Parts of England to hit 30C as fire crews travel across country to battle blaze
Parts of England will swelter through temperatures of up to 30C on Friday as firefighters grapple with a lack of resources amid the heatwave. The Met Office forecast patchy cloud across the north with some light rain and the odd shower in Scotland. Despite this, temperatures will remain warm, particularly across England and Wales. In London, highs of 30C are predicted, while Cardiff will only be slightly cooler at 29C. Further north, Belfast and Edinburgh are expected to be a little milder, with temperatures reaching 22C and 24C respectively. As the heat concentrates across southern and southwestern England, temperatures will climb to 30C in Salisbury and 29C in Cambridge, while central areas like Nottingham are also expected to see highs of 28C. It comes as firefighters travelled across the UK to help tackle the major wildfire at Holt Heath, Dorset, fuelling calls for increased firefighting resources. Ben Selby, Fire Brigades Union assistant general secretary said services had undergone '14 years of austerity'. 'The loss of 1 in 5 firefighter posts to cuts, with fire engines taken off the run and fire stations closed up and down the country, means that there is no resilience left,' he said. 'Wildfires are intensive incidents, requiring a large number of firefighters and specialist resources. They are becoming increasingly severe and frequent as a result of the climate emergency.' Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue estimated the blaze had burned through 72ha and would remain on the scene overnight. 'Crews are still working in three sectors dealing with an increase in flare-ups, hotspots and deep-seated fires identified using drones,' the statement read. 'This is due to the weather conditions.' Crews travelled from Merseyside, South Wales, Greater Manchester, Leicestershire, Surrey, Lincolnshire, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, Avon, Essex and Kent among others, to assist local emergency services. Heat health alerts were extended into next week for much of England. Officials have said the country is suffering from 'nationally significant' water shortfalls. The national drought group, which includes the Met Office, regulators, government, water companies and other organisations, has met as five areas of the country remain in drought, with six more in prolonged dry weather status. The UK Health Security Agency said yellow warnings will remain in place for Yorkshire and Humber, the East and West Midlands, London and the South East, South West and east of England until 6pm on August 18. The weekend should be dry and sunny for most parts of the UK, with the mercury forecast to hover around 30C on Saturday and 29C on Sunday in south-west England.

Shedeur Sanders' mom steals spotlight again in latest NFL appearance... days after being slammed for 'embarrassing' behavior
Just days after stealing the headlines at her son Shedeur's NFL debut for the Cleveland Browns, Pilar Sanders has returned to the sport - this time for her other son Shilo. The brothers have both landed in the NFL after playing college ball together at Colorado - coached by their father Deion - last season. And it appears their mom will be very busy this season as she travels across the country to take in both of their fledgling careers - with plenty of social media posts to boot. After she was slammed by some for her 'embarrassing' sideline behavior at Shedeur's game last weekend, she returned to the spotlight in a custom dress with Shilo's face on for his Tampa Bay Buccaneers debut. Posting on social media, she wrote: 'First NFL Game and Yep @shilosanders brangs that BOOM Everytime! #proudmom #tampabaybuccaneers #shilosanders #28' In a series of videos and photos, the 50-year-old - who is separated from the NFL stars' father Deion - showed off her red outfit and vlogged her experience at the game. Last week, she was ripped by Browns fans after traveling to watch Shedeur - fourth-choice quarterback - make his own first appearance in the pro game. She watched on from the sidelines on the day and, after the game, shared a video of herself celebrating the occasion. The caption read: 'Aaaaaand you know itttt!!! Momma's always present!' Some fans, however, were not impressed by Pilar's actions and swiftly made their feelings known by responding in the comments to her Instagram post. One fan wrote: 'I would be embarrassed if my 60-year-old mom conducted herself like that'. For clarity, Pilar Sanders is 50. 'She acted like a kid,' another said. Meanwhile one user brutally commented: 'She is so annoying'. One fan, however, did leave a lengthy comment. They said: 'But as a mother pulling up to my son's games, I would conduct myself differently. This is young woman behavior. You are so fine. Pilar received some heat online for her behavior at Shedeur's game last weekend Shedeur is fourth-choice quarterback at Cleveland and is battling to make the final roster 'You dont have to be posting pic licking your teeth and wiggling. Im not hating at all, but her sons are so respectful and respected by many in the world, that she should just carry herself showing more class'. Fans were left stunned by Sanders balling out on his debut in the NFL, with one even calling it 'history-making', and another claiming he has 'proven his doubters wrong'. Shilo also enjoyed a productive debut, and has turned himself into a fans' favorite in Tampa Bay in a very short space of time. It is as yet unclear whether he will make the final roster ahead of the season, but he is being tipped to be picked up elsewhere should he fall short in Tampa Bay.

Nottingham Forest working on potential club-record Omari Hutchinson deal
Nottingham Forest are pushing to sign Omari Hutchinson in a potential club-record deal worth about £37m. Forest, who are also closing on a £30m move for James McAtee from Manchester City, are confident of beating rivals to the signing of the Ipswich winger. Hutchinson expressed his desire to return to the Premier League to the Ipswich manager, Kieran McKenna, after relegation last season and has not featured this campaign. A release clause of about £35m is thought to have lapsed. Sign up to Football Daily Kick off your evenings with the Guardian's take on the world of football after newsletter promotion Forest and Brentford have had bids for Hutchinson rejected but the former are now optimistic about adding the 21-year-old, who has also been the subject of interest from Everton, to their squad. Forest made Dan Ndoye their record buy last month by signing the Switzerland winger from Bologna for £35m to replace Anthony Elanga, who joined Newcastle in a £55m deal, but are ready to eclipse that fee. Forest are also pursuing deals for Douglas Luiz, who is keen to return to the Premier League from Juventus, the Rennes striker Arnaud Kalimuendo and McAtee, with the England Under-21s midfielder poised for a medical in the coming days. Forest are among the clubs to have tracked Southampton's Mateus Fernandes but the Championship club want about £40m for the Portuguese midfielder. Chelsea are poised to profit from Hutchinson moving on, after they inserted a clause in the £20m deal that took him to Ipswich last year entitling them to 25% of any profit from a future sale. Hutchinson, who returned to his boyhood club, Chelsea, from Arsenal in 2022, was one of Ipswich's best performers last season but scored only three top-flight goals.
