Barron, right? Have you ever heard of Barron? He's a good soccer player, too.' 'He's a little tall for soccer, but that's okay,' the president conceded.

Shannon Sharpe's close friend pushes to replace him at ESPN with Super Bowl winner axed after rape lawsuit
Former Cincinnati Bengals star Chad 'Ochocinco' Johnson appears to be coming for Shannon Sharpe's former job. Sharpe, a former NFL star-turned sports TV analyst, was axed by ESPN on Wednesday just weeks after he reached a settlement with his ex-girlfriend, who had accused him of raping her in a $50million lawsuit. Johnson, who co-hosts the 'Nightcap' podcast with Sharpe, appeared on ESPN's 'First Take' on Wednesday morning just hours before it was reported that the network had parted ways with the NFL Hall of Famer, who made regular guest appearances on the show. And the former wide receiver seized the chance to pitch himself to Stephen A. Smith, Molly Qerim and the crew as he appeared to angle for a permanent position in the studio. 'I can get used to this for the next … six months,' Johnson said after host Qerim asked whether he liked the new 'First Take' studio, which is located in Lower Manhattan. 'I'm gonna start September 5, if I'm not mistaken, because 'Thursday Night Football,' first week, so, I should be here Friday.' 'Okay, looking forward to that,' Qerim responded with a laugh before steering Johnson towards 'the boss' as she pointed to Smith, who joined the show remotely. The ESPN star claimed that he had returned from vacation to join the program for Johnson's guest appearance, which the 47-year-old took as an encouraging sign. 'The fact that you came off vacation for me, that lets me know you're trying to get things started a little early,' Johnson told Smith. 'And I appreciate that. Trying to preheat the oven, I like that. It's gonna be a great season.' Johnson, who has previously appeared on 'First Take,' joined the program Wednesday to promote EA Sports and popular video game 'Madden NFL 26'. His appearance came just hours before ESPN officially parted ways with Sharpe, who made regular guest appearances on 'First Take.' The former tight end had been off the air since late April due to the sexual assault lawsuit filed against him by a Jane Doe. The former NFL star was hit with a bombshell $50million lawsuit back in April after a woman, identified as one of his ex-girlfriends, accused him of raping her on two occasions over the course of their relationship. Sharpe, who denied the allegations, vowed to return to ESPN later in the year once he had proved his innocence. Yet just weeks after the accuser reached a settlement and retracted the allegations, it was revealed on Wednesday that he has been fired by ESPN after almost two years. The Athletic's Andrew Marchand was the first to report ESPN's decision, which was later confirmed by Daily Mail. Sharpe addressed his shock departure later in the evening, saying at the start of his 'Nightcap' podcast: 'Obviously, I'm sure everybody's heard the news by now that I will not be returning to ESPN. 'I found out this information a little earlier in the week, and really the only thing that I really asked is, "Guys, could we wait until Monday? My brother's going into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, I really want it to be about him and I want it to be about my family." 'I said, "This coming out will overshadow everything he's worked his entire life for." And unfortunately it didn't happen that way.' Sharpe spent close to two years with the network after joining popular sports talk show 'First Take' in August 2023. He had departed Fox Sports program 'Undisputed' two months prior. Asked by Daily Mail if the decision was impacted by the lawsuit or the settlement, an ESPN spokesperson declined to comment. Stephen A. Smith, the network's biggest star and a First Take co-host, previously stated his belief in Sharpe's innocence. Details of Sharpe's settlement with his accuser have not been revealed publicly. He was first accused of raping the Plaintiff, identified as Jane Doe, in October of 2024, before allegedly doing so again in January after arriving at her home with promises of Christmas and birthday gifts, according to her original complaint. After filing the lawsuit, Buzbee produced audio of Sharpe seemingly threatening the Plaintiff. '… I'm gonna f***ing choke the s*** out of you when I see you,' the 56-year-old Sharpe is heard telling the woman. Sharpe's attorney at the time claimed his client was speaking 'in the heat of the moment' and the violent threat was 'not intended.' Furthermore, Buzbee alleged that Sharpe offered Doe a 'hefty sum' to settle the case in February, only for the plaintiff to decline the payoff. Five months later an agreement was then reached. 'After protracted and respectful negotiations, I'm pleased to announce that we have reached a mutually agreed upon resolution,' Texas-based attorney Tony Buzbee, who represented the accuser, said earlier this month. 'All matters have now been addressed satisfactorily, and the matter is closed. The lawsuit will thus be dismissed with prejudice.' A spokesperson for Sharpe's legal team declined comment to Daily Mail at the time, explaining that Buzbee's statement would be the final word on the matter.
