Severe storms, flooding, and winter weather alerts in effect in New Mexico tonight
NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – Very active weather will continue into Tuesday across parts of New Mexico. Heavy rain and heavy snow will fall in parts of the state tonight.
It's been another stormy day for parts of New Mexico on Monday with widespread showers and storms. Severe storms have developed in southeast New Mexico, where a Tornado Watch is in effect until 4 AM Tuesday. Snow has also been falling in the northern mountains today, where places like Angel Fire have already picked up several inches of snowfall and the Taos Ski Valley has measured over a foot. A Winter Storm Warning is in effect for the Sangre de Cristo Mountains through Wednesday.
Tonight, more rain and mountain snow will develop in eastern and northern New Mexico. Storms in eastern parts of the state will drop very heavy rainfall, especially in northeast New Mexico, where a Flash Flood Watch is in effect through Tuesday evening. Widespread rain will fall there overnight tonight, with scattered showers and storms on Tuesday afternoon. Meanwhile, heavy snow will fall in the northern mountains. 8″ to 12″ of snow will fall above about 9,000′, with up to two feet of snowfall across mountain peaks. Snow levels may even briefly drop down to as low as Los Alamos, Taos, Las Vegas, and the foothills of Santa Fe early Tuesday morning. Snow levels will lift to around 8,000′ in the afternoon as more showers and thunderstorms develop across the state again. The threat of severe weather is much lower.
Another round of isolated showers and storms will return Wednesday afternoon across most of the state. Temperatures will be staying cool. Drier air moves into the state Thursday and Friday, along with warmer temperatures. A few spotty afternoon showers are still possible mainly over the mountains. A weak storm system will move into New Mexico Saturday, bringing a chance for afternoon showers and storms to the northwestern half of the state. Drier and warmer weather returns again though in time for Mother's Day.

Building near downtown Sedalia ‘in state of collapse,' city says
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A vacant building near downtown Sedalia is 'in a state of collapse,' prompting the city to close part of the street and sidewalk. The city of Sedalia warned residents in Facebook posts Wednesday that eastbound traffic on West Main Street near Kentucky Avenue would be closed due to 'structural concerns' at 207 W. Warm and sticky, scattered showers, storms
Skies will remain mostly cloudy, with occasional showers and isolated storms developing along a slow-moving cold front, especially across the eastern half of the state with a ripple of low pressure. Temperatures will hover around 80s degrees, although only in the mid-70 farther northwest behind the front. A cluster of showers and storms south of the nearly stalled front will brush southern Ohio this evening and linger overnight, focused well to the south of I-70. As the frontal boundary sags south Saturday, skies will turn partly sunny, with temperatures in the seasonable upper 70s. However, another round of showers will return early Sunday with a disturbance crossing the Ohio Valley through early afternoon, with some clearing later in the day. More scattered storms are likely Monday afternoon and early Tuesday, as a system drops southeast from the Canadian plains. Skies will finally clear up by the middle of next week, as high pressure builds into the region, with temperatures warming to the low 80s. Friday: Mostly cloudy, few showers, storms.
